IVF September/October 2017

Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

Filip I found something on Pinterest which I might try and do some things off the title is "101 things to do on the 2 week wait" it's a bit American but quite interesting...I've attached a picture. I also plan on doing a fair bit of my Xmas shopping online to stop me going insane (as well as looking after new puppy!)

aliona after your freezing when do you plan on doing FET then?

and atik when's your transfer?

Aww thank you Minster! I might do my Christmas shopping online as well that's a very good idea;-) I will be off work for the next two weeks as this week I have been signed off after my egg collection and second week is the half term and I am off anyway so lots of walking reading cooking for hubby watching film etc?;-)

Perfect time to do actual Christmas shopping then, not just online, in shops and planning out the Christmas period, we're hosting this year for the first time ever so I want to be super organised so I can enjoy it so I've started buying bits of the food shopping that will keep to spread our costs & for a fair few presents too (DH's birthday also end of Nov so I think of both together!)

Dare I say it we have worked out that if get pregnant we could announce over Christmas as a really nice surprise on Xmas day, and as a very convenient way of telling people as basically will see the majority of friends of family. I know it's bad to think ahead, we are realistic that it may not work, but it may & that would be lovely! 🎄

Minster- tomorrow a hv app for ma injection a fink it's to stop making eggs lol den a fink 2 weeks after injection a Guna hv app to start checking lining

A just bk from gp... Started getting rashes on ma arms chest nd up ma bk only always after shower or bath.... BT De most important a asked doctor gp cn she do ma blood test if everything okay cz a Guna go for invitro nd always feeling tired, week, dizzy plus cold sores etc so Thursday a hv blood test xxx

Minster - two tyms we put 1, a tort if in our last time a wide lyk to put two so maybe will more chance cz if a gun miscarriage maybe atlest one will stay in.. BT doctor sed with two it's more chance to miscarriage plus am 26 so am young nd a cn hv only one transferred.. From 8 embryos a hv 5 left cz one wen they took out from freezer didn't survive..

Girls hw r u dealing with this all full bladder thing.. Dats the most scarry for me, a asked even doctor is der was sum accident dat girl pee a Lil nd he sed no so a told him dat a gun b first.. Lol he told.meh it's not possible lol buy a always felt lyk ma bladder guna explode awwww....

Atik my lining is apparently really good and I hope it still is for the transfer tomorrow, can you somehow improve your lining?

Minster telling family and friends over Christmas is my very secret plan too if everything goes well ;-) I can't help thinking ahead lol

Minster2012 👋🏼 I don’t know yet what and when. They calling me Wednesday to say how many ok to freeze and a leaflet says I should expect it in 10-12 weeks. Still have month worth of injections. But I am just like you, always dreaming oh maybe I can announce it xmas, or mums birthday or something else. I am scared of telling people after miscarriage, hard to deal with reactions after.

Atikakck I know! Full bladder is a problem. I am always struggling during scans before but to be in a starfish position with my legs up in the air and that expander inside-I dont want to think about it 😂😂 let us know how u get on 😁 get doc a raincoat or something 😆

Filipinam - a fink wen u hv gd blood flow der the lining getting better. So a fink sum exercise... A using heating pillow on ma stomach BT a don't know is dis okay am usually always frozen nd hv thick blood so one a hv transfer am guna b on injection to help ma blood get thin... I fink sex its gd lol cz then blood flow better to the organs lol plus obviously after transfer u can't hv sex so till then take as much as u can

otters have you had your last scan for your follicles? My follicles all of a sudden shot up in size so those slightly smaller ones might catch up quickly in the last bit!

filip you must be so exited for the transfer, I can't wait for it all to come together now, just want to know!!!

Ha that's made me laugh atik enjoy it whilst you can then! I hope your lining improves, we have a scan on weds to see how my friends is then see if can go ahead next week so fingers crossed!!

I'm sooooo glad I'm not the only one that just can't help thinking ahead as well, I think it's only natural because whilst you have to be realistic that it may not work I think it's important to also be positive, plus I just couldn't help counting forwards 'just in case' & worked out about 11 weeks so near enough.

As I posted on the other thread I am on, I tested today which is way too early (day 4 past ET (which was last Thursday at 3pm). Still feeling down that it was BFN and think I have PMT coming on. Just realised how rubbish I am going to feel if/when I get my period. All that effort to come to nothing.

Minster2012 I don’t have a clue. The girl next to me during EC was saying how happy she was that injections over. But I said I have 30+ needles at home. And she was like “omg I have them too, but I thought they delivered by mistake”. I don’t have medication yet, just needles. And they did say I will have to do them. But my hospital is hard to speak to, u have to milk them for any information 😤 and also those pessaries everyone is talking about

Minster2012 Also after EC I am taking a pill for a week and cetrotide again for a week

Aliona - a hv needles a get always stiff wen a c dem lol BT tomorrow am at to hv ma first injection in ma stomach then 2 weeks after a will hv app.to check the lining if am ready to start medication nd always one day b4 app a start period... Then after transfer a starting ma injections in ma stomach to make blood thin... They rly bruise ma stomach BT oh well we all cud do everything dat cud help to make it all work...

Oh a forgot about ma questions.. Cz ma go want do ma blood test if am okay md y a feel everyday all day tired weak dizzy wen a get up etc ibv they will check all vitamins too nd a taking pregnacare.. Nd ma friends wich always try b smart nd talk as shez a doctor told me a need to top.dia tablets or ma blood test result will b fake.. BT doctor didnt sed nuffing to me to stop them... Is dat true dat a hv to stop them cz ma app blood test it's on Thursday

Oh right that's weird! I was given more needles than medication so that might mean nothing but after EC as my embryos were being frozen for 6 months I had nothing. Certainly no tablets but I have seen other ppl comment on tablets.

I don't know about ppl with the 10-12 week FET schedule, maybe atik has similar?

The pessaries we were given recently in advance of ET for afterwards, (joy for her!) and I think my friend has buserlin & the patches for her womb lining thickening.

Minster - a don't know much about ma fet lol as a sed ma clinic don't care nd nt saying much Wat a hv always it's wen a get period a ring for app nd they gimme 21 days from first bleeding. Den a get injection then two week later a cumin to check De lining nd if it's less than a fink 4 mm a start take tablets a fink a was take 6 or 8 tablets a day don't rmb them names nd after a need take them once up my front bit nd a need out two of them. De after transfer a do injection everyday to make thin blood then a wait two week then a hv blood test nd if it's negative they tell me to stop take dis all nd if a hv positive a keep take them a don't rmb for hw long

Been for my scan earlier today and I have 10 follicles. Whoop whoop!! Started with 4-6 so it's quite incredible and they've booked me in for EC on wed! It's all starting to feel so real now. Last day of injections today then nothing tomorrow phew. Hope there's lots of nice eggs in there🤞

Ah right I see Atik, your timeline is similar to ours in the 21 days from bleeding but not tablets, isn't it weird how so many different clinics have so different protocols & regimes!!

otters that's fab!! See I said they can shoot up at the end that's what mine did!! Weird isn't is, I thought maybe they were "shit come on ladies let's grow else we're gonna get left behind!" Awesome, it's nearly there

& yes I sent my friend earlier saying it's officially now "next week" til we're gonna try & get you knocked up with our baby...how weird is that!!!

Hi all,

Sorry I’ve been so quiet, I’ve been feeling rank all weekend, so phoned my clinic and they brought me straight in today.

Good news is I have a BFP!!!!!!! It feels really weird. I can’t quite believe it’s happened!! I know there are so many steps to go through but just as I got there Survivor by Destiny’s Child was on the radio so I hope that’s an omen!!

There is a complication though, hence why in hospital. Bad news is that I have late onset OHSS :( Going to need a lot of monitoring as they can’t do anything about it now I’m pregnant, so just have to monitor and see how it goes. I start blood thinners tonight.

I’m just out of hospital and waiting for my new drugs, then I can go home where I’ll catch up with all your news and write back!!
