We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

I haven’t had IVF yet so I haven’t had feedback on my eggs but I am also going to do immune testing in the next month or so and if that is my problem I will keep you all posted! I think one of the signs of having it is very rarely getting ill, I never seem to catch colds/ flu as this could mean our immune system is too good at fighting off anything including embryos?

angelazul · 14/01/2018 10:02

Oh Bluebird I'm so sorry you got such horrible news, it must be so so difficult. If you feel up to it, it might be worth doing some research of your own, 31 does seem very young to have to use donor eggs. Take care of yourself Flowers

gee they showed us each embryo and how it progressed. They said by day 3 they should be 7-8 cell. Most of ours were 4-5 and only 1-2 each cycle were on track. Many arrested or didn't develop properly and that's why we never have any to save. Cells are supposed to divide from one to two but we had a couple that went from one to three which was described as 'freakish'. Hmm They also think the fact I've had a mc and a chemical all point to bad embryo quality.

I had recently bought the body baby friendly book and my plan was to look into immunes before all this. I think it's probably still worth doing and moving clinics as ours doesn't test for nk cells (we pay private but it's an nhs clinic).

Thanks for the support everyone. It's been a rough few days. My dh and I have been talking and we aren't going to give up just yet. We're going to spend the next 6 months or so trying to get as healthy as possibly. Trying to buy fresh organic produce, reduce bpa and phthalate exposure, start taking ubiquinol and pretty much everything the book 'It Starts with the Egg' suggests. Getting immunes tested as well. Then we will have another go with my eggs. If it's still the same we will consider donor eggs.

Blue I have just been to ARGC and they are the best at dealing with NK Cells, very expensive there but maybe you could just have the immune testing and any other tests you haven’t had? Then reassess? And if it is just NK treatment you need them maybe you can have it there but IVF somewhere cheaper or NK treatment somewhere else, where do you live? Xx

angelazul · 15/01/2018 07:51

That sounds like a very sensible plan blue My acupuncturist does a lot of stuff on social media re eating healthy, reducing toxins etc, & she'll answer questions you might have. If you want her details just let me know.

Welcome Catherine

geeup · 15/01/2018 08:06

Very sensible plan @bluebird3 glad you're not giving up on your eggs yet.

bluebird3 · 15/01/2018 17:36

Thanks for the suggestion ttc. I'm about 3 hours north of London so wouldn't be easy to travel for treatment but not impossible.

angel that would be great. Can you send me her info?

gee I feel good about trying to get healthy and having another go. If nothing else it's time I lose a bit of weight and get my self healthier. Where are you at with treatment?

catherine welcome Smile

How is everybody else? Who's next for treatment?

Ttc1london · 15/01/2018 18:39

I’m waiting for AF (currently about 3 or 4dpo) then will be having a monitored cycle I’m drug free this month x

Jamon · 15/01/2018 20:30

Bluebird I'm so sorry about your embryo news - could they pinpoint whether it's more to do with eggs or sperm? Your plan sounds totally sensible - why not see if you can both make a difference? I hope your DH is on board and you can both support each other through making the changes Xx

Gee I'm thinking of you lovely and hope you are starting to navigate next steps xxx

bluebird3 · 20/01/2018 16:39

Hi jamon. They can't tell whether it's the egg or sperm but said the egg is more fragile so likely the problem. Dh is onboard with the healthy eating and changes so that's good.

Hope everyone is well.

How is everyone keeping ? Sorry i have been away for a while.

Blue How are you keeping ? Im glad you have such a possitive outlook how is the battle plan going ? .

Who is next for treatment ?

Still no luck on my front. Although everyone in my life seems to have enough fertility to share. So far today i have been told from DH that a family member is uptheduff! What annoys me is that they didnt tell me for 3 weeks as no one wants to upset me i guess. Im only upset that no one told me! I am very happy for them.
Also i had to hear from a friend how depressing it is to be up the duff (Im not trying to minimise how she feels but honestly HONESTLY WTF !) and then be asked to the hilt why i dont have kids yet , if i am broody and dont i feel guilty denying my DH a child as we have been married "quite a few years now" .Light hearted: I honestly feel like saying to her YoUR FanNY wOrkE , mY FAnnY NoO ! Its just working fanjo arsehollery to be honest! Ah well at least i am keeping a good sense of humor.

angelazul · 14/03/2018 13:53

@scottish that did make me laugh Grin & I'm in pms central today, so that is quite an achievement Grin Grin Grin

How's everyone doing? Anyone due to start treatment cycle soon? I'm still waiting on amh results since Dec. Rang today to chase up & apparently they're sorting dates out for next month atm, & I'll be seen then. I've a feeling that I was forgotten about Angry

TryingToStayRational · 14/03/2018 14:38

Hi folks, hope you’re all ok out there. I’m just in 2ww of ivf cycle #1. We had 1 blastocyst which was transferred on Sat. Feeling ok and it hasn’t been too bad so am v relieved to be feeling like at least I can handle doing this again if need be.

Any good news out there?

Ttc1london · 14/03/2018 17:46

Good luck tryingtostay!

I’ve been referred for IVF so should be starting in July, in the mean time praying for a miracle using clexane and progesterone (unexplained so no need for other drugs!) x

bluebird3 · 15/03/2018 11:23

Thats made me laugh as well scottish!

I'm ok. I don't feel as deep in despair but still struggling to lose weight. Have been eating much healthier and have adopted a lot of The Mediterranean style diet, but am having trouble cutting out sugar. I just like it.

I've recently found out i have a fluctuating thyroid level so possibly hypo, which would explain the fatigue and trouble losing weight. I'm waiting for an appointment to go through all my test results in 2 weeks.

I'm also dreading my brothers wedding in April... my sister will be there with the baby she had 10 months after getting married, so didn't even have to try. I live abroad so it will be the first time meeting the baby and my issues have been forgotten by most family members in the excitement of the new baby.

That seems like a long wait angel...does seem they might have lost you in the shuffle.

Fx for you trying. The 2ww always feels so

Even after 3 years ttc and 3 failed ivf I still hope for a miracle ttc. Fx for you!!

Hello, can I join?

Age 32
TTC 3 years
Endometriosis/unexplained

I haven't looked at forums since the first year of TTc when I found it quite stressful as everyone else got their BFPs. Now really struggling and hope the support will help. I have a few medical/health issues that I don't feel I can discuss with friends and am feeling very isolated at the moment - sitting at home on my own on a Friday night with AF-is-on-the-way cramps does not help!

bluebird3 · 16/03/2018 20:08

Welcome janey. Sorry you're in the same boat as the rest of us. I'm also at home my own on a Friday night. Dh is at work so it's just me and the dog. I've isolated myself from a lot of people as I can't cope with friends with kids or people making hurtful comments (unintentionally). I'm the same as you...32 and ttc 3 Years.

OP posts:
TryingToStayRational · 16/03/2018 22:09

Hi Janey, you can discuss whatever you want to on here, there might be someone in the same boat. AF on the way is always my worst time of the cycle, I feel all weak and over-emotional. I’m 2.5 years ttc and just in the tww of my first IVF cycle now. Hope you feel better soon and can find comfort here from people who get what it can be like Flowers

ScottishJaggyNettle · 25/03/2018 13:01

Ladies I had a transfer (I didnt want to jinx it) and i got a BFP this morning after all these years ! I cant beleive it! Is there anyway possible to have a false possitive from the Fet drugs?.

Angel Have they gotten back to you about an appointment? I would phone them again and see if they can fit you in ?

Blue I couldnt stop eating sugar if my life depended on it Blush . FX the mediterranean style diet helps toward egg quality. It is worth a try. You are right it is an avenue worth looking at first.

Trying How did you get on. Have you tested yet ?

xx

TryingToStayRational · 25/03/2018 16:14

Hi @ScottishJaggyNettle! That’s brilliant news! I didn’t think you could have a false positive with a FET because you don’t have a trigger shot? How far past transfer are you?

I also got a BFP at last! Can’t quite believe it. Had to have two beta tests because the first one was low and I was spotting, but the second was plenty higher so it’s all good so far. First scan is two weeks tomorrow Smile

angelazul · 25/03/2018 16:59

Fab news @scottish & @trying StarStar About time we had some bfps on this thread.

Got appt in for fc, it's 19th April so still a while yet to wait , but hopefully it'll go in quick enough.

How's everyone else keeping? It's been very spring like with us this weekend, which is helping me to keep positive Smile

angelazul · 25/03/2018 17:01

Sorry, should've added welcome @janey. It is so hard when everyone else is getting their bfps, but it really does help chatting to the others on here, they completely get it.

bluebird3 · 26/03/2018 08:28

Fantastic news scottish and trying!! Great to see some bfps. Grin

I went to the Fertility Show in Manchester this weekend. It was interesting what they had to say and I went to a talk about improving nutrition to help with chances of success. I think I will go to a nutritionist who specialises is fertility nutrition to get a plan of what I should be eating. For example, at this talk they should you should only have spinach 1x/week whereas I thought it was really healthy and have it 4-5x/week.

I found out my thyroid TsH levels are fluctuating in and out of the normal range, so not sure if that is impacting on my egg quality. I have an appointment next week with the clinic so I'll find out the results of the karyotyping test and also talk about the thyroid issue. I'm really nervous for what they say. I'm probably looking at next round of treatment Aug/Sept time so I still have some time to get sorted but need to get on with losing weight.

Hope everyone is well! xx

TryingToStayRational · 26/03/2018 09:33

That sounds positive bluebird, glad you found the show interesting. I hope you have a really useful appointment next week Smile
