Hi Smile

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Hi everyone, how is everyone getting along?
My egg collection has been moved to this friday so i take the trigger tonight. Very nervous but want to get it over and done with. Whether it works or not (obviously really want it to) ill be glad for it be over.
The hospital trips, the phone ups, the injections, the side effects, the diet, the no drinking...its finally coming to the end next week after transfer!

Ash75454 · 17/05/2017 20:21

Moggle thanks for info. A big part of my role is financial analysis so also very fact based but like you when it comes to this now I'm willing to give anything a shot! I'm also on a good few supplements this round. I know it's only second attempt for me but I clearly don't have much patience and am struggling a bit with it.

karen, moggle I'd be keen to read that piece on the stats what thread is it in?

Otherwise today I need a little vent to try keep me positive. Our treatment is fully self funded with FET booked next Wednesday. Today my husband has been let go from his job, talk about timing! To add to dealing with that news I had a really shitty Clexane jab this evening I swear whoever makes those needles is the Devil.

moggle · 17/05/2017 21:50

Ash I think it is the one on this thread
this one
Eek about DH job, shit, was that expected? Is he likely to find another relatively quickly in his industry?

broody exciting to have things moved up - I know what you mean about getting it all over with. Good luck for Friday xx

chivintassle · 17/05/2017 21:55

Hi all. What a day! Up at 6 Tove at the clinic for 8, although it's amazing how quick you can get ready when no make up and general stuff! The EC went well and I don't remember any of it, I think my legs were shaking in the stirrups but who knows! They collected 8, which was a good surprise given we were expecting 4-5. We'll find our tomorrow morning quality and how many are fertilised. Scary times!
When I came around I went to the loo and a rush of blood/water came out... wasn't expecting that! Said was normal... So came home and about 6pm went to the loo and the biggest blood clot every came out. The size of my fist. I didn't know what it was and made DH look at it, I thought it was my body coming out, but he said clot. I tried to call the clinic and had to text out of hours dr. I said a huge chunk of flesh had come out! He just texted saying it'll be a clot, and normal, so panic over!
They didn't really prepare me for that!!

Thank you to everyone who wished me well today, was lovely to read your messages.

lily I managed to find a pair of Nike socks which had orange toes and heels so I wore those! Hopefully they are my new lucky socks!

maple good luck 🍀 Tomorrow, let us know how you get on. Fingers crossed for lots of high quality eggs!

lux my clinic are also doing Day 2 and 5. They will make a call on day 2 and then very occasional transfer on day 3 or 4, but otherwise it's Day 2 or 5. We're paying for time lapse so they don't have to take any embies out to look at / assess. They can see them splitting and track their progress apparently. Although if we only get 2 then we get a refund.

elle lily your symptom seem similar to mine were, Headache for a week and devilish AF! It gets better!

broody have you done your trigger? Was it ok?

moggle sounds like you have a great support network. How you feeling?

karen/moggle I'd be interested in the other info you've posted / reference on this chat. How do I find it?!

Lots going on with all of us, and I'm so thankful for having you all to chat to.

moggle · 17/05/2017 22:54

Hi, I linked in the post above. My first post, second last paragraph. It's not anything groundbreaking, just something my consultant said to us which helped me get through all the stages of our fresh cycle.
That clot must've been terrifying! God our bodies do like to expunge all sorts of horrible stuff to keep us on our toes. Everything crossed for fertilisation xxxx

Ash75454 · 18/05/2017 06:32

Hi moggle not expected, completely out of the blue. He's good at what he does and does really well in interview situation so hopefully will find something within a few weeks. Thanks for link too, interesting read. I think I was so overwhelmed at the time when we decided to go this route I didn't do nearly enough pre research but first time all take a similar approach, the staff have been fantastic and it's not too far from home about 20-25 minutes. How are you feeling?

ticking thanks for info on lining I was 7.9 at scan on Tuesday so seem on track for either our clinic suggestions, interesting though they are different. How are you doing?

broody hope the trigger went well. Another big milestone.

Luxnuova · 18/05/2017 07:42

Just got back from a sports massage I booked in an attempt at self-care. Was so good I've sworn to try it again. Also have acupuncture planned for tomorrow. I'm throwing everything at it! But, if the goal is relaxation then massage is a massive thumbs-up.

Ash - man, that's horrid timing. You poor things. An added stress you don't need. It sounds like your DH is well-equipped to get something else quickly, but it's always quite destabilising, I know.

Chivin - Woop! 8 eggs is wonderful news. Fingers crossed for the next stage

Good luck Maple and Broody.

Just waiting here. Your clinic sounds a bit more flexible, Chivin. Ours does offer the time-lapse thing, but nobody mentioned the advantage that you can observe without disturbing them. Might look into it if there's a next time, depending on expense. I also learnt that most clinics change the culture medium at day 3, which is why they check, so will ask them about the deal there too.

chivintassle · 18/05/2017 08:29

ash shit timing, hope you're ok and try to compartmentalise things so that you don't get too stressed. I know it's easy to say but sounds like he's well placed and things will sort themselves out.
lux good luck! You ET this morning? Agree re sports massage. I went to the chiropractor on Tuesday just to make sure I was all aligned.
Re acupuncture, I read somewhere that it's only effective if you do it for a while before, anyone got any experience of this? Have I missed it for this time?

tickingcl0ck · 18/05/2017 08:32

Hello all, trying to catch up

lux We made the decision to do a 5 day transfer and hope that out of the 3 embryos from day 3, one would survive. as for symptoms, on the day of transfer I had waves of unrelenting cramps in the afternoon. I was too scared to even use paracetamol and I couldn't use a hot water bottle. I just had to bear it. It only stopped the next day. I believe tomorrow is your transfer? Sending you virtual hugs!

karen wishing you lots of luck in this roller coaster journey of ours

elle how did your baseline scan go?

broody congrats on trigger! I hope your EC goes well tomorrow!

chivin thats a wonderful haul! I remember constantly checking my phone was on loud or that I had network on the day I was waiting for that call to tell me how many have fertilised. It is so nerve wracking. I hope you are better today after yesterday?

ash trying not to drive myself insane by constantly reading on what goes on during the 2 week wait. Your FET is due next week am I right? How are you feeling?

Virtual hugs to all :)

chivintassle · 18/05/2017 08:40

Well they called, mixed (bad) news. Only one fertilised, with 4 showing signs of activation. Have to wait until tomorrow to see their progress, but it's not looking good.

Luxnuova · 18/05/2017 09:30

Oh chivin - had to respond as soon as I saw this. I'm so bloody sorry to hear you got that news. Did they tell you anything more about whether signs of activation might lead to fertilisation? Nothing much useful to say apart but I am sending hope and massive hugs through the ether.

I'm on the other side of the world (NZ) so it's night here, and pretty cold. Odd to feel synched in with you all on this journey, in spite of distance.

My ET isn't until Saturday, but we get the call about whether there's anything to transfer tomorrow (Fri NZ time). Thanks so much for the deets on your experience ticking.

Luxnuova · 18/05/2017 09:38

Oh, and if it does turn out that there is one fighter embryo, just wanted to say that I have read so many stories online about people getting a BFP from a single fertilised egg. The cliche that you only need one is a cliche because it's tried and true. Sending Brew and Cake.

Lily35 · 18/05/2017 09:51

Totally second what Lux has said Chivin. It does only take one and am praying and doing a little egg dance for you today. Lots of Flowersxx

elle77 · 18/05/2017 09:54

Chivin- doesn't matter how many eggs you get or how many fertilise- you only need one! And you have him ready and waiting! Big positive thoughts. Good luck.

chivintassle · 18/05/2017 10:09

Thanks lux lily elle hugs, cake and egg dance all received with love.
I'm just deflated after the false high of 8, then down to 1. Who knows what tomorrow will bring! The chances aren't high for the 4 stragglers, Dr Google says if not fertilised by 18hrs then most likely to be abnormal. Waiting game!
If my 1 is still there then bet it ET tomorrow.

lux good luck with your call!

tickingcl0ck · 18/05/2017 10:35

chivin hang in there! thinking of you and sending you positive thoughts!

maplebaby · 18/05/2017 12:32

Lux glad your are feeling alright about the checkin on embryos now. One more night until you hear tomorrow.

Broody good luck for tomorrow! What time did you have to trigger last night? I feel exhausted the next day after trigger!

Lily and Elle not long till baseline and getting going!

Karen that's so nice of the delivery driver! I collected mine from the pharmacy - did the box say anything to give it away?!

Moggle glad you were able to just watch a few films and your mum is on hand!

Ash I'm so sorry to hear about your DH Sad what horrible timing. Really hope he finds somewhere soon.

Chivin im so sorry to hear about the call. The others still have a chance of catching up though if there were signs of activation, might just be slow starters - fingers crossed for you. I'll join in on the egg dance with pom poms!

I'm now home from EC, thank you for your kind thoughts Smile I was nervous but I was out like a light, don't remember a thing and surprisingly feel OK. Almost wondering if the procedure went ahead!! I felt really emotional when I came round and I cried Blush they collected 10 eggs so will hear tomorrow for news. Currently lying on the sofa with MapleCat who has (un)helpfully been kneading my tum. Have sent DH out for supplies!

tickingcl0ck · 18/05/2017 16:15

maple thats wonderful news! Here's hoping for tomorrow's call for you!

ugh I couldnt post at all on mumsnet via mobile. Anyone having the same problems?

Lily35 · 18/05/2017 17:02

Maple - well done! Doing a continuous egg dance here for you and Chivin
I hope tomorrow brings good news on fertilisation!

Chivin - how you holding up??

Karen - how are you feeling about your first injection? Hope you are all set? It's really easy and you'll soon be in the swing of things.

How is everyone else? I am afraid I am getting lost with where everyone is up to! I'm ok today - full DR bleed in flow. It's lovely. Not! Seem to have a lack of energy and motivation! And mood is a bit low - but it's not too bad. Did some yoga at lunch and that made me feel re-energised.
I have acu session at lunch tomorrow too - I do highly recommend it. She used moxibustion on me last week and it was fabulous!! I felt refreshed and calm all afternoon and slept heavily. I don't think it's too late to start it - although my lady said during DR you want one session per week and same through stims, and she is doing a acu session after ET for me too. I am not doing the pre ET one as that will stress me out too much trying to fit it in.

79Karen · 18/05/2017 18:43

Argh been struggling to post on here all day, wrote a long post earlier on my phone but it doesn't work?

Good luck to everyone who's EC or ET'ing. Ash sorry to hear your news, hope he find work very soon. Chivin my fingers and toes are crossed for you.

Lily nervous and excited to start tomorrow, saying that I'm having a scratch and saline test first thing tomorrow so I don't get the actual go ahead to start until I've had the all clear from the saline test. I had a polyp removed last September and they want to double check that everything is fine. I think it will be fine though.

blackcherries · 18/05/2017 23:27

hi all. Not been on this thread much recently but looks like everyone's busy at last!
I'm getting a frostie transferred tomorrow. Have had an eventful few days with other stuff so keep forgetting that it's actually finally happening!! Was in a place with no mobile reception for a few days and got a call from the embryologist, was worried I'd gotten the wrong date or something but all just checking for tomorrow.
Getting bloated again from the pessaries but have been glad not to have had EC to deal with this time round.
We've all been ill in the last few weeks so hoping that's that over with and I stay fit and well for the near future. Had a horrible time a few days before testing date on last cycle.

maplebaby · 19/05/2017 10:45

Chivin any news?

Lily the acu sounds great! I tried it for a while but unfortunately it wasn't for me but I know lots of people who find it beneficial! Never tried the moxibustion though!

Karen hope the saline and scratch went ok this morning!

Blackcherries good luck for transfer today! Hope it goes smoothly, let us know when you are PUPO!

AFM I had "the call". 7 eggs fertilised! They will update me on Sunday with a chance they will transfer then but hoping for a 5 days transfer Smile

Lily35 · 19/05/2017 10:54

Amazing news Maple! Good luck today Blackcherries, hope it all goes smoothly!

79Karen · 19/05/2017 12:39

Maple that's great news Blackcherries hope today goes well.

I've had a pretty disappointing morning, went for saline and scratch, started with a scan where almost instantly he says he can see shadowing and my lining of 14mm is too thick for where it should be. So the saline confirmed a massive polyp pretty much filling my uterus. So won't be starting anything soon. I know it's good this is found now but to provide a (brief) back story, I went through this about 10 months ago at a regular NHS hospital as part of my pre referral appointments. Polyp found, removed using 'state of art' procedure, was pretty painful but promised it was all gone etc. Today I get told for they type of polyp I've got it's needs to be removed in a specialist way, under general and what I had before only took the top off!! He said ivf would never have worked as my uterus is full of polyp so I am so pleased it's been found before I start but I was promised it was gone last year. So 4/5 week wait for the op now, then period after that, start pill again and 21 days from there I can begin DR probably about 3 months time grrrrr!!

Sorry for the rant just really disappointed everything takes so long.

Lily35 · 19/05/2017 14:24

Ah Karen so sorry it was disappointing today. That is so frustrating! And sounds similar to what happened to me as well so I know how you must be feeling today.
Nov last year I went for my ivf consultation and they said I had hydro on both tubes and needed a lap to remove both of them. The wait for the op was 4 months, thankfully I got in sooner (and both tubes were fine) but it put me back by 6 months.
When you are all ready to start and you get a set back like this it's so annoying. Did they say all would be ok to proceed straight after it is removed (all of it this time)?
