I know we are only partway through February, but I'm down to start our 2nd round of IVF once my period starts at the end of this month, so thought I'd start a cycle buddies thread now as I gear up..!
Our history is that we have a 3.5yo DS, naturally conceived, but have been trying for a sibling for 2 years now... we had an ectopic pregnancy just over a year ago, but after that nothing... so as I'll be 40 next month, we decided there wasn't time to waste anymore and had all the tests last year but we are 'unexplained'... so we had a cycle of IVF in November/December but sadly was unsuccessful as ended in a chemical pregnancy. So here we go again - fingers crossed it's 2nd time lucky...! If anyone else is starting soon then would be great to have the support! Xx

Clinic just rang and we doing the embryo transfer today! Said they weren't developing as quickly as they'd like so would be happier if they are put in today. Plus doing a double embryo transfer. Is that good or bad? Doesn't that mean they don't think it would work with just one? Feeling confused

Hhno2 · 24/03/2017 08:32

Hi Jodybug good luck today!!!!! They are just giving you a greater chance of success I wish we had two put in!! You will be fine don't worry they wouldn't go ahead with it if they didn't think they were good enough. Keeping fingers crossed for you x

geeup · 24/03/2017 09:01

Good luck Jody!

Wanda354 · 24/03/2017 09:25

Good luck today Jody

jodybug0908 · 24/03/2017 09:27

Thank you xxx I'm so nervous I'm at the hospital already.......2 hours early hahaha. But I have to peer an hour before so best that I'm here for that than stuck on a train haha

jodybug0908 · 24/03/2017 09:32

Is it true that laughter helps implantation? It's comic relief tonight! What should I do for the 2WW? Foods to avoid? Spend whole time with my feet over my head? Hahahaha

jodybug0908 · 24/03/2017 12:49

Just a a waiting game now! Can do a test on 6 April! Going home to put my feet up and watch a Disney film lol

blackcherries · 24/03/2017 14:38

good luck jody!
Thanks for all your good wishes. It really means a lot when we haven't talked about it to many people in real life.
Official test date is April 1st... hmmmm!

geeup · 24/03/2017 15:12

Hobbes I had my first response scan today and only have 4 follies on one side and 1 on the other. Feeling very old and shit generally. They're whacking up my stims to try and get a few more but I don't feel very hopeful. I know it's quality over quantity but they seemed surprised that my numbers were so rubbish Sad

Hobbes39 · 24/03/2017 17:13

Well done Jody - no advice on 2ww other than to be as normal as possible without overdoing it - the way I see it, if it's going to stick it will whether you have a curry or whatever or not!
Geeup - aww, I hear you! Try to stay positive - it's hard I know, as it's so frustrating when things aren't going as you hoped... I know it's not a nice positive outcome entirely, but your numbers are the same as mine were and I did get 2 embryos and did get pregnant, even tho my embryos were not great quality - was just a chemical pregnancy. You could end up with more follicles growing, and with better quality ones, so you can still get there, don't panic xxx. (Easier said than done I know!)
As for me, I'm suffering with gonal F headaches! Ouch! And I'm 40 TODAY (arrrrrrrrgggg) and pretending I'm 32... Wink and frustrated as I can't drink AngryWine. Hope everyone else is ok? X

Happy birthday hobbes - 40 is not old - I turned in august last year and refuse to believe I am old!!
geeup - try and stay positive as others have said, it only takes 1 remember.
blackcherries and wanda partner - hope you're feeling ok
Sorry for anyone I've missed, on my phone and hard to see
As for me - spotting stopped (thank goodness) been quite active today gardening so feeling achy. Slouched on the sofa with comic relief

Hello. Can I sneak in late! Ive done a few cycles on threads here on Mumsnet, but somehow this one didn't feel real.
I'm on for a ET on Monday after a pretty medicated cycle to try and improve my lining. Had 2 failed FETs due to a bad lining, and I made them cancel the last one as it looked the same (6-7mm). But this time it looks good! 8mm after just a week, and we are good for transfer on Monday. Feeling slightly more optimistic than last time.
Transfer under GA due to some other issues, so I'll get a nice nap too. :)

bjonesreborn · 24/03/2017 22:15

Welcome kmmr good luck for Monday x

Wanda354 · 25/03/2017 07:06

Hello kmmr. Hope all goes well for you on Monday.

Hobbes, 40 is not old! I am 41 and have concluded that as I'm not yet half way through the adult stage of my life, I can't yet be middle aged. That's for the over-50s! I'm sure when I get to 50 I'll have found a way to push it back further.

Jody, hope all is well with you and you're having a good rest and enjoying lots of Netflix on your 2WW.

jodybug0908 · 25/03/2017 07:24

Thanks all xxxx yup resting well! Found a Disney box set to keep me going! Need to try to get back on the healthy eating too! Nerves have meant I've eaten a lot of rubbish recently!

Annab1983 · 25/03/2017 08:20

Hi everyone can I ask about your funded cycles? I see a lot of people talking about follicle sizes and womb lining mm and literally these things have never been mentioned to me, is this usual as it's not private treatment? I am not complaining as so far it's been good news each time (am going in for day 5 transfer!) but am worried no one has mentioned womb lining quality for example.. or are they looking at these things each time and only mentioning it if there is an issue?
I have thankfully got through so many hurdles so far so am obsessing a bit that no one seems to care if womb lining is ok, i.e. One of the last hurdles.. and I have had some unusual spotting at times which thankfully hasn't affected things so far but might affect implantation.. I also have endometriosis and adenomyosis, who can tell I am freaking out about transfer?! 🙂 This is such a stressful and rollercoaster of a process I never fully understood it before. So sorry we are all here but hopefully it will all be worth it tenfold!

Ozzyboo · 25/03/2017 11:32

Hi all,

This is my first time writing on anything like this. I am such a private person and find it hard to talk to anyone about our ivf journey but really struggle with it so I thought I would give this a go!

I am 29 and my partner is 34 and we have just started our first round of ivf! We have been ttc for around 3 years, and had an eptopic pregnancy last year. I have endometriosis so have scar tissue in both tubes.

Day 1 of my period was March 4th and I went in yesterday for the endo scratch and started my suprecur this morning. I am so excited but also very nervous Confused

Really wanting to chat with people in the same position as me as like I said I struggle to talk to friends and family.

jodybug0908 · 25/03/2017 11:42

I'm totally freaking out. Was reading the leaflet after embryo transfer and symptoms to look out for. It says to contact them if you have had diarrhoea on more than one occasion. I've had it twice today! I rang the emergency number and no one is answering it! Getting myself all worked up now!

blackcherries · 25/03/2017 14:08

jody I've not heard anything about that, what does it say it's a symptom of? I'm sure you'll be fine but good luck in getting through.

welcome ozzy and best of luck.

annab no-one has mentioned measurements of womb lining to me. I imagine if it's fine they're just not mentioning it. I did get all my follice measurements but then went home worrying about them even though I had no context for them so probably they're trying to avoid that!

geeup · 25/03/2017 19:51

Welcome ozzy. Anything you want support/thoughts on?
Annab - I suspect they told me my folly sizes and lining thickness because they needed to change my drugs and wanted to explain why. If they're not telling you they hopefully it's because yours is going very well!

Hhno2 · 25/03/2017 20:38

Hi jodybug ive had that before when I spoke to the nurse the issue is more dehydration so just stay hydrated and try to rest as much as possible maybe have a peppermint tea? Just don't stress!!! Fingers crossed for you!

Hhno2 · 25/03/2017 20:39

I'm on day 3 of tww now and still trying to rest but find it hard to stay still I end up cleaning or cooking! Feel nothing so far but trying to stay calm I don't know what to look out for!!!!!

Hhno2 · 25/03/2017 20:42

Hi ozzyboo! Wishing u luck! How long are you on supercur for? I was on that also now taking the progesterone injections whilst on tww my tummy is like a pin cushion! Keep alternating sides that's my advice x

jodybug0908 · 25/03/2017 20:53

Thanks xx I've been drinking loads today so hoping it gets better. Also panicking as I've eaten a lot of rubbish last few days. Hope that won't have messed it up too. Onto soups and leafy veg tomorrow!
