IVF Cycle buddies March/April

I know we are only partway through February, but I'm down to start our 2nd round of IVF once my period starts at the end of this month, so thought I'd start a cycle buddies thread now as I gear up..!
Our history is that we have a 3.5yo DS, naturally conceived, but have been trying for a sibling for 2 years now... we had an ectopic pregnancy just over a year ago, but after that nothing... so as I'll be 40 next month, we decided there wasn't time to waste anymore and had all the tests last year but we are 'unexplained'... so we had a cycle of IVF in November/December but sadly was unsuccessful as ended in a chemical pregnancy. So here we go again - fingers crossed it's 2nd time lucky...! If anyone else is starting soon then would be great to have the support! Xx

Hi everyone! Been catching up.

kmmr and geeup, I'm so sorry you've had bad news. It's the worst.

Hobbes, Ozzyboo and others on the 2WW, wishing you all the very best of luck.

I am hoping to do an FET cycle in May, though still waiting for AF to appear. Called clinic today and they said it could take up to 2 weeks.

blackcherries · 10/04/2017 20:59

Hi all... going to skip over to the May thread (if there is one) but wanted to update. Following chemical preg after icsi a week or so ago we wanted to get back in and use one of our 3 frosties asap in a FET.
FC was nice and reassuring and pointed out it was amazing to be in a position of having 3 in the freezer.

They basically gave us the choice of whether to have a natural or controlled cycle. But as we're impatient we're going for a controlled cycle - even though this adds an extra month to it, doing a natural one straight away wasn't thought to be a good idea (as having had cp, ovulation might be up in the air this cycle so should wait a month if going for natural). I was a little worried about what would happen if I didn't ovulate or missed it, so thought better to go for controlled cycle - taking the norithisterene(?), buserelin and some oestrogen (no expensive and gruelling stims!).

They said we could go ahead and try naturally this cycle even though could be taking buserelin etc from day 21...? They advised to test early if doing so. I'm sure last time round the nurse told us not to but they have 'played safe' on other occasions before (e.g. told not to try after having HSG when the consultant said it was fine). Just wondering if anyone else had been told this was ok?
And we're going to go all in and go for endometrial scratch and embryo glue even though the latter isn't really thought to work particularly well, in the grand scheme of things it's affordable so want to give it all we can. Hope we're not going ott...

wanda may see you on the May thread then!

Ozzyboo · 10/04/2017 21:39

Great to hear from you Blackcherries and glad your back up and at it! Good luck with your FET x x x

Hobbes39 · 10/04/2017 21:56

Hi blackcherries - good to hear you are feeling more positive, good luck with the FET and let us know how you are getting on xxx

geeup · 10/04/2017 22:11

Good luck blackcherries. Might see you there! Speaking to the clinic on Friday to confirm my inevitable negative pregnancy test (definitely still having my period) and they've said after that I am book into after again the following period. Due next AF after this one on 6th may so thinking I'll start downregging end of may if I do long protocol again. Good luck!
Hope - congrats on being PUPO! Hope it goes well for you. Fingers crossed!

geeup · 10/04/2017 22:12

That didn't make any sense but I meant I can book in for another cycle when my next period starts after this one I'm having now.

bjonesreborn · 10/04/2017 22:12

blackcherries and wanda great to hear from you both. Onwards and upwards and best of luck. Xxx

Dreamt of a BFP last night and telling all my work colleagues 😩 it was so real!!!!

Hobbes39 · 11/04/2017 09:52

Morning!
Ozzy -hopefully that's a good sign Smile
It's so hard to keep your head anything like sane during this process imo... I'm all over the place at the moment! Yesterday was a really good day as I felt so positive after finding out about my frozen embryo, but today feeling less positive and that's all because my boobs feel less sore 🙄. Feels so daft as I know there is no way of knowing yet, but I still veer wildly between being convinced it has to have worked to feeling that it can't have...! Confused
Hope everyone else is remaining calmer than me and doing ok? X

bjonesreborn · 11/04/2017 11:04

Oh hobbes I could have written your post! I'm totally all over the place. I've never even been pregnant so have no idea how I should be feeling even though I'm only on day 3 after transfer. I've got a bit of a tummy ache but never normally get that when af is appearing. My boobs haven't hurt at all. Trying to think positive but also wondering how on earth it could work when we've been trying for 2 years and there's nothing wrong with either of us. Think I'll be better next week (well - hoping!) as I'll be back at work and busy.
Let's hope someone's along to cheer us up soon.
Hope everyone is ok, slightly lost track, has anyone got scans or anything today? X

bjonesreborn · 11/04/2017 11:26

ozzy dreams can come true. 5 years ago I dreamt my best friend was pregnant. Called her to tell her and she went very quiet. She was but wasn't at the announcing stage. Keep hoping she'll call me with news about me this week 😂

BeePositive · 11/04/2017 12:41

It's so hard not to be all over the place and constantly thinking 'what if?'... I'm not even post-ET yet, and thinking of you ladies lots. Hoping when I'm in my 2ww that you will each have some BFP's to be shouting about! Halo

Hobbes39 · 11/04/2017 12:42

Bjones - sorry you are having the crazy swinging thoughts too, but glad it's not just me. FWIW I have now been 'pregnant' 3 times - once my DS, once my ectopic and once with the chemical last IVF, and I can't say that I had consistent symptoms across any of them, other than the first 2 being a lack of period when it was due, but that was it.. I often have sore boobs prior to my period, and def had that with my DS, but obviously that means it could be either, so I know that the symptoms aren't anything to go by, but yet.... Confused I think I'm crazy...!

OP posts:
Ozzyboo · 11/04/2017 15:51

It's enough to make you go crazy isn't it?! I've only been 'pregnant' once with my ectopic and had absolutely no symptoms.
This is my first IVF but I know how nuts I'll be going on my 2ww judging by the last 3 years every time my period was due.. if it was a minute late I was convinced I was pregnant and then always left heartbroken when it inevitably arrived! It's an awful feeling and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy but it is comforting to know I'm not the only crazy lady out there 🙈 x x

Hope2409 · 11/04/2017 16:01

Hi all, sorry to hear your all a bit all over the place today, i'm sure i will be joining you in a few days but i'm only on day 1 so staying optimistic! I've never even had a whiff of a BFP so have no idea how i should/shouldnt feel but know i will be driving myself crazy with symptoms and what ifs!

Went back to work today, was dreading it but actually it was a nice distraction and its only a 3 day week so not too bad.
Had a nice phone call this morning too to say one of our embryos has made it to be frozen and is a grade A, really pleased!
How ironic that the 2 that went back were a worst grade then next day this one perks up and is better!
X

BeePositive · 11/04/2017 16:02

Ha ha, yes Ozzyboo and Hobbes - we can all be crazy ladies together! Definitely need some forum to share my cray-cray and not overwhelm family or friends, especially during upcoming 2ww!

bjonesreborn · 11/04/2017 17:00

hope that's fantastic that you have a little frostie too. Sounds like you are the sane one out of us at the moment!
Glad I am not alone!!

Ozzyboo · 11/04/2017 17:43

Brilliant news hope, so pleased for you 🤗

Days are going so slowly, it's only a week till EC and keep thinking to myself this time next month I'll have an answer but it just seems so far away.. I want to know now! Just keep thinking 1 day till next scan then after that 2 days till next scan etc.. doing it step by step

bjonesreborn · 11/04/2017 18:26

That's exactly what I did ozzy day by day step by step and thank full for every stage we reached.
Now, however I'm the most impatient person on the planet! Want it to be OTD now, just want to know!!!

Hobbes39 · 11/04/2017 18:49

Hope - that's brilliant news! Well done Smile fingers crossed you won't need it (not for this child Wink) but I definitely know how good it feels to have a back up! X

Grin i'm sure my sanity wont last long bjones i just ticked day 1 of the dreaded wait off the calender and next friday feels like ages away!!!
I've booked next friday off work as last time i had to go in to work and i struggled so i figured whatever the outcome this time i would like to be safely tucked away at home!

I did the same ozzy after each injection i ticked it off on my drug schedule counting till the next stage, next scan etc..... each step was a step closer.
I think thats what IVF becomes, a series of steps overcoming each one, one at a time until we hopefully reach our goal!

hobbes yes it does feel good to have a frostie strangely like a bit of relief, takes some pressure off of the 2ww knowing there's a way forward either way.

Ooooo check me out being all positive today Smile

Ozzyboo · 12/04/2017 10:01

Just had my scan - mostly double figures, one 8 couple of 9's and a 12 & a 14! Don't know what this means but she seemed pleased 😊 next scan on Friday!
