We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

hope i feel the same way about work babies. I had to go sit through a 2 hour work baby shower the day after transfer. I barely made it through. People who have ever had fertility problems have no idea how painful it is for some of us. Flowers

Good luck for stabbing tomorrow gee! It's not as bad as it sounds. You'll do great!!!

Hope2409 · 01/03/2017 22:47

No your right blue people have no idea what it's like, it can be heartbreaking but we sit and put our brave face on!
I work with babies everyday as i'm a room leader of a baby room, i find it really tough when i'm going through a cycle.

Sorry to hear about your bfn today, it is too early though and those few days could make all the difference, keeping everything crossed for you Flowers

Well done kct thats great news, hope you get your 5 day transfer x

Good luck for tomorrow gee its really not so bad! Do you have to mix your own or is it an injector pen thing? X

geeup · 02/03/2017 08:22

For buserelin I just have to draw up my dose from the bottle into the needle but no mixing until I do the menopur for stims. Feeling ok about the first one this evening - half I did a test one at the clinic so I know what to expect.

maplebaby · 02/03/2017 16:30

Blue hoping you just tested early and you will have good news tomorrow! It's still early so you never know - fingers crossed!

Hooray kct! Hope they make it to 5 days!

Happy stabbing today gee! The first is the worst, you'll be just fine!

I just had my appointment - have to wait till my April period so won't downreg until end of April. I'm disappointed as I really hoped to start in march but DH said it was sooner than he thought so is feeling positive! So won't be joining you gee but cycling with you star perhaps??

bluebird3 · 02/03/2017 18:53

Thanks maple. Another negative today. I feel prepared for it to not have worked, so a Bfp now would be a happy surprise. I'm sure I'll still have down moments but I don't think I'll have a complete breakdown which is what I was expecting if I got another bfn.

It's too bad you have to wait an extra month but it will be here before you know it. I had my heart set on cycling in Jan but we had to wait till February. I always think things happen for a reason. More time to prepare...eating healthy etc.

Ahh blue don't loose hope I agree with maple!
Maybe it's just too early everything crossed for you!

Thanks maple I too hope they go to day five :-) should know in the morning.

Good luck with your stabbing gee hope all goes well for you!

Hope everyone else is doing good too

geeup · 02/03/2017 20:15

First stabbing complete. Bit itchy now but it didn't hurt which was a success! 1 down, eleventy billion to go! Thanks for your thoughts!

bluebird3 · 03/03/2017 06:35

Well done gee. Now the first is done the rest will be a breeze.

It's my OTD and I got a BFN. Not a hint of a squinter. Happy birthday to me. SadSadSad

I'm so sorry blue. That's the shittiest birthday ever so I'm not going to even say "happy" birthday. All I'll say is we're all thinking of you and hope you can find a bit of happiness in a really difficult day. Hope you have something you'll enjoy planned.

SharyBobbins · 03/03/2017 12:43

I'm so sorry Blue xx

justtheonethen · 03/03/2017 13:11

blue I'm so sorry. That's shit Flowers
Maybe this year you celebrate your birthday a week later. Can you book a weekend away or something to treat yourself?

star1980 · 03/03/2017 13:44

I'm so so sorry to hear that blue. What rotten timing Flowers Please look after yourself and take some time to wallow. I second shary's suggestion of celebration no in a few days when you're a bit recovered. Know we're all thinking of you.

Well done Gee! How long are you on buserelin for? I did 16 days before starting gonal f.

Congratulations kct! Hope you're going to 5 days, but if not good luck with transfer today Smile

Maple, think you'll be ahead of me. I'll have to wait until at least my April period which is mid-April so downreg will be early May. Urgh, the waiting is so boring isn't it!

kctks2017 · 03/03/2017 17:22

Sorry about your* news blue* thinking of you x

On the other hand ladies I'm getting my 5 day transfer.

How's it going with the stabbing gee?
I was the same I found it really itchy doesn't last for too long thou :-) happy stabbing.

How's everyone else doing hope your all well x

geeup · 03/03/2017 17:50

16 days of buserelin before i start menopur. Weirdly I'm looking forward to my 7.30 stab. Only time of day that feels like I'm doing anything!
Saw my best friend today and basically lied and said we're still thinking about whether to do ivf. I haven't decided yet if I want anyone to know. They'll probably guess as I did tell my close group of friends we were on the waiting list but it seems terribly unfair that other people get to have this lovely secret and then announce at 3 months when everything is safe and if you tell people about ivf they know as soon as you do. What have you all done?

maplebaby · 03/03/2017 17:58

Ah blue I'm so sorry it didn't work out Flowers take care of yourself, luckily it's the weekend and hope you don't have to face too many people (unless it helps to be distracted as much as you can be).

Glad to hear you will get your 5 day transfer kct - is that on Sunday?

Gee not many people know my end, my close family do, and my bosses and best friend but that is it.

Here here to the boredom star! Just sick of all the waiting.

Hope2409 · 03/03/2017 19:13

I'm so sorry blue that really is rubbish, look after yourself Flowers

kct great news on the 5 day transfer x

kctks2017 · 03/03/2017 19:45

Yeah maple they said I have two that are really good but they don't know which one to pick so they wanna wait till the 5th day so hopefully it will work.

Londonjam · 04/03/2017 11:10

Hi guys can I join please?

Trying for our first with low morphology male factor. We saw the consultant for our initial appointment on Thursday who told us we need IVF ICSI. Both pretty devastated by it - especially the waiting list part which is 6-8 months. We have to wait for our test results (another SA and bloods) before we join the queue - I'm trying to speed this bit up.

DH and I are talking about saving to pay for a cycle or two seeing as the NHS wait is so long. Is anyone else here doing it privately? I think we will need to look overseas.

So sorry you had a BFN on your birthday blue 😔

Well done getting started with injections gee I hope it's going alright

On telling people - I'm just struggling with that. I've told two close friends and that's it. I'm thinking about telling my mum but she's very likely to tell her sister who will tell her daughters. I don't want the whole family knowing. Plus it's male factor and I don't know how DH feels about them all knowing that.

With timings gee if you wanted friends to know you are going through IVF could you just be really vague about dates and what happens when? I think most people don't know the ins and outs of it.
