Hello,

Is anyone else about to start a cycle?
I start down regulating on Sunday, estimated embryo transfer week beginning 21st Nov, this will be my first round of IVF/ICSI after 3.5 years trying to concieve.

Mixture of emotions, excited to be starting after waiting so long to get here, nervous about side effects of drugs and injecting and terrified it wont work! The joys of infertility!

Xxx

Thanks or all the messages ladies, it genuinely helps!

Hopeful for Wednesday.

blue that's a really good question, I'll add it to my list for Wednesday.

Sounds daft, but Whenever I have pain killers, sedation etc, I always need more than usual - dentist swears I have a very high tolerance for anaesthetic- wonder if general, my body needs a lot of prompting? Or maybe I'm scraping the bottom of the hope and excuses barrel! 🤔

Blueroses99 · 17/10/2016 12:52

Glass haven't heard that before but it could be something like that. What dose of Gonal F are you on?

glasshalfsomething · 17/10/2016 15:15

I'm on 300, and they've increased me to 375 for next two days...

Had one follicle at 16, one at 12 and one at ten (right ovary)
There were 5 at 5 in the left, so hoping they'll mature!

liberte12 · 17/10/2016 15:40

Well I had my appointment.. She did another scan and said that the follicle had grown so she wants me to wait until I come on my period naturally rather than giving me provera. She thinks that I should come on soon and is going to scan me again next week. She gave preliminary dates for EC on wc 14th November so I'm not far behind you guys.
She went through the injections etc oh my I think I blanked out for a while it was so overwhelming I couldn't process how to do it. Think il have to resort to YouTube a lot!

glasshalfsomething · 17/10/2016 15:54

That's good news liberte! Apparently YouTube is really good. Don't worry, once you've done the once, it's second nature.

liberte12 · 17/10/2016 16:03

Thanks Glass here's to our summer bambinos!

Blueroses99 · 17/10/2016 16:14

That sounds promising glass, hopefully the extra dose will get the left side maturing.

Liberte also promising! YouTube all the way, as it's so easy to forget the instructions when you're first told. Hope the period comes on soon so you can get started.

Hope2409 · 17/10/2016 18:56

Evening lovely ladies Smile
Glass so sorry the scan didn't go how you wanted it to today, hopefully the increased meds will get those little follies growing! Smile keep at it!

Liberte I'm sure AF will appear for you very very soon!

I've had the most loveliest of days. Went to Liverpool shopping with my sister, spent way too much! Shock
Got home and my OH had treated me to a new outfit, dinner at TGI fridays, now I'm sat at home sipping a non alcoholic lager & watching the football!
It's been a nice, relaxed, not stressed about infertility in any way kinda day Smile

Hope all you ladies are OK X

glasshalfsomething · 17/10/2016 21:46

kez hope you don't mind me asking, but are you based near Manchester? The football face it away! Are you at St Mary's?

What a lovely way to spend the day!

kezmarie · 18/10/2016 08:23

Glass no I'm in Shropshire, right on the border of north wales, Liverpool is only a 45 min drive away! Smile

Blueroses99 · 18/10/2016 11:29

Is football teams a give away? 🤔 My DH supports one of the teams playing last night and we live in London!

That sounds like a lovely day kez.

liberte12 · 18/10/2016 11:40

Hi ladies
My drugs got delivered and oh my is there a lot of them!
I'm a bit confused.. Is it just the pregnyl that goes in the fridge? That's the only one that had a sticker to say put in the fridge but what about the merional and cetrotide?

liberte12 · 18/10/2016 11:44

I just realised I asked such a dumb questiom but I still want an answer lol. Infertility sucks.

Blueroses99 · 18/10/2016 12:20

Not a dumb question at all Liberte.

Pregnyl is definitely in the fridge. Merional seems to be the same as Menopur and mine is in the fridge - with the heating on at the moment, I was worried it would go above the 25C recommended room temperature. Dr Google seems to have split opinion on cetrotide - can you call the pharmacy that delivered them for advice?

Blueroses99 · 18/10/2016 12:23

Alternatively look at the info leaflet with the meds and see whether it confirms one way or another. E.g. Buserelin doesn't need to be refrigerated but shouldn't go above 25C so if room temp is higher, best to store in the fridge.

liberte12 · 18/10/2016 14:05

Thanks Blue much appreciated
I think il put the merional in the fridge too coz I don't want to stress about it getting too warm

As for the cetrotide il leave it in a cool place as that doesn't have anything on it.

So many drugs I could open my own pharmacy!!

Blueroses99 · 19/10/2016 08:04

Good luck today glass, hope your follicles have had a major growth spurt!

How's everyone else doing?

liberte12 · 19/10/2016 10:19

Good luck Glass will be thinking of you x

Hope2409 · 19/10/2016 12:52

Good luck Glass xx

Good luck glass hope today went well!!

Hope, I'm ok.. Keeping busy with work and getting things organised for my upcoming holiday to New York! Smile. First scan, blood test and jabs in 6 days! Eeeeeek it's all feeling a bit real now!
How's you ladies?

glasshalfsomething · 19/10/2016 15:44

Thank you lovely ladies! 😘

Some growth, so it's a waiting game until Friday! If they haven't grown enough, we cancel.
Frustratingly, I then need to wait until Jan to try again due to Christmas Holidays!

kezmarie · 19/10/2016 16:46

Glass - I'm glad there's been a little bit of growth!! Keeping everything crossed for nice big follicles on Friday! Smile

Custardandcream · 19/10/2016 17:43

That's great news Glass fingers crossed for Friday.

I'm currently a bit bored to be honest, nearly a week into down reg and my first blood test isn't until a week today. I normally exercise every day so only doing gental exercise is getting on my nerves a bit, but all in a good cause.

kezmarie · 19/10/2016 18:28

Custard I know what you mean!
I'm bored too!
I work full time 6 days a week, also run a little business from home, am in the middle of doing home improvements and I'm off to New York in 4 weeks time - I just want to get started on my injections!
It's like waiting for Christmas, 6 more sleeps SmileSmile
