Blastocysts

EC Fri:
21 eggs
18 mature (ICSI)
14 fertilised

Report today :
2 good quality day 3 embryos frozen BUT then told that the remaining 12 are not looking good. Some slow. Some fragmented. Told not to get hopes up or expect and day5/6 embryos frozen :(

Realistically is there any chance with a day 3 FET ? We so wanted to have some blastocysts (or even just one) for future FET.
It sounded v positive when all 14 had obviously made it to day 3 but actually it sounds like 12 of those 14 are duds?
Any stories of hope out there?

:(

Wow! So you'll know tomorrow?! That's so soon. I have my fingers crossed for you Suzi. Let me know how is goes?

I have to wait until next Thursday- so I'll be one week behind you... X

SuziC1984 · 20/08/2016 08:04

Hiya Mary,

How are you doing? We tested on Thursday as per clinic instructions and got a faint positive line, so went for a blood test yesterday and they confirmed that we are pregnant! I'm over the moon and terrified all at the same time! Going to be taking things extra easy for the next few weeks to make sure all goes well! I've got my fingers crossed for you next week! Xxx

Marybird · 20/08/2016 08:46

WOW! This is such amazing news :) I am so happy for you both - I was thinking about you on Thursday and hoping that you'd received good news. And it's so exciting that it could be twins?!
Thank you...I'm feeling really nervous. I have no idea if it's worked. I'll let you know. In the meantime, just rest and enjoy being pregnant Suzi! xx

LHReturns · 20/08/2016 09:55

Congratulations Suzi!!!! So very very exciting - enjoy the feeling!!

SuziC1984 · 22/08/2016 08:18

Hey ladies,

Hope you are all doing well, how are you all feeling on this Monday morning? Xx

Marybird · 22/08/2016 11:46

So I couldn't wait and tested early today (9dp5dt) and I'm pregnant! I'm so happy and emotional. Obviously it's early days, so I'm also petrified, but it's the closest I've ever got so I'm just going to try to enjoy each day as it comes. It's so weird as the reason I tested is because I feel like I'm about to come on my period, and as I've never done a pregnancy test before I thought it would be better than just waiting for my period. It's odd knowing I am pregnant but still feeling pms! :) How are you Suzi- enjoying your time off? x

SuziC1984 · 22/08/2016 12:07

Amazing news! I'm so pleased for you! That's when I was told to test and I had it confirmed the next day, I think some of the medication makes you feel the PMS feelings too as I've had that also! Although I haven't laid in I haven't really done much this morning, was waiting for the drug delivery as I need more now it's confirmed, but now that's arrived on off to see my gran and cinema later, I've got the date for my first scan now and am waiting for that, so worried that somethings going to change but trying to hard to stay calm! Told some of the family now and it's all sinking in! Can't believe it really!! That baby dust must be floating down 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻 xxx

Marybird · 24/08/2016 10:53

I feel the same Suzi, my scan is on the 5th...I really hope everything is ok. But I think we just have to enjoy every day as much as possible until we get to 12 weeks, then we'll be able to breathe a bit easier!
I'm meeting my friend with her newborn today and I can't wait. For once I'll leave feeling hopeful :)
Hope you're having a good week xx

SuziC1984 · 25/08/2016 19:35

Hey Mary,

How are you getting on? Have you had it confirmed yet? Xx

Marybird · 25/08/2016 19:59

I've taken 4 tests- every day this week, so they said they don't need to. I'm just going in for the 6 week scan. When is yours? I'm so nervous! X

SuziC1984 · 25/08/2016 20:17

8th September so 2 weeks today and I'm really really nervous! Had a couple of tiny bleeds in the last couple days which sends me into panic! 😁 I kind of want to take another test to confirm by unknown that's not needed....just can't wait to see how things are going and make sure all is ok! This week is going slowly as I'm off from work! How many did oh have transfered again? Xx

Marybird · 25/08/2016 20:54

Just one. That's all we got :) My scan was just moved to the same day as yours, how funny!! Let's hope we both get good news.
Don't worry, it's probably the cyclogest...it's normal to bleed. My friend said to me earlier: 'more people have their babies than lose them' and she's so right. We've got this far babe!! X

SuziC1984 · 27/08/2016 09:23

That's true, someone said to me that 75% of all pregnancies come out with a healthy baby, if you had those kind of odds on the lottery you'd be really pleased! Which I thought was right! You got much on this weekend? I'm counting down the days to the 8th now! Let me know how you get on xx

Marybird · 31/08/2016 18:12

I've been using your friend's '75%' quote a lot Suzi to stop myself from worrying :) I'm just mainly relaxing actually - I had to quit my job to do IVF (very unsupportive boss combined with 2 hour commute each way). I'm already going a bit stir crazy but I'm glad I made that decision now it's worked! I think if it hadn't, I'd be losing my mind (I also live opposite a pub so I might have been drunk!)
How are you feeling? My symptoms are mainly tiredness and some moments of quite bad uterus pain, which I hope is all normal. No sickness yet - how about you? I definitely have a weird taste in my mouth constantly, and need to invest in some new bras asap! So painful, hahaha! xx

SuziC1984 · 31/08/2016 18:38

I know the bra feeling! Although I got paid today so that's on my list!

Today I am absolutely shattered, so so tired I kind of can't wait for bed! Although my mum is popping over as is my friend to watch bake off so will just try and chill
Out!

I went back to work yesterday which has done me a lot of good as although I don't love work it's helped fill my time properly and worry less! I'm sure things are going to be ok!

I've felt really sick after driving to work though so not enjoying that feeling very much!

Had a call from the midwife and got an appointment with her so that's making it all feel real! Can't wait until next Thursday to know all is ok but feeling better each day!

Starting to think about the longer term which is exciting! Just keeping positive and trying to stay away from the Facebook IVF forum as I get worried after being on there!

Xxx

Marybird · 31/08/2016 18:58

I had a 2 hour nap today (probably just because I could) and I still feel tired. You're amazing!
I am majorly craving sugar this week...normally I never want sweet stuff, I don't know how I'll get through the bake off without rushing out to buy a cake ;)
Oh you're so lucky you have a midwife appointment! I haven't heard a peep from my clinic. Though I did ICSI out of county, so I reckon if all looks fine next Thursday, they'll refer me to my county clinic afterwards.
You're right, I have to stay positive! Currently Googling small cars (I have a tiny drive) with boots big enough for a buggy. Positive thinking all the way!
Hope you sleep well xx

SuziC1984 · 02/09/2016 07:46

Hey, so are you having to go abroad for your scan? Where did oh have your treatment? Xx

Marybird · 05/09/2016 09:26

No, just in a different county. We live in Surrey so that's where our funding comes from but I had my ICSI treatment in London as that was where we were living when we started the investigations. I think after this scan, they sign me back over to Surrey (so no more 1 hour train journeys to each appointment!)
I had to go into the hospital this weekend as I was bleeding, luckily everything was fine though. I got to see the little sack, but no heartbeat yet, hoping that it will appear by Thursday :) I wish I could just wake up and be 12 weeks pregnant...hope you're feeling ok. I've started to get evening sickness, haha. I feel fine in the morning, but by 3pm I start to feel really sick, hoping its all a good sign xx

SuziC1984 · 05/09/2016 12:29

Hey Mary, this bleeding lark is scary stuff! Let's hope that stops soon! I see about your treatment, obviously read that wrong, whoops! What time is your scan?
I literally can't wait to 12 weeks as sure I'll be less scared then! Glad all is ok for you though :-) xx

Marybird · 05/09/2016 13:13

Thanks! It was just a tiny bit of spotting, it stopped after a few minutes but I wanted to make sure...
My scan is at 2.30pm - what time is yours? x

SuziC1984 · 05/09/2016 13:28

1pm.....I literally can't wait! 3 days and counting!! Praying for a heartbeat too!

Marybird · 05/09/2016 14:29

I think you'll have one (or two!!). You're a week ahead of me :) So excited, keep me updated xx

SuziC1984 · 05/09/2016 19:00

Every time I start to get excited I keep having these. Small bleeds and get so worried I'm praying that it's all normal
But can't help but panic! 😁😁😁

Marybird · 06/09/2016 15:14

My friend bled on and off for 12 weeks and has a 3 month old baby girl now. I met up with them this morning and she told me not to panic, she said it's totally normal!! Not that us fertility ladies ever listen to that advice ;)

SuziC1984 · 06/09/2016 20:40

Less than 2 days to go to scan! I literally can't wait to see all is ok! So worried still! Xx
