Did my first needle tonight was so nervous was about to inject myself when I dropped the needle, had to get it ready again, then I just paused when I had to inject myself hovering the needle over my stomach, I couldn't mentally do it, it was like being in a dream where you cant run any faster, I held my breath and did it, I didnt feel a thing, not even when I pushed the liquid in. Will keep posting how it all goes, would love to hear from other people..

I think you are going too be fine this cycle, it sounds like they learned a lot from your last cycle so I imagine they will fine tune your doses.

I'm doing ok on the 2ww, better than I thought. I've accepted it just takes a certain amount of time before testing is sensible and I don't want to upset myself unnecessarily. Also I am almost more scared of a false positive from the trigger shot!

I used to listen to a relaxation meditation cd during downreg and some of stims, it really relaxed me. Might be good for you?

Hyland · 23/11/2015 08:54

Morning girls, i managed to get a cancellation appointment for this week.

So lets see if they sgree to go again this cycle.

bananafish81 · 23/11/2015 11:27

Thanks Amara. Rationally I know I’m in brilliant hands with my consultant, and if he thinks LP is the right option to try this time, then no reason I should be overly apprehensive. I started off on max stims (450iu Gonal-F), so panicking a bit that there’s not much headroom if I don’t initially respond to the sledgehammer dose of stims. Although as I was only that dose for 4 days (and was then dropped down dropped down to 300u and then 225iu, to avoid overcooking the follies), then it might just be I need to stim a bit longer if I’m slow to respond. Need to stop second guessing and just remember that I have a brilliant doc who’ll fine tune it all as needed, as you so rightly say. Thanks for the kick up the arse!! Smile

Thanks for the tip - I’m all over the hypno / relaxation MP3s, they’re brilliant to listen to at bedtime to help me get off to sleep, I find them really calming. Some are for downregging, others for stimming, and others for pre/post transfer and the 2ww. Have my different playlists, my anally-retentive organisational tendencies find this most pleasing Grin

The Zita West one for the 2ww is supposed to be brilliant, I also bought the Circle and Bloom programme which has different tracks for different days throughout the whole cycle. Sounds like you’re doing absolutely brilliantly - keeping everything crossed for you xx

Hyland that sounds really encouraging, v best of luck, do keep us posted xx

Wispin · 23/11/2015 19:26

Thats great Hyland xxxxx tell us how it goes and what they say..I forgot to mention my other two eggs didn't make it, both poor quality, couldn't even freeze them...ItS my 40th birthday on Wednesday and test day on Friday..xxx

Wispin: Here's hoping that you get a wonderful late birthday present on.

Fingers crossed for you and Amara.

Bananafish: I should probably be joining the group again for a second cycle. Assuming I'm on a 21 day protocol, i should start injections on 7th December. You'll probably be almost done by then I'm guessing.

Hyland · 23/11/2015 20:29

Wispin: Did they say what grade they were to be deemed poor quality.

Or perhaps you meant that just degenerated!

I only ask as I wonder if different clinics have different ideas about egg quality.

Wispin · 23/11/2015 20:50

Out of the remaining eggs one progressed a little further but they just said the egg was poor quality...the other one didn't move forward so was unusable, I was lucky to get one out of the 4...I didn't even ask what grade they were, they told me over the phone..they Said they would not survive the freezing process.

How are you feeling in general about the whole thing.

bananafish81 · 24/11/2015 11:12

Big hugs Wispin. Can I just check you’re talking about embryos and not eggs? Realise it must be a massive blow, but having spoken to several friends who are or have been cycling in the near and distant past, very very few had anything left over for the freezer. But many of those cycles where there weren’t any frosties still went on to be successful - i.e. nothing for the freezer, but the embryos transferred went on to become people!

Really hoping you get a birthday BFP xxx

Hyland that’s really interesting that you’re going to be cycling so soon - excited to have a cycle buddy! I was very very surprised to be going again so soon - I was expecting to have to follow the general rule of 2 natural periods before cycling again - so didn’t think I’d be able to go again until the new year. I started stimming late Sept and egg collection was early October - now 6 weeks later I’m down regulating and hopefully will start stimming next week. So would be hopefully looking at egg collection mid Dec - so should very much be cycle buddies Smile

Did they say why you’re able to go again so soon? Mine was because of my very diminished reserves, and taking advantage of my ovaries still being slightly stimulated meaning we should hopefully have more follicles in the starting block for this time around. Really pleased you’re getting cracking xxx

Hyland · 24/11/2015 12:20

They told me it was more about the individuals emotional state and whether they needed time to get over the failed cycle. In the open evening I attended originally i was also told that you can go again as soon as they have a slot available to see you.

So unless i get told this week that there is a good reason why I should wait longer, have to wait and see.

Bubble2608 · 24/11/2015 14:08

Hi I have egg collection tomorrow but now really really scared. They gave me a tablet called cabergoline which has made me really sick and I feel terrible so now
Told to stop taking them. Panicking even
More about OHSS now. Has anyone else has bad reaction to this drug. I am 41 and was fine up to yesterday :( they say I am slightly at risk as responded well x

Hyland · 25/11/2015 19:43

Hi Bubble how did egg collection go?

Do you feel better today?

Unfortunately I dont know what cabergoline is? was it meant to dampen your homone levels or stimulate them?

Bubble2608 · 25/11/2015 21:59

Hello! Egg collection not too bad and thankfully I felt a lot better. The cabergoline is meant to ward off OHSS if they think u may be At risk. They got 22 eggs today, 7 not mature enough and 15 injected so they are going to call us tomorrow to let us know how many (if any) have fertilised. My tummy is really sore at the moment :( x

Hyland · 25/11/2015 23:00

Pleased you're feeling better. I had 7 fertilise out of 11 mature collected. So hopefully you'll get a nice amount tomorrow.

Keep in touch :)

Bubble2608 · 26/11/2015 10:17

Hello clinic called this morning and 12 have fertilised out of the 15 that were mature enough so they are going to call tomorrow with their progress and a possible date for transfer ! x

bananafish81 · 26/11/2015 10:32

Congrats bubbles, that amazing! Excited for you

CD40, 13 days into Buserelin and still no AF. Trying to invoke sod's law by wearing white knickers and no pantliner, and no tampons in my handbag. Still nada.

Bubble2608 · 26/11/2015 10:52

Thank u ladies X feeling overwhelmed so support is amazing xx

Hyland · 26/11/2015 22:05

WIspin: happy birthday for Wesnesday, hope you had a wonderdul day. Wanted to wish you goodluck for tomorrow as well :)

Amara: How are you getting along?

Bubble: you must be so excited, I have my fingers crossed for you to.

Bananafish: Are you expecting you period from taking the buserelin, have i read that correctly?

I had my review today which was free of charge after all! A part of the ICSI package we paid for.

They want me to use frozen eggs and do a frozen cycle and if that fails then we'll do a 2nd fresh cycle.

£1,100 plus £300 approx for drugs (drugs were £1,200 for fresh cycle before).

Plus £900 for the initial freezing which I'm sure we havent paid yet!

Wispin · 26/11/2015 23:11

Thanks Hyland...had a lovely birthday...will let you know tomorrow, feeling optimistic...might not be able to sleep tonight..xxxxxxxxxx

Wispin happy birthday!! Flowers

Amara hope all is going well

Hyland that all sounds really positive. Do you mean a frozen embryo, and doing a FET? Or have you got eggs in the freezer still to be ICSI? Great if you have a frostie, that’s very exciting that you have the option of a FET. If it’s a medicated FET will they be down regging you, or going off a natural cycle? Keeping everything tightly crossed for you

AFM, A period should come given I ovulated earlier this cycle, but it’s now CD 41 and nothing doing. Apparently buserelin can affect your period, but the lining does need to be thin and the ovaries quiet in order to start stimming on long protocol…although given my crappy lining issues, not having had a bleed may not be a problem if there’s nothing to get rid of!! Don’t know- will know more at my appt next week. I emailed the consultant’s secretary in a panic that if I hadn’t had a bleed before the baseline scan on Tues, would that mean the cycle was likely to be delayed and therefore possibly postponed till after Xmas? She asked him and said no it wouldn’t affect my cycle and we’d discuss more at my scan. So, really really hoping we can start stimming as planned. We shall see…

Wispin · 27/11/2015 12:17

Amara123 · 27/11/2015 15:12

Hi ladies

Turns out that this cycle has failed for me. Very sad and not quite ready to think about next steps. Beginning to wonder if I'll ever get to see 2 lines on a pregnancy test ever.

So happy for you Wispin, what a lovely birthday present for you!

banana fingers crossed for you! Good numbers so far which is great!
