Did my first needle tonight was so nervous was about to inject myself when I dropped the needle, had to get it ready again, then I just paused when I had to inject myself hovering the needle over my stomach, I couldn't mentally do it, it was like being in a dream where you cant run any faster, I held my breath and did it, I didnt feel a thing, not even when I pushed the liquid in. Will keep posting how it all goes, would love to hear from other people..

I had my 2nd scan and was told to stay on the drugs right up to Wednesday.

They seemed to think I would have 6 probably to collect, seems a bit low compared to the short cycle !!

Wednesday go for 3rd scan, think my EC will be Friday!

Was given the alternative presciption for the trigger.

Hyland · 16/05/2016 17:24

I meant compared to my first ICSI cycle: long protocol.

Smurfy1981 · 17/05/2016 09:50

bananafish81 · 18/05/2016 11:15

Smurfy don't see why not but best check with your clinic (probably too late if you HD indigestion last night!)

Smurfy1981 · 20/05/2016 07:33

Aaaarrrgghh- i put my back out yesterday and in quite a bit of pain- im sooo annoyed with myself and really hope it doesnt affect transfer 😓😟😡

Hyland · 20/05/2016 16:55

So EC very early this morning.

They collected 15 eggs which is odd as I'm sure I was told to expect 6 pre op.

Although they may not all be mature and then after fertilisation I could have numbers dwindle by tomorrow.

During the procedure I remember waking, complaining it hurt and them keep telling me not to move, maybe I tried to get up, not sure. They told me they gave me extra drugs ... For the pain And to sedate me more I assume, I think.

When i woke up i felt fine just more drowsy than normal and had a drink and a biscuit then felt dizzy and sick whilst talking to the nurse.

She said my blood pressure was a little low, they gave me oxygen and made me lie down again and raised my feet!

I seem to be in a lot of pain this time... I don't remember pain last time at all.

The car journey home was very noticeable with discomfort of my insides cervix and inner walls of where catheter was maybe! Also my tummy is really tender and when i get up or walk.

bananafish81 · 20/05/2016 17:03

Oh smurfy you poor thing! Won't affect outcome other than you feeling a bit rubbish Flowers

Hyland you're an egg laying machine! I imagine you do feel more sore after all those eggs being removed - rest up lovely!

Hyland · 20/05/2016 17:07

Beanhunter and Wispin hope you are both well.

Hope your dad is ok Beanhunter. Totally remember being so upset and all the crying, really feel for you.

Smurfy hope you recover quickly and your back is fixed with a good nights sleep. Hope you get your day 5 Blastocyst transfer. Will you aim to have one or two transferred?

Good Luck to you Bananafish, not long for you now.

beanhunter · 20/05/2016 18:23

Good work hyland - fingers crossed plenty are mature and fertilise for you.

Smurfy - hope you're back is a little better.

Banana - glad things are going well lovely.

Afm now 7dp3dt. Yesterday had cramps and sore boobs but nothing today. Still convinced it's not worked and have been investigating other clinics. Will test over next few days I'm sure, otd is Tuesday.
Hyland dad came home from hospital on weds. Thanks for remembering. Tbh it's more stressful now he's home as he's already up to his old tricks of not coping and lacking insight. It's exhausting. We want him to consider moving to some assisted living place but he's adamant he wants to keep a 4 bed house full of stuff.

Smurfy1981 · 20/05/2016 18:34

Thanks ladies,
Hyland it will only be one transferred I think as I am only 34 x

Smurfy1981 · 21/05/2016 08:53

Just had the call- its transfer day!!!
Any advice ladies x

bananafish81 · 21/05/2016 09:00

Yay! My tips would be; you want medium full bladder, not cross eyed like I did (desperately trying not to piss all over the consultant as the nurse jammed the ultrasound doodah down on my bladder)

Second is - make sure you get a photo of the embryo

Good luck!! X

Hyland · 21/05/2016 09:05

Good Luck Smurfy.

Don't drink to much so that it is unbearable. As they'll scan you whilst placing embryos in.

Take some pillows and lay down in the back of the car if you have a long journey home.

Dont hold any shopping bags today, even if it is just from the supermarket.

Be careful when walking down stairs.
-----------

15 eggs, 11 mature and 7 fertilised.
Very similare to last time (11,10 and 7).

I am 37 am aiming for 2 Blast to transfer and something left to freeze.

Still in a lot of pain, so weird it didnt hurt first cycle: egg retrieval.

Uncomfortable night sleep is an understatement.

beanhunter · 21/05/2016 09:13

Good luck smurfy.

Good news hyland - that's amazing if they told you you might only get 6 eggs.

I'm uncomfy today. Cramps in right and left ovary. Negative tests. Boo.

Smurfy1981 · 21/05/2016 09:13

Wow hyland- fingers crossed for u xx have to ask tho- why careful down stairs and no shopping bags??!!
