Did my first needle tonight was so nervous was about to inject myself when I dropped the needle, had to get it ready again, then I just paused when I had to inject myself hovering the needle over my stomach, I couldn't mentally do it, it was like being in a dream where you cant run any faster, I held my breath and did it, I didnt feel a thing, not even when I pushed the liquid in. Will keep posting how it all goes, would love to hear from other people..

Hi Wispin,

Do you have any idea of numbers yet!

It will be interesting to see if we get higher numbers or better quality eggs or both from SHORT Protocol.

For me I'm wondering if it could be worse as I dont have low AMH nor do I have PCOS. So what benefits this short protocol will have for me, we will see.

I keep writing a long reply/msg but then loosing everything i have typed from bad signal where I live annoyingly.

Hyland · 24/04/2016 13:52

Hi Bananafish,

How frustrating that you cant move on even though emotionally you are to some extent.

I did read one of your messages about you hoping you don't kill another baby! My heart sank and I can only imagine how much you're torturing yourself over it all.

I did type a long msg hoping to distill some hope and strength for you.

My apologies that my stupid phone deleted this as soon as i pressed the Post/send button.

Really hope that things can get going again for you real soon.

Wispin,
How much will the two sessions of acupuncture cost you?

Will you definitely be doing this?

Wispin · 24/04/2016 16:20

Hi I will let you know tomorrow about the follicles...I think the acupuncture is 2 sessions one before egg collection and one after...it's meant to increase the blood flow to the womb.its about £100.00 ...will be interesting to see the results this time round Hyland

Good luck for tomorrow's scan wispin!

Yes will be interesting to see about numbers

Tbh once you've had your first cycle AMH is less relevant than your response in the previous cycle. So even if you're not low AMH but had a poor or suboptimal response to stims on long protocol, someone might do better on short protocol.

Hope you get lots of lovely eggs!

Thanks hyland. It just breaks my heart that we had a good egg, and a good embryo that could have gone the distance but my body let it down. Terrified that was the one good egg we'll ever get!

And that even if we get another, my body won't support it again. Hoping that the combo of ERPC + hysteroscopy + doxycycline + thyroxine + oestrogen pills + oestrogen patches + endometrial scratch + prednisolone + intralipids + injectable progesterone + Cyclogest + aspirin + clexane will do the job for a FET

Hyland · 24/04/2016 16:40

I would ideally like extra support with medication. As it seems extremely odd that i haven't even miscarried in 4 years and 5 months.

Not that i am wishing this upon myself, just purely commenting in my lack of getting anywhere near a positive result.

So the intrapilids and prednisilone etc would be something i had hoped they suggested for me. But it seems without them knowing i need it that don't bother to use with a potential unnecessary attitude/approach.

Hopefully this scratch thingy will work wonders, have read many good things online about womens success.

bananafish81 · 24/04/2016 18:16

The scratch seems to make a really big difference for a lot of people, so here's hoping it's the magic touch for this cycle

Ideally we'd have done a hysteroscopy closer to a transfer cycle, as a uterine biopsy will serve as a turbo scratch. Anyway he'll do a biopsy while he's in there and if need be can do a scratch nearer the time

Hyland · 24/04/2016 18:42

Scratch is suppose to be a week before due on approximately. However I'm convinced i probably ovulated later ao not sure how this will effect when i start the short protocol. Guess I will find out tomorrow when I have the coordination appointment and the scratch.

Anyone else fed up:
Don't have sex before saline scan, don't have sex before scratch, don't have sex before ICSI treatment.

When can i have sex lol

On a serious note I don't want to feel emotionally unattached to my partner.

bananafish81 · 24/04/2016 18:58

I think I've probably grown back my virginity

No sex during stims in case something goes wrong on the day and egg collection doesn't happen at the planned time and I ovulate a tonne of eggs and risk becoming octomom (because of course that would be the time I'd fall pregnant the old fashioned way!)

Didn't fancy it in the first trimester as we were too scared of worrying we'd done something if we ended up miscarrying (well that worked out really well then). And in any case progesterone pessaries really not conducive to spontaneous fun times

Then post miscarriage can't until you stop bleeding. And tbh when you're still really really sad it's not really top of the list

It's ironic that once you get into fertility treatment, the baby making process involves the least amount of sex possible Confused

Wispin · 25/04/2016 11:50

Scan results womb lining 8.7. Left can only see 2 - 13mm and 10 MM. Normally only get about three on my left because of the cyst...on my right 14/12/10/12 and a 9 mm ...so looking good so far.. So it's about the same amount as the first time when I was on long protocol..can't believe how quick it's going..this is great.!!

Ha ha pleased it went all ok for you.

I know my consultant is expecting more for us by doing the short pro.

Maybe like BANANAFISH said something to do with down regging and making my ovaries to sleepy.

However i do keep telling myself the usual, it only takes one and its more about quality than numbers.

Off to coordination app and scratch

Hope it doesn't hurt

Wispin · 25/04/2016 17:07

Yes I only had 4 the first time...3 fertilised and one transferred back..which was successful..it's all about the quality and not how many..good luck with the scratch xx

Hi wispin, now u come to mention it I have been a wee bit cosy!! Never thought of linking it!! I had a friend (who is a nurse and her hubby is a gaenocologist) give me my first injection then she came and supervised me do my 2nd on sat, and I have been doing them myself since. Been having a browny discharge since finishing pill, and started a proper bleed last night - which I beleive is normal???!! (Sorry for too much info!!)

Hyland · 26/04/2016 23:06

Hi Smurfy,

You must be feeling excited!

How long have you been - trying to concieve (TTC)?

Are you having ICSI or IVF?

Smurfy1981 · 27/04/2016 08:28

Hi hyland
We have been married for 8 yrs- and i had been off the pill for most of that. Always been one of those that if it happens it happens- but im 34 now and aint gettin any younger pmsl!
Think it is going to be ivf- but they may make the decision nearer the time for sure x

Hyland · 27/04/2016 10:02

So they dont think you have any obvious issues which would prevent you from falling pregnant.

Wispin · 27/04/2016 11:40

Just had 2nd scan lining 13 😆.... left 19/12/12 right 10/18/13/14/12/12 ...not as big as expected..2 good size ones...will probebly move egg collection to a different day..😕

OP posts:
Wispin · 27/04/2016 13:59

OP posts:
Hyland · 27/04/2016 14:13

Yes I was told the same thing about pregnyl out of stock across uk and was told if it's still out of stock nearer the time they will have to give me new prescription for an alternative.

I was worried at first that maybe it had been removed of shelves for a health risk reason. But it seems like just a manufacturing issue! Still seems a little odd lol

WISPIN so EC (egg collection) for you Friday.

Smurfy1981 · 27/04/2016 19:50

Ive got my nxt appointment tmoro. Havnt a scooby what to expext!

Hyland · 27/04/2016 20:38

Did they not give you some sheets explaining the protocol and when what scan or blood test takes place.

Smurfy1981 · 27/04/2016 20:40

They gave me a sheet and put some dates on it when i have to go for scans - but it doesnt really say much else. Im self employed so really needed to know a rough idea of dates to keep my families informed

Wispin · 27/04/2016 22:01

All injections done..egg collection is at 8am on Friday ....1st one in 😃
Hi Smurfy, they may tell you more information at the scans...xx
