purple just to say I think you'll end up with most if not all of the eggs fertilising and growing into good embies. I'm pretty young (27 at time of EC) and I think they overstimulated me. They collected 19 eggs and we only ended up with 2 embryos that were any good. I wish I'd pushed for short protocol now, I think I'd have fewer eggs but better quality and maybe more embies in the freezer for a sibling. If we try for a sibling and my a have is still high, I'm going to insist of short protocol.

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 11/09/2015 19:43

Oh I just saw your last post purple totally missed that! Blush but I was right!!!

purplemeggie · 11/09/2015 20:31

Thanks Toes - good to hear.

2ww is torture. I keep waking up in the morning hoping to feel different in some way and I feel nothing. 3dt was on Monday so am now 6 days in and I guess if implantation was going to happen it would have done by now. I KNOW that it would be too early for symptoms really but something concrete to give a grain of hope would be nice. Though of course am now clinging on to all the tales of women who felt nothing and still went in to a BFP. How are others feeling?

Vixxfacee · 13/09/2015 08:43

Ho everyone,

I am due to start taking progynova on the 24th however the doctor has told us they will be freezing before transfer (if lucky enough) us anyone else doing this?

IcsiWitsyBabyPlsGetUpMySpout · 13/09/2015 08:48

Hi purple how're your embie doing? Hope all is well!

vixx have you been hyper stimulated, of that why you're freezing? Hope you're OK!

Jessie I'm feeling the same, not noticed any symptoms yet really, and also worrying that taking neice and nephew to the park yesterday, or twisting in bed was 'overdoing it', which is ridiculous really. Need to get out of this mindset so I don't end up beating myself up if it doesn't work!

I'm trying to be positive, but then don't want to be too positive in case I have a big fall if we get bfn. Gaah!

lildottie · 13/09/2015 09:07

Hi all

purple good news on 7 fertilised. Fx for some good embryos to go back.

toes that's very interesting about thinking you were overstimulated. I am 30 and had amh of 40 about 18 months ago and I'm assuming still pretty high as "lots of potential" in my ovaries at base scsn last week and I got 11 eggs but only 2 were any good by day 2, and you know how that ended. I'm on a higher dose this time so will be interesting to see the comparison/quality.

I'm really struggling with mixing the menopur. I had got really good at it last time but I seem to be getting ridiculous amounts of air in the syringe so its taking me ages to mix and I'm only ending up with about .9-.95 of the 1ml dose! Any advice welcome!

IcsiWitsyBabyPlsGetUpMySpout · 13/09/2015 09:22

Only advice I have Dottie is get someone else to do it! My H mixed mine while I did my suprecur and it totally took the pressure off and meant I could more easily go back to sleep (did mine early morning), and it helped him feel involved too.

CatnipMouse · 13/09/2015 15:51

Hello again, just popping in. I am probably going to start downregging for my next cycle in about 3-4 weeks time. Just waiting for my period to show up (and trying not to convince myself that it won't show due to some mini miracle natural pregnancy!)

Justus I am so sorry for your losses, such a hell of a thing. Any loss is hard to understand but I know that a loss after IVF feels even more unfair.

Vixx I was on progynova for my most recent (frozen) cycle - it was fine, although I did find it hard to remember to take the pills 3 times a day. I had to set reminders on my phone. I didn't really have any side-effects from it.

For all of you in the post-transfer pre-test limbo, I felt nothing much on my last cycle and it turned out that both of the tinies that were transferred implanted. So don't worry about lack of sensation / symptoms, it means nothing.

purplemeggie · 13/09/2015 18:14

Just waiting to board my flight to Prague. Apparently some of the embryos ate developing okay but others not so well. Still on schedule for a transfer tomorrow.

Sending positive vibes for you 2ww'ers. I didn't have any symptoms with ds and he's very definitely real Smile. 2ww is a shocker

Floweroct2 · 13/09/2015 18:22

Good luck purple

I haven't really got symptoms either, I've had a few slight cramps and have felt a bit sick but I think that's likely to be my concoction of drugs. Otd isn't until a week on wed not sure I'll hold out that long though!

purplemeggie · 13/09/2015 18:31

Tomorrow - touch wood - will be my 7th transfer. I have always tested early - just two or three days. If it's good news you can stop fretting and if it's bad news you have some time to accept to it gradually - giving yourself a gentle 'perhaps it's too early' get out. It works for me...

scoobyloobyloo · 13/09/2015 18:38

Heeeelp! Been a lurker on here for ages, previously posted under marymaymay.

Just been to ARGC for day 1 blood test before supposedly starting down reg spray on day 21. Got a call from the clinic after the test to say 'how quickly can you get here?' They wanted to start me down regging today for 7 days before starting stimulation.

What is this sorcery they are giving me? Never heard of this before - couldn't get much info over the phone, said they'd explain tomorrow (which obviously I now can't wait for!).

Got decent enough FSH (7) and AMH (15) for my age (37) and previously responded well to stimulation for IUi (maybe slightly too well).

Anyone else experienced this or know why they're doing what they're doing or even just have a guess?!

bananafish81 · 13/09/2015 19:45

Good luck purple - keeping fingers crossed for you

Justus echoing what everyone else has said, I can only imagine what you??ve been through, this is a wonderfully supportive group of women, everyone here is rooting for you

shellster hope you??re able to enjoy your pregnancy, all sounds like it??s going swimmingly!

Icsi and flower huge congrats, everything crossed for you

Silly question (and I??ll ask when I go in on Day 2 for my injection teach with my consultant) but just wondered how you guys disposed of your used needles? Presume I should be able to give the sharps box to the clinic for them to dispose of?

CatnipMouse · 13/09/2015 20:43

Scooby, sorry no idea! My clinic didn't do day 1 bloods so I don't know what yours is looking for! Come back tomorrow and let us know?

Banana, yes you can give the clinic the sharps box, or if you forget you can take it to a pharmacy I think (like you can do with unused meds for safe disposal)

Shellster52 · 13/09/2015 22:36

purple, congrats on the 7 fertilised (but I thought you mentioned 6 eggs collected?) I can imagine it must be a mix of emotions now - feeling hopeful on the one hand knowing it is 'youthful' donor eggs, but not wanting to allow yourself to be hopeful at the same time after having done this before. I would definitely be addicted to the online pics. I would have sat by my embryos in the lab and sang to them had I been allowed.

I empathize with all of you in the two week wait as I read your stories of over analyzing and wanting to be positive on one hand while not wanting to get hopes up in case it fails on the other. For me personally, with my second last IVF, I had definite cramping at 9 days past EC that was kinda like period cramping and it continued on intermittently - this resulted in an early miscarrieage. So with last IVF, I was desperately waiting until 9 days past EC to see if I got the same cramping and knew it had worked. Well I got cramping at 8 days past EC, and went to bed in tears convinced that my period was coming. So it seems we send ourselves insane regardless of symptoms or no symptoms!

Shellster52 · 13/09/2015 22:41

Oh and Scooby - not ignoring your question - I just have no idea either!

Shellster52 · 13/09/2015 22:43

Oh and lil, after I lost a good amount of the Pregnyl trigger once when pusing out air, I have just since injected the air feeling better to inject air (which they said the only side effect was pain which I didn't notice) rather than lose my med when expelling air.

lildottie · 14/09/2015 07:40

Thanks shell. Last night's was better but still not great. The problem is the syringe is only 1ml so not enough space to pull all the air through the needle into syringe so some is above air (in needle) and the. There's quite a lot of air! I may just inject it all then if u survived it!!

IcsiWitsyBabyPlsGetUpMySpout · 14/09/2015 08:20

Well I am a mess today. It's DHs birthday so got up early, tea is bed and opened all the presents and cards I'd been really excited about giving him so a lovely start. Went to the loo and had a tiny speck of red blood when I wiped (sorry TMI) and my cm is pinky. If this were a normal cycle AF would be due tomorrow and it is always preceding by pinky cm, so I think it might be over Sad Completely ruined DHs birthday by balling my eyes out for half an hour before he went off to work, and I couldn't face going in so am working from home and hoping they don't get pissed off with me. Supposed to be going out for DHs birthday tonight too and now I'll worry that if I do that it will look bad that I've not gone into work and if I don't poor DH suffers even more Sad

Floweroct2 · 14/09/2015 10:48

Oh icsi try not to worry spotting is fairly common in early pregnancy so try not to assume the worst although I appreciate that is much easier said than done.
scooby I don't know either I'm afraid

lil do you turn your menopur upside down to get it out? I was shown to do that but found it difficult so then drew it out leaving it the right way up and making sure the bevel of the needle was under the liquid so found I drew up much less air that way

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 14/09/2015 10:54

Icsy This could well be an implantation bleed. It's not ever till you do a test, so please, please don't despair! For what it's worth, I had an implantation bleed and it was like a whole period (really heavy) and I was convinced it was all over but we had a scan and our little bean's heart is beating away and he/she is making me very sick indeed right now. Pinky cm is usually seen as a good sign. If you are interested - when they did the scan they showed me the bruising in my uterus that they said was caused by the impact of the embryo implanting and I never realised the force it happens with until I saw the massive bruise (several cm long!) so no wonder it bleeds.

How many days post transfer are you? Is it worth doing a test for peace of mind?

IcsiWitsyBabyPlsGetUpMySpout · 14/09/2015 11:10

I am 5dp5dt. I called the clinic and the nurse said it is too early to be a period, I suppose I am effectively 10dpo today and my luteal phase is 14 days on average (13 min, 15 Max), so they are right. They said it could be a positive sign and basically try to ignore it and hope it goes away. However of this cycle was a normal cycle, AF would be due today/tomorrow and this is exactly how AF starts for me. I just don't know what to think.

On top of all this, Saturday night I was in bed and also by 8.15 and yesterday afternoon I feel asleep on the sofa Hmm I feel like my body is playing tricks on me.

IcsiWitsyBabyPlsGetUpMySpout · 14/09/2015 11:21

Sorry for the self involved post. I don't testing will help right now as I won't be sure if its a true result.

Hope your sickness is not too bad toes

How are you doing flower? Any symptoms yet?

lildottie · 14/09/2015 13:36

icsy I got bfp from 8dp2dt, so equivalent on 10dpo from 2 embryo transfer. Andi tested daily so I know the hcg trigger has left my system within 3-4 days. Also forget when AF would normally be due. Your normal cycle is irrelevant. Your hormones have been controlled by doctors for weeks and your on progesterone to prevent AF. It could well be a good sign so don't fret. Forget what work think, esp if your wfh. Go out tonight, relax and enjoy yourself. Maybe test with a frer and fmu tomorrow if you think it will help. If its a bfp I'm sure it won't be the hcg trigger, and if its bfn it may well be too early. If the spotting is implantation you need to wait 3days for a positive post implantation. When is otd?
