Anyone had or having ivf in Czech Republic?

We are on cycle 13 of ttc#1 and starting to looking into options for ivf. I have low AMH and dh has low motility. Nhs is not really an option at the moment as the waiting list is 14 months here. We've looked into going privately in the UK and would be looking at paying around £7k for 2 rounds of ivf withi icsi including meds which we can't really afford.
I started researching clinics abroad yesterday and the Czech Republic has had a lot of good reviews. They have lots of clinics in Prague and some others just outside. I have been looking at one in particular called Reprofit which has better success rates than the UK and would come to around £2500 for one round including all meds, flights and accommodation.

They give you a prescription for meds which you start taking at home and also have a couple of scans here and then you go out to Czech for about 10 days for egg collection and transfer.

Just wondering if anyone has done this or thinking about it?

My BMI was 33. They won't go higher than 34 in Reprofit but that said they never weighed me.

My pre tests were done on NHS

Fifigo89 · 08/12/2017 19:06

Long shot. I know this post is old but can anyone recommend clinics abroad for me to look into? Ive heard czech has highly recommended but no clinic names im at a loss. We just cant afford Uk prices :(

blue2014 · 08/12/2017 19:56

Reprofit in Brno

Scottishgirl85 · 08/12/2017 20:17

Currently 20 weeks pregnant with Reprofit Brno baby. Would highly recommend. From my research they are the cheapest of the reputable European clinics and they have excellent success rates. Good luck xx

blue2014 · 08/12/2017 21:07

My Reprofit baby just turned 1 Smile

Scottishgirl85 · 08/12/2017 21:52

Aw that's lovely blue. Seen you on here and knew you were a fellow Reprofit buddy! Do you have any plans to go back to try for a sibling? X

Fifigo89 · 08/12/2017 23:40

Thanks so much hearing your success stories has given me the push i needed as i was a little wary of going abroad ive had a look.. been online for hours. Going to contact them over the weekend :)

Fifigo89 · 08/12/2017 23:41

If you dont mind me asking how many times did you need to travel to the clinic?

Scottishgirl85 · 09/12/2017 08:09

I only went twice fifi. The first time was for our fresh cycle. Stayed out for 8 days and made a holiday out of it so we could do egg collection and embryo transfer in same trip. Our fresh transfer failed, so I flew out myself two months later for two days for a frozen transfer, which worked! I had all pre-treatment tests that they need on NHS in UK (despite this being my second child), and all scans during the cycles in UK too. Any questions just ask. Brno is actually a really nice city to visit, which provides a good distraction during the treatment. Any questions just x

Scottishgirl85 · 09/12/2017 08:11

*just ask
You're assigned a coordinator at the clinic so you email them throughout the treatment for any questions etc. Mine was Tina and she was really helpful.

blue2014 · 09/12/2017 10:49

Fifi - I honestly couldn't recommend it more. It was clean efficient friendly and cheap. I only went once (very very lucky!) and stayed for the 12 days taking it as my annual holiday (I'd say go in summer, Brno is a bit boring in winter but you can travel to Prague and Vienna easily)

Honestly I was scared but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (even if it hadn't worked))

Thanks Scottish Smile no, I had planned a sibling but I only ended up with 3 eggs (2 fertilised - both back in) so have no Frosties and we've decided we don't want anymore anyway (I'm 39, DH is 53) but if we did I would definitely go back. Hope pregnancy goes smoothly for you Thanks

Fifigo89 · 09/12/2017 16:22

Thank you both so much. Ive sent them a message. And hopefully speak with someone next week. ☺️ Very nervous but you have helped me alot xx

bluebell19 · 09/12/2017 19:19

Hi Fifi I just wanted to offer an alternative. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant with my first after treatment at Gennet in Prague. Really lovely clinic, great communication and very helpful with questions. I have low AMH and only got 3 eggs with only 1 fertilising so I am so thankful to Gennet for getting us this far. Hope this helps and good luck. It's a hard decision to make but I thoroughly recommend going to Czech Republic - we saved a fortune compared to what we would have paid in the UK.

blue2014 · 09/12/2017 20:50

Congrats bluebell 😊 I have low AMH too - hope pregnancy goes smooth for you too

Hi ladies. I have been given 3 more rounds of clomid. Taking me to October. If no luck i will be looking to book into reprofit as soon as possible. Just wondered if i could get abit of info. Did anybody use their own eggs? If so how long did you need to stay out there for? And is the a specific time in your cycle you need to go out? Do you need to have your UK gyne on side with it for check ups etc? Thanks in advance

Blue2014 · 24/07/2018 13:07

I used my own eggs - we went for a week but took it as a holiday (went to Prague too) you could take less. I cant remember which cycle days it was but the clinic will tell you.

You need to do scans in the U.K. I used Babybond

Fifigo89 · 31/08/2018 20:56

hoping someone can help. Ive sent an email to reprofit & they have sent me a list of tests i need to of had before i can start. I also had a look at the online virtual visit were you enter all the info and im abit lost i dont know all the correct terms so not sure what tests i still need... ive had egg count test, sperm analysis, scan. Is there anything else? I wish the reprofit staff would simplify things as i havent had any ivf cycles before so i have not much experience with it? Thanks

lucieloos · 31/08/2018 21:08

If you post up what they've asked for I can help you.

Thank you— If you can document all required tests (hormonal profile - FSH, LH, E2, TSH, prolactin and AMH or partner sperm count),

Pumpkin18 · 31/08/2018 22:26

Hi Fifi have you had all the blood tests? They want these for testosterone, progesterone, prolactin, leutenising hormone, they do all on the except the amh unless they have a reason to test you for it. You also need a Chlamydia swab and an up to date smear test

lucieloos · 01/09/2018 00:15

The tests they've asked for are..

FSH - Follicle Stimulating Hormone
LH - Lutenising Hormone
E2 - Estrogen
TSH - Thyroid
AMH - Anti Mullerian Hormone (Egg reserves)
Prolactin

As pumpkin said I got all of these apart from amh done at my gps as part of the initial infertility investigations. They don't normally offer the amh so I paid for it at a local fertility clinic.

Hello

I went to reprofit on two occasions, the first time was our fresh cycle which failed and the second time was our frozen cycle and I’m currently 24+5 weeks pregnant. We used your ivf journey based in the uk on both occasions purely to take all the stress away from us and to simplify things and I can honestly say they are worth every penny. Becky who runs it has been out to the clinic a few times and is always on hand to explain everything to you. On one occasion I was sent the treatment programme from reprofit and I couldn’t make head or tail of it but then Becky sent me her version and it was all straight forward x

lucieloos · 01/09/2018 08:19

There is a fb group you can join if you're struggling with what you need to do, where to stay etc. Everyone on the group has been or is going to reprofit and the ladies are amazing. We always say no need to spend extra money on agencies such as yourivf as the treatment is expensive enough as it is and you will find all the help you need there. If you want to join let me know and I will pm you.

Fisharefriends... what clinic did your sister use?

IPokeBadgers · 16/10/2018 19:18

Hi everyone. DH and I are currently coming to terms with the fact that fertility treatment might be our only chance of a family. We are Belfast based and costs are astronomical, and due to ages are unlikely to qualify for NHS assistance. Starting to look into options abroad but it is so confusing. @lucie - would you be able to PM me details of the FB group as well please? I'm feeling really overwhelmed at where to start 😒
