Anyone had or having ivf in Czech Republic?

We are on cycle 13 of ttc#1 and starting to looking into options for ivf. I have low AMH and dh has low motility. Nhs is not really an option at the moment as the waiting list is 14 months here. We've looked into going privately in the UK and would be looking at paying around £7k for 2 rounds of ivf withi icsi including meds which we can't really afford.
I started researching clinics abroad yesterday and the Czech Republic has had a lot of good reviews. They have lots of clinics in Prague and some others just outside. I have been looking at one in particular called Reprofit which has better success rates than the UK and would come to around £2500 for one round including all meds, flights and accommodation.

They give you a prescription for meds which you start taking at home and also have a couple of scans here and then you go out to Czech for about 10 days for egg collection and transfer.

Just wondering if anyone has done this or thinking about it?

That's not too bad at all devon. I mean I suppose it depends if you had a really bad amh result which might affect things a little more but Reprofit sent me live birth rates for age 35-40 which were 31% so I'm sure you would have a much better chance than 15%

Hi - thought I'd replied but it's not here, oh well! I'm 39, I only have my memory to go on with the results I'm afraid. My results were all OK, don't know what the levels were but they called them 'normal/average' (I'm having a scan today to check my tubes!), my husband's count and morphality were low, they used some kind of formula with both results to come up with 14% overall (??). Sorry, so new with all the terminology - they basically recommended treatment because of my age and my DH's 'mild sperm disfunction', that's how they classified it...I think the 15% is down to my age :-(

I've been reading the reprofit cyclebuddies thread on FF from the beginning, bit by bit and I've just got to your first post!

DevonshireDumpling75 · 27/02/2015 11:58

Doh! Sorry for reposting - It did come through...just going slow I guess. Thanks, Lucie - it would be good to know what Reprofit think. I might contact them, were they OK with general queries? x

lucieloos · 27/02/2015 12:23

Yes they are great with any queries and normally get back within a day. If you go on the Reprofit website and click on contacts and then choose send an email to Eva Kope?ná. She is the English coordinator and is really lovely. She will help with any queries you have and tell you what test results you need to provide etc

Yes, we just had one on january, and now im on my 38weeks 5 days. It was really a great experience with the help of ben and becky, who was our representative from the clinic.

Hey can you tell me please which clinic you are goi g inn Prague for your treatment? I had 2 unsuccessful attempts in uk of ivf. Am 37 years. Looking for options in Prague

BorisIsBack · 01/02/2016 19:51

Caroline - there are a few ivf clinic is Prague notably Gennet. I think a few people from this thread we're going to Reprofit which isn't in Prague but is in the czech republic still.

BorisIsBack · 01/02/2016 19:51

Excuse my grammar.

Hi there, I am new to the group and appreciate that this post is from last year. I have been looking at clinics in Cz and I am liking the look of "Zin". Would really love to hear from anyone that has used this clinic or knows of it..Thank you

ohdeedee1515 · 06/04/2016 04:26

hello. I hope it is ok for me to jump in this conversation. I am too looking for donor egg Ivf in this clinic. If you do not mind me asking , what kind of pre-screening test they requested? Do they have a big pool of donor to chose? ( I am Asain and wondering if they have some Asian donor available)
Hope your journey is going to be a magic and get bfp soon.

It's well worth looking on fertility friends website instead - it's very active with people who have loads of experience with Czech clinics

Lauraqc · 06/04/2016 20:38

Hello,

I've just come back from having my first IVF round at Reprofit in Brno. I have to say the whole thing was quite daunting, and I still can't believe it's actually happened! My co-ordinator Barbora was brilliant, answering my emails really promptly and calming me when I was stressed!

When we got to the clinic in March we were really impressed with the staff, the actual facilities and care. I had 6 eggs collected, 4 fertilised and I had 2 5 day embryos transferred back in. Haven't reached my test date yet...

If this round doesn't work I wouldn't have any hesitation going back again to the same clinic.

Re Brno itself though - we stayed in the Holiday Inn which is a bit out of the centre and I wished we'd stayed somewhere we could just walk into town from, but we were preoccupied with being close to the clinic which doesn't really matter if you're only going twice (on collection and transfer dates).

Good luck!

Clairem1970 · 07/04/2016 17:10

I have 2 x DS, age 5 & 3, both of whom are Reprofit babies. I can't recommend them highly enough. Good luck

Hi Caroline9,
while surfing the Web I bumped these sources
eggdonationfriends com/donor-program-in-reprogenesis/
eggdonationfriends com/interview-with-reprogenesis-ivf-medical-director-dr-marcel-stelcl/
You would find more info on Czech clinics on the site. Hope this helps. xx

MGLV · 28/07/2016 07:06

Hi. Which clinic did you go to?

Thanks

rider1975 · 03/08/2016 20:43

I found this thread really interesting. Would love to know how you got on Lauraqc. I reached out to GYNEM Clinic in Prague to get a view of costs - I don't know once clinic from the next but have to start the research somewhere. Seems much more reasonable to treatment in the UK.

Lauraqc · 03/08/2016 21:53

I should've posted an update, very sorry! I'm very happy to say that I am now 21 weeks pregnant with twins! We feel incredibly lucky that our first round of IVF worked and both embryos took...sometimes it feels almost unbelievable that we just picked a clinic, booked the flights and got on with it!

I really can recommend Reprofit; not just because it worked for us but because I was very impressed with the treatment we got.

Love to hear other updates from ladies on this thread with their experiences...

rider1975 · 03/08/2016 22:32

Wow huge congratulations ! Fantastic to hear good news! I'm strongly considering it. Do you mind if I ask you how much you paid in total for the whole treatment ?

Lauraqc · 03/08/2016 22:40

Thanks! Of course - we had ICSI with own sperm and eggs which was €1950, plus scans here were about £600; meds £872 (I've got PCOS so was on low dose and from what I can tell my drugs were pretty cheap), hotel £800 plus flights and spends. I estimate we spent about £4K in total. Still about half of what it would cost in UK...

rider1975 · 03/08/2016 22:56

Thank you - that's very kind of you to share. And congrats once again Flowers

blue2014 · 08/08/2016 17:03

I also used reprofit and would recommend them, I'm currently 22+5 with a singleton after transferring two back

vcantle · 11/10/2016 22:44

Hi Ladies, where did you have all your pre-tests done (so that you don't have to travel over for them)? We contacted Reprofit this week :)
Unexplained infertility.
Any tips would be appreciated thank you

Lauraqc · 12/10/2016 06:47

I used the Herts & Essex Fertility Clinic...I think they were a bit put out at first that I wasn't paying for a round of treatment with them but the staff were genuinely interested to see if it worked for me.

Essexlass78 · 12/10/2016 07:19

Ive been loosely looking at IVF after TTC for 18 months now and have seen posts and stories about doing it in the Czech Republic as it's much cheaper. Can I consider this an option despite having PCOS and having a high BMI?

Lauraqc · 12/10/2016 20:41

My BMI was about 32 when we started treatment - I'd also been diagnosed with PCOS too. I really did make an effort to lose some weight before we started tho and I was put on the GP referral gym course and was given metformin for a year to help regulate hormones.
