The old thread which was so popular has become full so thought we'd start one here again for us all to support one another through the clomid journey and celebrate it's successes xx

What is that spray Lotty? We're using Pre-Seed lube as my Sjogren's can make things a bit dry (sorry tmi).

I might give to ov sticks ago again next cycle, and I'm going to pick up a basal thermometer in town tomorrow.

Hi Mrs Hope!

Hi ladies, hope you're all well and have nice plans for the weekend xx

KerryLou, I used to start testing a few days after finishing taking clomid, so around day 8 (if you take your pills day 2-6) and tested everyday until I got my positive opk result. Then at it like bunnies! Once we got the positive opk we dtd everyday for 4 days. Before the positive opk we tried to dtd every other day from around day 8.

LM the spray was by Balance Activ and just called Conceive Fertility Spray. It comes in gel as well I think depending on what you prefer. We used the spray every time we dtd. You can get it in Boots or look online. As I say, not sure if it helped but worth a try Smile

I'm well thanks Anroga, feel like I'm getting fatter already but just been a proper piggy since finding out, I need to kerb my appetite as the baby is only the size of a sesame seed atm Wink I think taking the pressure off makes a huge difference, have you tried acupuncture or reiki? I have heard positive things about both. Oh and remember Agnus Castus, I'm sure it helped me conceive my first little boy, I only went to clomid when my periods completely disappeared. Keeping my hopes up it will work for you soon, but if it does get to IVF, at least you will feel refreshed after a break of actively ttc.

Hi Mrshope, you're very welcome to join in, I've found it helpful and friendly here - sometimes you need to talk to people going through the same thing or who have been through the same thing. Ttc when it's not happening naturally is a tough emotional experience. Hoping clomid works for you xx

How is everyone, have you all had a good weekend?

I got my pack of ovulation tests on Saturday afternoon so I tested straight away, and 2 very faint lines appeared. I then tested again yesterday morning (day 22) and again there were 2 lines. I havnt tested this morning. I will be ringing the doctors to see if my blood tests have come back, and if they have and my results show I have ovulated then these home testing kits musnt be accurate xxx

Lottystar · 21/10/2013 14:59

Hi KerryLou, the result line must be as dark as the test line for positive opk. You could have already ovulated before getting the tests so wait for day 21 results this month. Good luck xx

The ones I have say it's best not to test first thing in the morning, but roughly the sametime everyday. I used them before being starting clomid and tested once I got in from work every day.

I'm going to start using them again next cycle (if I'm not pg!?!?!)

mrshope · 21/10/2013 19:46

Thanks guys hope you all had great weekends.

Really good to read your stories - so positive to hear about people who get pregnant on clomid.

My doctor said as I have pcos not to bother with opk
But sounds like some of you have had great success - any advice?

Hope all well! X

Lottystar · 21/10/2013 23:58

Hope you're preggers LM!

What day are you on now KerryLou?

Mrshope, I had PCOS and used the one use only pee on a stick opks you can buy, not a fertility monitor as I think with PCOS and irregular cycles they don't work so well, I may be wrong! I can't see why a usual ovulation test would be effected by PCOS other than it can be frustrating as you have to buy so many of them if you don't know roughly when you're likely to ovulate. It's a personal choice really as I couldn't stand not knowing if anything was happening so wanted that reassurance, also my hubby can work away a lot so needed to try and pinpoint best days to try to conceive.

Ditsy, how are you? I hope all is okay xxx

I used to buy the cheap sticks as I used to do them once in the morning then when I got home from work about 6 X I found that the morning one had nothing then the 6:00 showed a line then in the morning still a line, but I think u have to try and dtd as early as u can to catch it early, so if I had just relied on the morning i may have missed it :(
Hope this helps X I got them of eBay think not was £8 for 60 sticks xxxii

mrshope · 22/10/2013 08:47

Thanks for the advice ladies - I bought a clear blue opk a while ago but never used it after my doctor said it might just cause more stress - but like you i find it so frustrating not knowing if anything is happening and also trying to dtd at the right time.
I might give the one use type a go!

THANKS! x

kerrylou84 · 23/10/2013 10:08

Hi girls. I've just rang the doctors for my blood teat results, and the receptionist says there is a note that says 'abnormal but as expected....no further action needed!' So does that mean I havnt ovulated? I'm on day 25 now!xxx

Lottystar · 23/10/2013 11:42

Not sure KerryLou, I think you best ask to chat to the Dr to clarify. I was just told "yes" I'd ovulated. You could always ask the progesterone level in the meantime and look up what that level means online if it's going to be a while before you can speak with your GP xxx

OP posts:
mrshope · 23/10/2013 12:09

Oh kerrylou that is SO frustrating when the drs do that and don't explain properly. I had exactly the same thing - pester them for more information.
Hope you get some answers soon x

kerrylou84 · 23/10/2013 13:37

It was the receptionist that told me mrshope, which I don't think they should be giving out results as its not them that's the professional. I'm waiting for a call back off the doctor. Obviously this has put me in such an emotional mood xxx

mrshope · 23/10/2013 13:49

I can totally sympathise. I had exactly the same thing when they did my first blood test for pcos - they just said 'oh it's abnormal - you need to make an appointment'
I definitely agree the receptionist should not be giving out information that they can't explain.
Fingers crossed you get hold of your dr - deep breaths hun xxx

kerrylou84 · 23/10/2013 18:30

Well just had the doctor on the phone......I havnt ovulated. I'm day 25 now. I've got to have another blood teat week after week now.
I had a scan to test for pcos but got the all clear.
This is just heartbreaking. Really feel like just giving up.......its taking all my energy away from me.
Thanks girls xxx

kerrylou84 · 24/10/2013 09:36

Just rang to book another blood test and there is nothing til 5th November! I am sick

Lottystar · 24/10/2013 10:32

Sorry to hear that KerryLou, how frustrating! It's bizarre you haven't ovulated this month when your body's responded to Clomid in the past. Perhaps you're going to ovulate late this month or maybe they will consider upping your dose if you don't ovulate. Sending you hugs xxx

OP posts:
mrshope · 24/10/2013 10:56

Oh kerrylou :(
Nothing until the 5th of November?! That is ridiculous - have you tried your GP as well as the hospital? I found that often my GP could fit things in when the hospital couldn't?
And like Lotty said you never know you might ovulate late?
We need something to take our mind off all the waiting - I am waiting and waiting for AF so I can start Clomid.

Any tips from anyone on how to stop obsessing and think of something else?

kerrylou84 · 24/10/2013 15:07

I don't go to the hospital for bloods, I just go to the health centre and they do them there.
Can I just go along to the hospital and ask for a blood test?xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 24/10/2013 21:53

Hi everyone ,hope your all well X kerrylou i had to go to the hospital a couple of times ,the doctors wrote me out the envelopes and just said to Turn up at the hospital with the envelope and it was fine :) results get sent back to your doctors :) it's so wrong they can't fit you in, they should have given you an alternative hun x
Xx xx Take care X

roozocheeks · 25/10/2013 16:55

Hi all, just wanted to let you know my story...been ttc for 18months and just found out I'm 4wks pregnant after first cycle on clomid! Totally shocked that it worked first time for us and have everything crossed now that everything works out.
Not sure what info. would be useful to pass on but if anyone has any questions, I'll try my best to help x

kerrylou84 · 25/10/2013 17:49

I managed to get an appointment today for 11.15......but actually got seen at 11.55 which made me late for work! Anyway, got some lovely bruises on my arm, and back again next Friday for more bloods.....I'm going to be like a sieve!
Got to just keep having them done til it shows I have ovulated.

Welcome to the thread roozo, and congratulations!
Hope everything goes well xxx

bouncingbelle · 26/10/2013 13:20

Congratulations roozocheeks, always good to hear of a successful cycle!

This is my 3rd cycle of clomid (1st after miscarriage in August) and just got my day 21 blood test results (actually done on day 20) and they were 42 which is my highest yet!!! Delighted, results were 0.2 without clomid, 19 the first cycle, 25 the second cycle. Can't help but hope the higher result is a sign of a BFp......desperately trying not to symptom spot but damn you two week wait!!

littlemim · 27/10/2013 09:53

AF has just arrived :-(

On to cycle 3 then. Going to try and see my GP this week to see if she'll do a 21 day blood test. This is my last cycle on 50mg before moving to 100mg so the result almost doesn't matter, but it would be nice to know.

H Roozo and BIG congratulations!

LM xxx
