The hut of gl/doom: ttc against the odds

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 10/02/2012 22:51

This is a safe haven for those ttc with difficult, with ?sub-fertility or sub-fertility labels. Where like minded people offer encouragement at times and commiserations at others.
I've decided the theme is Cocktail style: Flanagans. With a pink neon sign: Cocktails and dreams. Blinkity blink.
Newbies are welcome. Come share your tales of woe

I've been to the GP this morning and asked for a referal to an immunologist to see if I can get to the bottom of last weekend's allergic reaction.

Not holding out much hope for BFP this month as we barely dtd with me being ill. Next month will be a long wait I think and then i'll be back to my Consultant and booked in for the lap and dye.
Feeling utterly fed up with it all at the moment Sad

carrieonlaughing · 23/02/2012 12:32

Just took a call from my gp saying the hospital have requested more tests before I get my appointment for HSG. Yet I already had the ones requested twice before my first appointment. Several calls later and they have found the results and sending my appointment out today

pinkapples · 23/02/2012 17:46

Woo hoo hopefully it will be soon carrie

MaybeBBaby · 23/02/2012 18:18

Hi all, delilah still not got email?! Im wondering if its my phone, what I will do is FB msg glask and ask her what she is comfortable saying etc and pm it to you or post it here? As a short term solution!

Carrie hopefully, im hoping for te same myself!

Queen thats a good idea you wouldnt want it to happen again as could be worse! And if caught unawares... How scary!

Hi to all! Im supposedly past fertile point as on CD26 but had EWCM last 3 days so dp and i DTD night before last and will do again tonight, app cheerfully reminds me Af due in 6 days.. With my cycles who blimmen knows! its so confusing but EWCM is only real indicator i have to go on so I'm not sure! Going to start with ov sticks next cycle not that im a pessimist not too hopeful for this month makes me a bit SadEnvyAngry

DS finally picking up altho temp still raised... Hope it buggers off soon! Its my bday sat and would be nice if he was well! Altho im so under enthused about it its unreal... Its not a big one and it makes me think this time three yrs ago.. As i found out i was having DS at 6am on my bday morn! ( tested half heartedly as was seeing friend for bday whose kids had c pox. Had my first consultants apt 3 days before!) just makes me think.

Ah im a cheerful sod eh?

carrieonlaughing · 23/02/2012 22:18

Sounds like a good idea Queen, its a worrying reaction and you need to know what to avoid.

MaybeBBaby · 24/02/2012 16:26

Ive given up today Sad was meant to go for indian meal for pre bday lunch .. Didnt happen as DS behaviour so vile today took him to soft play and he just had screaming ab dabs about everything, I know he is poorly but grr. Got all the usual young mum snide remarks and stares! Just not my day! Hope everyone else's is better! I had had so much of a gutfull i dropped them home and went for a very screamy singy drive, very rarely do that. Then sat in a carpark and had a good cry! My only victory was getting a 5 pack of first response tests for £10.99 instead of £19.99 as they'd been shelved wrongly in boots.. that said its not much of a victory is it?

My friend is taking me out for dinner tonight so thats something, altho she is BF and has a shall we say different relationship to mine, so she will have to go home if her youngest gets upset as her hubby cant cope Hmm

carrieonlaughing · 24/02/2012 18:21

Sounds like you have had a long day. I hope you enjoy your meal and manage to get through it lol

MaybeBBaby · 24/02/2012 19:47

Hey all.
Q I think it's very important you get it investigated. Let us know how you get on.
maybeB is it your birthday today?
I've been manic with work. Think I'm pretty much done with a project that I picked up in July! It has dominated everything. I feel very relieved Grin I'm on a course this coming week and have leave the week after. Two whole weeks away from the daily grind. Marvelous!
Reckon I'm about to/have just ovved. Cue the tww....at least my mind will be active with other things.

Hello ladies, hope you are all having a good Saturday.

Feel a bit bad for just lurking on the new thread until I need a gripe but I'm just feeling a bit gutted Sad because my appointment with my endocrinologist has been put back 5 months! AngryAngry

It was supposed to be in another 4 weeks and I was looking forward to getting things moving and also getting treatment for some of the not so pleasant side effects of my high prolactin.

Think I might ring up and see if there is a cancellation list or something Sad

delilahbelle · 25/02/2012 17:06

Hey all - I am whinging again. My friend and her boyfriend are coming to dinner (the not living together mistake couple)
This was arranged a long time ago and I didn't think I could cancel when she announced her preg without looking bitter and twisted.
The offer we made on the house we like was rejected, so we have to have another think about it over the weekend and possibly increase it.
And DH has cracked open a beer, despite saying he would stop drinking entirely with me. He has said that when these, left from last weekend have gone, he will not buy any more.

Oh - and AF is due tomorrow/Monday, and not eating chocolate during lent was not my brightest decision!

pinkapples · 25/02/2012 17:07

I'm having an unexpected weekend hubby is working so I planned a day of cleaning and work however my sister planned to babysit for a friend of ours but then dropped them both of with me as she want to sort her house out (she got the keys yesterday) lovely for me eh

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 25/02/2012 19:56

flixy I would be fuming and ask for cancellations, an alternative consulant. If no joy, I'd go to PALS. That's too long to wait.
Sorry to hear about the house delilah. Which one did you go for? Are you in love with it?
pink that sounds rather cheeky!

OP posts:
flixy102 · 25/02/2012 21:04

Maybe I'm being dippy phoenix but what's PALS?

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 25/02/2012 21:34

Patient Advice and Liaison Service ...give advice on NHS entitlement/complaints.

OP posts:
pinkapples · 26/02/2012 08:01

Omg 5 months? Did they give u a reason for that? I'd definetley contact PALS and ask about cancelations that is unreal!

Alright this end another scan tomorrow woohoo! Not!

Having a chilled weekend and trip to ikea this morning with mum and sister ready to spend x

flixy102 · 26/02/2012 09:43

No reason, just that they had to reschedule and there is another appointment for end of August. Sad

That's for the link phoenix I've had a look at the PALs website but it's only available in England and Wales and I'm in Northern Ireland, not sure we have an equivalent here. Sad

MaybeBBaby · 26/02/2012 19:41

Hi all

delilah that sounds frustrating situation on both counts, i am not a drinker, i can only drink when out out iykwim? DP enjoys drinking but doesnt do it regularly but its something to consider

pink how was the babysitting? Just what you want on the weekend! Hope scan goes well tomorrow!

flixy thats awful hope you can get a cancellation!

Ive been v spoilt this weekend, its been very nice DP cooked last night and he really tried bless him it was lovely! I am still up and down though... Im convinced im a bit loopy. Im CD29 so af due soon ish but with my cycles who knows? Have had EWCM for last 4-5 days have dtd plenty, but am quite confused as to what that means? As signs of ov are there.. But is 4-5 days of EWCM nomal?! I am also having phantom flutters more and more. Realistically its obviously wind but heart and head clash! I am considering temping and opks next cycle but that feels such a definite step im a bit intimidated...

carrieonlaughing · 26/02/2012 20:50

Hi all.
Flixy 5 months is a long time I would try and get a cancellation.

Good luck tomorrow pink, I have to call when I am on my next period to get the appointment for my HSG.

Maybebaby I think the ewcm is too near to af to be anything other then normal for you. Your dtd time should be around day 11 to 14 from first day of AF. Its hard not to symptom spot especially when most are the same as pmt.I do most months and have been pregnant a few times so should know when I am by now. I even throw up before my af some months! The fluttering won't come in until you are a lot further on so I'm afraid its just wind :(.
Try the ov tests and see what you get from them. If you have a Wilkkinsons near you they do a cheap own brand its worth a shot even just to put your mind at rest that you are.
Not a great weekend for me other than AF hasn't been as bad as usual. Its almost over now so let's start all over again x

MaybeBBaby · 26/02/2012 21:04

Ive given up wondering whats normal.. As my cycles have been as short as 12 days to as long as 62, i am thinking EWCM is the only reliable indicator i have as my cycles fluctuate so greatly. I meant flutterings due to last month cycle 3day very light af... The day before I was due to have a blood test. Altho all of that aside id imagine you are right! I would say AF to look forward to not in the least this week but with my cooky cycles who knows!
Have loadsa ov sticks offa the t'interweb, so they are there, but am intidated as to wht they may tell me! When ewcm to close to be anything other than normal what do u mean? Ive not got a clue about that type of thing Blush some months i don't recall having any but mot sure if in that time I was looking out iyswim?

carrieonlaughing · 26/02/2012 22:17

Everyones cycle is different and some people have different times that they produce ewcm. I would try the tests and see what they say. Or even try an app on your phone. It will keep a log of AF and even if they are all over you might get an idea of when to check for ov. If you can afford to I would do them each day from about five days after your period and keep doing them. EWCM might not be enough on its own. Try tests or even body temp.
Your gp should be able to run two blood tests during your cycle and tell you if you are doing the right things lol.
Just take the plunge and see at least you might have a better idea as to what's going on :)

MaybeBBaby · 27/02/2012 17:53

Ive got an app its very handy, as have always noted cycles due to varying length on advice of gp. App assumes fertile 14 days from cd1 but not sure thats correct for me.. I shall take the plunge and use the sticks as well as cm and cp I think x
