From the Telegraph.

OP posts:

and I must be quite clever if I have trouble controlling my temper but am also passive-aggressive

differentID · 08/07/2010 11:46

captainspeaking- perhaps you need to step away from the keyboard for a few minutes? You appear to be maintaining a personal attack on another poster, which is really not on.

You accuse toccata of being a bully and passive aggressive, yet you seem to be displaying those exact behaviours yourself.

toccatanfudge · 08/07/2010 11:48

well what did you expect me to do - sit here and agree with you

I'm telling you to fuck off because you're being in idiot. Not because what you're saying has upset me.

If you think I'm being agreesive towards you you really must be new, as telling to to be a dear and fuck off is certainly not how I am when I'm angry.

I take it you don't see the irony in telling me that I verbally abuse strangers when you have personally attacked me?

What exactly do you think my neighours should call SS's on me for? I'm failing to see it, 2 of my DS's are at school, DS3 is pottering around playing next to me, he's perfectly happy, although is now starting to nag me for his lunch.

SS's aren't there to "ruin" lives, having SS's involved if you're struggling with parenting can be a great help. That's not to say they don't cock up on occasions and over do things, but for many people who just need some help SS's can be a lifeline.

MrsDrOwenHunt · 08/07/2010 11:58

sorry captain are you a psych student?

lou33 · 08/07/2010 12:01

Differentid beat me to it

WingsTHEangel · 08/07/2010 12:02

Captainspeaking I think you are going off subject and trying to psychoanalysis toccantan, and failing.

toccatanfudge · 08/07/2010 12:03

I think you could be right on the psych student (perhaps a failed one as she's got it totally wrong on me LOL)

captainspeaking · 08/07/2010 12:04

"If you think I'm being agreesive towards you you really must be new, as telling to to be a dear and fuck off is certainly not how I am when I'm angry"

Oh, so you're much worse when you're genuinely angry, is that right? Are you violent? It sounds like your chidren may be in danger, your neighbours should definitely call the police, I'll happily submit the tirade of swearing and name-calling you've subjected me to as evidence of how unstable you are.

captainspeaking · 08/07/2010 12:06

"You appear to be maintaining a personal attack on another poster, which is really not on."

Really? Have I called her an idiot? Told her to fuck off?

No, of course not. In fact I've been nothing but courteous and recieved nothing but abuse in return.

WingsTHEangel · 08/07/2010 12:08

Captainspeaking just shut up please.

lou33 · 08/07/2010 12:11

I think somebody needs a nap

captainspeaking · 08/07/2010 12:12

Or what? You'll contact the moderators and get yourself and toccata banned for telling another poster to "fuck off" and "shut up"?

I'm really scared.

toccatanfudge · 08/07/2010 12:13

actually thinking about it you'd need a phD in psychology to be able to competently psychoanalyse me - failed under grad student wouldn't have a hope in hell.

WingsTHEangel · 08/07/2010 12:15

Or what ???
Grow up.

toccatanfudge · 08/07/2010 12:16

lol - just as well the moderation isn't so bad here that people are banned for telling people to fuck off. If I had £1 for every time a poster has said that I would be very very rich.

toccatanfudge · 08/07/2010 12:18

you may (or probably not actually) have noticed that there are many posters on this thread I disagree with.

Funnily enough I don't see them telling me that I'm an under achiever, or a bully, or passive aggressive, or have a short temper I like control and abuse others, and I haven't said anything of the sort to them.

You see most posters on MN are able to disagree with each other without attempting (badly) to psychoanalyse each other

Niecie · 08/07/2010 12:18

Perhaps if more people were like T&F and were prepared to call SS if they see a child in danger we wouldn't have as many Baby P cases where children slip through the net because nobody is prepared to say anything and don't consider it their reponsibility.

5 is too young to be cycling to school alone imo. If the parents are ignoring the school's concerns and continuing to let their children cycle alone (and I would presume that the school knows the traffic conditions as well as anybody so are in a position to judge) then they have to consider calling SS.

In our area you can't ride to school until you have taken the cycling proficiency and you can't do that until the Juniors. Hell, the infants don't even let bicks in the grounds because 5 yr olds don't have the sense to not keep ploughing into everything that gets in their way. So yes, 5 is definitely too young without adult supervision.

And Captainspeaking - why exactly have you picked on T&F? As far as I can see you haven't even bothered to read what she wrote and yet you think you can have a go. I suspect you have SS breathing down your neck which is why you are sensitive. Leave T&F alone - you are starting to look like a nutter.

clemetteattlee · 08/07/2010 12:19

Ignoring the fact the captainspeaking seems to be getting her knickers in a twist, I can't help thinking that i really ought to write to the Tour De France organisers because their riders have obviously not been taught how to ride their bikes properly and are always falling off!

Apart from that, when did it stop being OK to recognise that all parents make errors of judgement, and that in this case the parents may well have done so. There are people here bemoaning the lack of community, whilst also complaining that the community takes an interest in how they raise their child.

captainspeaking · 08/07/2010 12:22

"actually thinking about it you'd need a phD in psychology to be able to competently psychoanalyse me"

No, I don't have any qualifications in psychology but I was spot on. If I wasn't, you'd able to prove it, but instead you've just made it clear that everything I said was dead right by going into a swearing, abusive temper when I mentioned it.

You're trying to be calm now but it's not really working. You're the one swearing and calling names, not me. Very aggressive indeed.

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 12:22

oh has this thread got to quoting?

differentID · 08/07/2010 12:23

Captainspeaking- language used does not need to be abusive to be a sustained personal attack.

you appear to be like a yappy terrier with a bone. Seriously. Drop it and leave!

toccatanfudge · 08/07/2010 12:23

lol clemette - I can't bear to watch the Tour De France sometimes as it's awful seeing them all fall into a crumpled heap on the floor

I think that error of judgement is one thing, but a continuation of the error of judgement is different. We ALL make errors of judgement it's how we then deal with it when people point it out to us that I think is the important bit.

captainspeaking · 08/07/2010 12:24

"And Captainspeaking - why exactly have you picked on T&F?"

Actually if you read the thread she started telling me to "fuck off" and calling me "an idiot" first. Perhaps if she doesn't like the taste of her own medicine she should quit dishing it out?

CompyCod · 08/07/2010 12:25

STOP QUOTING

toccatanfudge · 08/07/2010 12:26

ComppyCod - I'm trying hard not to do my repetitive quoting that I used to be rather infamous for in the past
