People do have the right to decide who comes into their home. They give up that right voluntarily (barring issues of safety) when they decide to run a B&B though. No-one forces them to run a B&B. it's their choice of occupation out of millions of possible jobs.

If you run one, you have to obey the laws of the UK. They all know that. Why complain about it afterwards?

I personally hope and pray that faiths stop active denial of basic services for people who are gay. A privately held opinion that God doesn't approve is one thing. Ruining someone's holiday with the person they love is something else.

Surely someone has already mentioned this, but if you are providing a business service, you're going to lose that business PDQ if you turn down paying customers because you don't like them or disapprove of their 'lifestyle'.

It's a basic tenet of capitalism, surely? Consumer choice and all that.

That's leaving the whole morals/ethics side out of it of course

Just skimmed through thread...must say I find the idea of middle class mums (married or otherwise, being inclusive here and all that jazz) being discriminated against a bit baffling.

Er, hello? Mumsnet election anyone?

Grayling won't be home sec - Cameron has already put him out to pasture... thank the lord. That B&B is down the road from where I live - shall I go and throw a brick through its window. Religion of any sort cannot be allowed to come above the law of the land.
