Totenham Court Road has just been evacuated. I know there are going to be lots of scares following the London bombings but DH has asked me to check if anything has happened. He seems to think something has.

the fool who did it is probably getting treatment in there [frown]

Easy · 21/07/2005 14:21

Hello Mrs Ramsay,

These men and their mobiles, they don't realise how we worry, do they?

MrsGordonRamsay · 21/07/2005 14:22

I will wring his bloody neck

Did your DH get the job offer ??

And what does he do ??

Easy · 21/07/2005 14:24

Job offer not formally made as of this morning, but looking V. Likely (see update to my chat this a.m.)

Dh is a software developer type.

snafu · 21/07/2005 14:25

They're saying 'dummy nail bombs' on BBC. Lovely.

Bus incident is virtually outside my brother's flat.

kissalot · 21/07/2005 14:26

What does 'dummy' nail bomb mean

ScummyMummy · 21/07/2005 14:27

Apparently means detonators with no explosive.

Blu · 21/07/2005 14:28

I'm away - we're being 'unofficially' evacuated. Police using our building - they say it's 'real' but not 'what', and that we should send people home.

Bye!

ScummyMummy · 21/07/2005 14:28

Bye darling. Take care.

kissalot · 21/07/2005 14:29

Who would have done this & why? Surely its taking a big risk of getting caught or traced back to them or something?

Bellie · 21/07/2005 14:29

wonder what this 'smell' the eyewitnesses keep talking about is??

northerner · 21/07/2005 14:31

Bye Blu. Safe trip home.

This is intriguing me. What on earth is going on?

kissalot · 21/07/2005 14:32

Feeling a bit freaked out DP is leaving work now as no tube and has no option to get bus. Are they still running Ok and what about overhead trains???

HappyDaddy · 21/07/2005 14:33

Two near misses in two weeks, for members of my family, is doing my nerves no good at all.

spacedonkey · 21/07/2005 14:34

Police are advising people to stay where they are. Some tube lines are still running and I think overland trains are running too

foxinsocks · 21/07/2005 14:37

they will be worried about chemicals (they have to check just in case)

CountessDracula · 21/07/2005 14:38

oh great

"Men in chemical protection suits have been seen appearing to enter the station, where British Transport Police say one person has been injured"

spacedonkey · 21/07/2005 14:38

just heard the Victoria Line is open again, so the incident at Warren St can't have been too bad

foxinsocks · 21/07/2005 14:41

I imagine it might have been one of their first thoughts (as you wouldn't necessarily need a big bomb to send out chemicals)

hopefully it's just some idiot copycats and not something more serious

spacedonkey · 21/07/2005 14:42

sorry, correction - victoria line open but only either side of warren street

alicatsg · 21/07/2005 14:42

Met is telling everyone to stay off public transport and stay in their offices till further notice.

CountessDracula · 21/07/2005 14:47

We have had a mail round from the City police saying there is a bus in Newgate St (Nr Barts Hospital) which is being treated in some suspicious way

MrsDoolittle · 21/07/2005 14:48

'some suspicious way'?

HappyDaddy · 21/07/2005 14:51

The police emailed you, CD?

CountessDracula · 21/07/2005 14:51

we get them in our office and they are fwded round the building

They have now shut the tube network
