I have thought about it, and it still doesnt make any sense!

No! I'm not making assumptions on your behalf, spit it out then?

ilovesprouts · 21/03/2010 22:09

oh dear ,what a shame lionstar

SuSylvester · 21/03/2010 22:11

god the tabloids have got prison officers all in their pay then?

jaquelinehyde · 21/03/2010 22:15

ra29 - I can only presume that you are going on the assumption that as an abused child babyP could grow up to be an abuser, ie Ian Huntley!

That itself is a pretty sick connection to make. If that was not then connection you meant then I don't have a fecking clue what your on about.

HellBent · 21/03/2010 22:15

I think ra29 was trying to say that most people were utterly horrified by the abuse that baby p suffered. And utterly horrified by the crimes Huntley commited. Had baby p lived he might have gone on to commit crimes such as this? Not really relevant to this discussion though

ra29needsabettername · 21/03/2010 22:16

The point is that when children are horrifically abused or tortured they often (although obviously not always) develop severe difficulties in all kinds of relational areas. My point is we all felt terrible for the torture that Baby P went through but if he had survived and not received intensive therapy but had grown up without ever having received anything but pathologically cruel treatment and then had gone on to relate to others in the same way, perhaps even killed a child all sympathy or worse all thinking would be gone and we would just have utterly unhelpful threads like this rejoicing in his torture.

It's much much harder to see a complex picture- far easier to see black and white but it makes me feel terribly depressed. What good does torturing this man do? Does it bring those poor girls back?

Lionstar · 21/03/2010 22:16

ilovesprouts yourself. I'm not running an IH fanclub here, just expressing some concern about the bloodthirsty nature of some comments

HellBent · 21/03/2010 22:17

There is often that connection though jaquelinehyde

ilovesprouts · 21/03/2010 22:19

shame they dint finish the evil sod off, like the rest of em !!

jaquelinehyde · 21/03/2010 22:23

Yes I understand that HB which is why I got what was being said.

However, it is one thing to make the connection and another to brand the grown up babyP a child murderer.

ShadeofViolet · 21/03/2010 22:23

I agree that there is often a connection, however we cannot expect it, and to bring Baby P's name into the whole debate is pretty bloody sick!

OP posts:
HellBent · 21/03/2010 22:24

Like I said not really relevant to this discussion

ShadeofViolet · 21/03/2010 22:26

Exactly.

OP posts:
HellBent · 21/03/2010 22:28

Hey everyone! Other thead seems a bit more reasoned if you want an actual discussion. If you'd rather a rant then stick here!

ra29needsabettername · 21/03/2010 22:28

Why is it not relevant? Because it's just too much to have to have to confront the reality that a beautiful abused baby can become a pathological abuser?

2shoes · 21/03/2010 22:31

omg
I have seen it all
now we have peopl making up storys about what a tragic baby might have done as a grown up.
SICK

HellBent · 21/03/2010 22:32

ra29 I agree with you and indeed wrote an essay about it in my criminology class. This thread is not exactly swimming with reasoned debate just ranting morons. You should start a new thread if you want.

ShadeofViolet · 21/03/2010 22:33

ra29needsabettername - what else can you see in your crystal ball?

OP posts:
SuSylvester · 21/03/2010 22:33

lol " i wrote an essay"

2shoes · 21/03/2010 22:35

HellBent · 21/03/2010 22:35

twas quite a good one too

HellBent · 21/03/2010 22:36

Quattrocento · 21/03/2010 22:37

Oh, a second vigilante corner.
