I favour the death penalty and in my ideal world he'd have been dead long since. Most people consider me a barbarian for that yet it's ok to cheer this kind of thing?

Should we legalise murder generally if it's considered a good thing to murder someone you personally don't approve of it?

Ivykaty44 · 21/03/2010 21:04

He can rot in hell, yes there is even a tier system in jail of crimes committed and repulsed

stickylittlefingers · 21/03/2010 21:04

I don't feel sympathy for him, none whatosever, but I like to live a civilised society under the rule of law.

Charlieandlola · 21/03/2010 21:04

Oh dear what a shame never mind.

Lionstar · 21/03/2010 21:07

I am in no way sympathetic to him or his crimes and think he deserves everything that our justice system has in store for him. Like some other posters have pointed out his life in prison is hardly a bed of roses, and in many ways is a more fitting punishment than the quick release of death. However I do think some of the bloodthirsty statements on this thread are beyond unnecessary, almost braying for the death of a human being - just a bit sickening.

muggglewump · 21/03/2010 21:08

My reaction to reading that was one of horror, horror that that can happen in prison.

It doesn't matter in this case what he did, or what I think of him, but to be able to do that to someone in prison horrifies me

What of it had happened to an innocent man, or a tax evader, or some other crime where we weren't supposed to hate the perpetrator?
Or does it happen because a blind eye is given when IH is concerned?

I still don't like that though.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 21/03/2010 21:08

Here here lionstar

madly · 21/03/2010 21:09

Can't see the link, however if this man had murdered my beloved daughter, then there would be no punishment, legal or not that would be too harsh.

I hope the parents of these lovely girls get true justice soon.

jaquelinehyde · 21/03/2010 21:10

I feel no sympathy for this man, I doubt many could.

However, some of the comments on this thread are disgusting.

Why not put two inmates in the ring together to fight to the death. You can cheer and whoop as the one you feel deserves it more is stabbed, sliced beaten, and burned?

No, oh I see it's OK to cheer it on so long as you don't have to see it?!

abride · 21/03/2010 21:11

Yes, it's great that a bunch of criminals decide on punishments. Wonder what some of them did themselves? Rape? Murder? That gives them the 'right' to mete out justice, yes?

Katz · 21/03/2010 21:17

i agree with lionstar - plus the injury wouldn't have been inflicted because the other criminal has a moral compass but because in killing IH he would have become the 'top dog' of the jail.

mnady - what exactly would be 'true' justice, surely given our legal system life imprisionment is all that can have been given in terms of justice, nothing a judge or their parents can do to IH will bring them back.

LynetteScavo · 21/03/2010 21:18

I'm with Lionstar.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 21/03/2010 21:20

TBH - huntly is likely to be in a vulnerable prisoner unit, in which case everybody else in there would be hated by the rest of the prison population as well, mostly for sex offences.

I find it sad that some on here want them as their representative of justice

wannaBe · 21/03/2010 21:20

I have no sympathy for him.

But let's be honest - whoever did this isn't some innocent person seeking justice - it's most likely someone with an equally dodgy past wanting to be elevated to the status of hero both inside and out.

I wonder how the rapest's victims feel about the fact people up and down the country are cheering his actions.

We don't have the death penalty in this country. So it's not ok to let it in via the back door.

TheCrackFox · 21/03/2010 21:28

I hope he lives for another 50 yrs in fear of the next horrifying attack from a fellow inmate.

totallydifferenttypeofperson · 21/03/2010 21:29

Well said Lionstar. Huntly committed a vicious crime (which would have been just as vile if the girls hadn't quite been quite as "lovely", madly) and he is serving a sentence in prison for it. It is as sickening to cheer an attack like this as it is to demand the death penalty.

SoupDragon · 21/03/2010 21:30

Yes, because two wrongs make a right don't they

2shoes · 21/03/2010 21:45

TheCrackFox well said
I hope he is in fear of his life everyday.

Alouiseg · 21/03/2010 21:49

I wonder how much it costs the taxpayer to keep that miserable murdering paedo and his ilk alive. Imagine being he doctor who had to treat him.

foxytocin · 21/03/2010 21:55

I hate these threads. brings out the worst in posters. will now dutifully hide it before being told so

ra29needsabettername · 21/03/2010 21:58

This thread is utterly repulsive.

What kind of person do you think Baby P would have turned out to be if he had survived?

2shoes · 21/03/2010 22:00

??

ShadeofViolet · 21/03/2010 22:01
