I imagine the headmistress' study at school looks very much like a large living room, with a desk in the corner - not unlike many livingrooms around the country. She will have her own private bathroom.

I get the idea from the article that her return to work so soon wasn't particularly planned. She just went in to show off the baby, and started pottering about. It's not a physically strenuous job, just one with lots of brief meetings and lots of paperwork, which I am sure that most of which can be fitted around the baby without any juggling at all.

As for the press coverage, it looks like it has taken the press six months to catch up with her. In my experience, local newspapers are desperate for stories so ask the school if there is anything remotely newsworthy.

I think this is a horrendous example for her to set. not only was it not wise for her own health and that of her newborn, the subliminal message is "look at me girls, anything less than this and you've failed"

you cannot have it all. you cannot be fully looking after and bonding with and nurturing a baby AND fully attentive and 100% focussed on your job. Its not possible.
