Very very sad.

mamazon · 27/01/2010 23:59

sounds as though the mum has some mental health issues.

mateykatie · 28/01/2010 00:38

cannot possibly fathom what goes through a mothers mind to do this??

Rombouts · 28/01/2010 10:26

She was obviously not mentally stable, Tragic all round.

they spoke on news of a website where she discussed her daughter.....god this could be a mumsnetter. it also said she split with her husband.

poor little children.

what drove her to this?

noddyholder · 28/01/2010 13:34

This is the saddest thing .She must have been in turmoil mentally to do something like that

Slartybartfast · 28/01/2010 17:37

i think it was friends reunited.

yerblurt · 28/01/2010 22:34

Murdered her children it seems. How incredibly selfish.

TheChicOfIt · 29/01/2010 11:54

Apparently she gave them Nytol.

I read somewhere that it can cause asphyxiation (sp?) - do you think she maybe wanted to get them to sleep and gave them too much?

Even if it was an accident, it's a bloody stupid thing to do to give your kids sleeping tablets even if they are herbal .

If it was intentional then surely there was another answer, whatever the problem.

TheChicOfIt · 29/01/2010 11:56

Also apparently the ex-h (dc's dad) had concerns for the dc's welfare and had told police prior to this happening.

docmartin · 29/01/2010 13:56

latest developments here although it is the sun newspaper

UnquietDad · 29/01/2010 23:32

It is awfully sad.

I knew there would be sympathy for the mother on here and thoughts along the lines of "what was going through her mind?" and "she must have had some mental health issues." All perfectly reasonable to say.

Contrast, though, with the MAN who jumped off the hotel balcony with his children last year, who obviously also had similar issues. It all all "selfish bastard" this and "evil monster" that. Oh, but you see, did I mention he was a MAN? You're allowed to say that kind of thing about big nasty evil MEN.

Heathcliffscathy · 29/01/2010 23:36

unquietdad, my thoughts precisely re different reactions on here when it is a woman or a man.

horrendously sad.

galletti · 29/01/2010 23:38

Happen to agree with you UQD but maybe it is us women in denial/shock that as mums we just can't get our heads round a mum doing something like this. Personally can't get my head round anyone doing it, but there are so many different reasons why, and we, as sound minded, rational people cannot begin to understand.

DuelingFanjo · 29/01/2010 23:44

Actually - I felt an incredible amount of sympathy for that man. I think the posters who shout the loudest about bastard men are the ones people remember but there are several posters here with a more steady and reasonable view.

2shoes · 29/01/2010 23:56

UnquietDad good post
