OP posts:
TheFoosa · 28/12/2009 10:46

she.is.a.twat

Tn0g · 28/12/2009 10:47

She is a twat and is getting paid for being one.

clam · 28/12/2009 10:49

Does she do this on purpose? Must do.

Lifeinagoldfishbowl · 28/12/2009 10:49

I loved the bit where she says I never get to go on holiday

OP posts:
TotalChaos · 28/12/2009 10:50

poor liz, never getting a holiday . let's hope david avoids becoming fodder for next week's column.

cherryblossoms · 28/12/2009 11:14

Be fair, folks.
She's adopting a persona and voicing all the things that, I would guess, some folks would think, and then discounting them.

And I have to say, I'm now thinking that volunteering in a homeless shelter would be a worthwhile thing to do one christmas.

franke · 28/12/2009 11:31

I agree with cherryblossoms - give her a bit of a break (just a little bit)

I feel sorry for David though, just when he thought things couldn't get any worse....

tethersjinglebellend · 28/12/2009 11:38

RUN, David, RUN!!!

FunnyLittleFrog · 28/12/2009 11:49

Would she have even done this if it wasn't for her DM column? Doubt it. She is a self-absorbed loon.

edam · 28/12/2009 11:55

Cherry's right, for once Liz is doing something very positive - holding up DM readers' prejudices to the light and demolishing them.

She may often be a twonk but this column is A Good Thing.

Tortington · 28/12/2009 12:08

that was a great article

Georgimama · 28/12/2009 12:14

"I have helped the homeless in India in the past on working holidays. They are sweet. They are grateful. They live in a country with no safety net. But homeless people in the West? Surely these people are mostly drug addicts, drunks and prostitutes. They like doing what they do, they won't want my help."

MORON!!!!

MollieO · 28/12/2009 12:15

I thought as soon as I saw the thread title that it must be Liz Jones again. What's the betting that she will do a 'my life as a homeless person' article soon?

Surprised she didn't wear her poverty jodphurs and I feel very sorry for David if he is going to be her 2010 project.

edam · 28/12/2009 12:16

Georgi, but the point is the article shows that her prejudices were a. wrong and b. daft.

Georgimama · 28/12/2009 12:17

Really? I just saw her replacing her previous prejudices with some even more ghastly faux Christian charity. Blerugh.

ImSoNotTelling · 28/12/2009 12:42

It's like a parody, isn't it.

edam · 28/12/2009 12:49

Yeah, but bear in mind the readership.

expatinscotland · 28/12/2009 12:58

They're smelly and scary?

You just know her house pongs to high heaven with all those animals she shacks up with.

festivefreakout · 28/12/2009 12:59

holy f*. I have to laugh at the woman or I'd be sending her hate mail...

ImSoNotTelling · 28/12/2009 12:59

As far as I can tell the readership, especially of liz jones, is mainly us

MadameOvary · 28/12/2009 13:02

She could reduce the irritant factor by not naming labels every five minutes.
"My BMW"
"My Michael Kors handbag"

She is way scarier than any homeless person IMO, and so screwed up that she could easily be a statistic but for a twist of fate.

[Easily imagines Liz as bag lady]

BaronessBarbaraKingstanding · 28/12/2009 13:02

She is parodying herself and cosy middle class 'I'm all right, but I don't understand the reality of others lives' attitude.

She is pretending to be this stupid in the knowledge that many people actually are, and she is exaggeratng her neuroticism and pampered lifestyle for affect.

She obvioulsy is extremely neurotic nd pampered, but this is now her USP.

But she also wrote an article a day or so before, saying she understood what it must feel like to be homeless as she'd been kicked out of a London hotel in the snowy weather for not being able to pay up-front. What with being broke, due to having frittered spent her considerable income on cashmere fleeces for stray cats and bat refuges and stuff.... Life is tough out there for some people, ladies.
Fortunately, in case anyone's worried, her agent came along to bail her out, and she was, I presume, able to partake of the hotel valeting her BMW and serving her hot toddies in comfort.

MrsMattie · 28/12/2009 13:38

She's a complete looner
