Liz Jones; is it a joke?

Kirkers · 21/12/2009 14:05

I have just read Liz Jones's latest about her lonely Christmas. Apologies if this has been asked before, but I want to know how much truth there is because she sounds very low to me. I felt guilty after Diana died because I had been following her exploits. Does any body know whether she is joking/exaggerating or not? I will feel dreadful if she tops herself and leaves a dramatic last piece for the Mail on Sunday.

I have asked the only person I know on Exmoor but they only know what they have read in the Mail/

What a bizarre thread - do you really care so much about a bunch of 'celebs' (I use the word extremely loosely)

HerBeatitude · 22/12/2009 21:49

Well she's welcome to come to mine for christmas. She'd fit in well with all the other dysfunctional loons relatives who are coming along.

Suspect she won't like the coffee though

good grief what self indulgent tripe, no wonder she's on her own

MaggieAnFiaRua · 22/12/2009 22:29

She's a parody of herself now! the picture of her with the cat on her knee was too funny!

SerenityNowAKABleh · 23/12/2009 10:18

Here's the article about when she lived on benefits. I think she may have realised what a self-absorbed cow she is, but only until the end of the article.

HerBeatitude · 23/12/2009 11:13

LOL I seriously don't think she means this stuff. It's all a big joke and we've all been had. Hats off to her.

Oblomov · 23/12/2009 11:21

You worry about LIz Jones's wellbeing.
Ladies, you are too kind.

Bobbiewickham · 23/12/2009 11:27

Carrie Bradshaw????

I knew dear old Liz was deluded, but Jesus wept...

Carrie Bradshaw?????????????

Self indulgent bogswill. I just love the way she completely dismisses the possibility of spending Christmas with her mum because she has dementia, then expects us all to feel sorry for her.

I feel sorry for her cats.

Oblomov · 23/12/2009 11:29

i disagree with choosy, i don't think it is made up. she is just sad. which is a shame.
but no, she is really really SAD. self obsessed.
I think her column IS how she really feels.

I've been following her for years. I love her column.
Hope she doesn't top herself.
Where will I get all my laffs then ?

Oblomov · 23/12/2009 11:32

what about, she moves to dorset.
and writes in her column that she wants to have an affair with the local farmer.
he knows nothing of any of this.
funnily enough his wife is not impressed.

How to adhere yourself to the locals, yet again Liz. Nice one.

Shodan · 23/12/2009 11:46

She doesn't sound sad or desperate. She sounds whingey and self-pitying.

There's a price for everything. The price for smug superiority at the airport and selfishness and laziness for 364 days of the year is that for the other day, you are alone.

Tough luck love. Your choice. Get over it.

brandybutterfly · 23/12/2009 12:28

She keeps saying she has lots of debt so I assume she writes all this tripe to pay them off!

MrsGuyOfChristmasBorn · 23/12/2009 15:48

I have always felt sorry for her with having that ghastly ex of hers who writes smugly giving sex advice in the Evening Standard. But recently have lost a bit of sympathy and utterly bored with her animals. I think her column has run its course, and suprised it hasn't been canned.

NiceShoes · 23/12/2009 15:57

I had never heard of Liz Jones until MN.she seems like a bit of an obsession in these parts

hocuspontas · 23/12/2009 16:05

I can understand why her siblings don't want her spoiling their Christmas but why isn't she visiting her mother or helping at a shelter? Self-indulgent twaddle as usual...

Lulumama · 23/12/2009 16:06

i feel a bit sorry for her, but only in that she has never made the connection between her loneliness and lack of invitations with being a vicious and insulting boor. i feel sorry for anyone without the ability to reflect and learn from their own behaviour.

she has alienated everyone, and even lied to her own husband about her age, no?

so , that is why the mantel is bereft of invites.

your reap what you sow, innit?

NiceShoes · 23/12/2009 16:09

Liz comes across as sad and insecure, scared and searching. So so thin

fanjolina · 23/12/2009 16:10

she is a looneytune

jaquelinehydeThePresents · 23/12/2009 16:12

She's a cock and is alone for this very reason. No sympathy here.

tethersjinglebellend · 23/12/2009 16:14

I do find it sad that just because she is a massive cunt, nobody wants to spends Christmas with her.

Ooops, sorry, not sad, 'funny'.

I always get those two words confused.

NiceShoes · 23/12/2009 16:14

She is mental, looks almost translucent. I dont get her at all.

fanjolina · 23/12/2009 16:16

PMSL at tethers

2babyblues · 23/12/2009 16:18

There are far better causes to worry yourself about!

hatwoman · 23/12/2009 16:23

hocuspontas that's exactly what I was going to say. she's an intelligent, wealthy woman. she has no excuse. get up early, feed the animals, then go to the old folks' home where your mum is, or to a homeless shelter and roll up your fecking sleeves. you might even have fun
