I HATE MUMSNET: Why one mum thinks the parenting website is smug, patronising and vicious

Goodness she does sound bitter.

I think "smug, patronising and vicious" is a a pretty accurate description of the article by Sarah Chalmers.

There are some quite good observations in the article but the general tone is OTT.

The daily mail never print my comments.

Loads of negative responses being received from obvious mumsnetters. I just made a comment pointing out that it was bizarre to give a negative response to a post saying that somebody got support after their misscarriages. What coudl possibly be BAD about that, or a lie??

Weird. However that post has received negative feedback.

A lot of those other articles linked to by SC had NO comments at all!

The good thing about Mumsnet (and all websites) is that they come with this amazing little red cross in the top right hand corner, you just click on it and they go away.

I wish real life had such a function!

Really don't give a fig about what some hack writes about the site but am slightly disturbed by the fact that the Heartbeat actor appears to be wearing leather trousers.

Soupy: This Week On Mumsnet was running when I last checked (a couple of weeks ago) but when they run other articles about MN (like this one) they seem to pull it

Why did I think MN had stopped on MN this week?

I left a comment last night and it hasn't appeared. Now I wonder why that is? Wasn't a very insulting one either... I had to sit on my hands Silly tart.

They changed the format so it was more 'comment' rather than a list of direct quotes but it still kept running

I joined mumsnet to find others interested in preserving the British way of life. I was badly let down by what I can only describe as a gaggle of bored and boring bullies.

Obama - no, I don't think she is. Have just read the whole thread (I really must get on) and some great detective work by our resident insomniacs last night eventually came to the conclusion they are not the same person.

I must say I am MUCH happier that Mumsnet has this sort of profile on the Daily Mail atm, rather than the previous "we love each other and we are in each others pockets" one - I know there's a word for that but can't dredge it up right now - of yore.
