Coming home in a cab and I heard the news. He was on holiday in Majorca. Went partying, came back, went to sleep. Never woke up.

Just read the Daily Mail, Dr Sanjay Sharma leading consultant in sudden death has given his explanation, it has upst me as I lost my son in the same way. Strange also as tomorrow I have an appt with Sharma at Lewisham hosp, he is going to run checks on my three, I feel sick and scared, its a horrible thing to live with. I feel so much for Stephens family, its a nightmare you never recover from.

I don't think you can blame people for assuming it might be drink or drugs related - when a young pop/rock star or actor dies prematurely it usually is.

Just to let you all know that my three have healthy strong hearts A very long day up in London, left here at 8.30am and got home at 8pm! Prof Sharma was wonderful, all three had ecg+echo, all fine. He said he would see them again in 5yrs, they would then be almost 17, but as I lost Matthew at 14 I felt unhappy about that, so he has agreeed to see them in 2 yrs time, then three yrs after that, oh...............a good day

Great news triplets.

Thank you Hulababy, it is so upsetting watching your child have an ecg+echo, I know they are particularly unpleasant, but my heart goes over, just knowing the reason why we are there. I told Prof Sharma that I had read his comments in the paper re Stephen Gately and he said he is convinced Stephen is another victim of SADS(sudden arrythmia death syndrome) and that he had been in touch with his parents. Anyway, I will sleep better tonight than I did last night

triplets · 15/10/2009 23:07

sorry, meant of course that they are not particularly unpleasant tests, I am blitzed tonight, bed!
