Model with flabby tummy shocks the world

According to the Daily Mail

How sad is that? That we are so used to the airbrushed perfection of models that a tiny pic of a normal woman causes such a fuss.

She is 5ft 11in and 12 1/2st and is considered too big to model plus sizes

I think she looks fab. I have a wee tummy just like hers and she has made me feel much better about it.

not even i, who is advocator of the comfy shoe to travel to work, could possibly put on trainers with tights and a skirt suit.

cheesesarnie · 03/09/2009 12:27

women in london.argh.

Tortington · 03/09/2009 12:27

i am thanks sarnie!

Chees I think its because she doesnt say 'I think' she states as facts. To be honest her comments make me smile as its 'just Anna' other peoples comments annoy me more

noddyholder · 03/09/2009 12:28

I wear trainers with skirts sometimes Helpppppppp!!!!

Really happy to see a positive image like this, I think it is great news!

YummyorSlummy · 03/09/2009 12:30

How do we know the model doesn't have a child btw??
I'm 21 and (post ds) that looks a lot like my tummy- I don't think it's that bad! I'm the ideal weight for my height so I know I'm definately not overweight either!

Mamazon · 03/09/2009 12:31

i didn't aim my comments about not having a daughter to Ann directly. but im sorry if you have such a screwed up view of what is healthy and what is fat then god help any pubescant child, of either gender, in that household.

and that is to ANYONE that thinks like that. including most magazine editors and fashion designers who claim anyone above a size 0 is fat.

its bloody ridiculous.

it is attitudes like these that force women to feel so negativly about baby weight, mummy tummy's and themselves in general.

that is NOT an unhealthy tummy at all and it is deeply worrying that so many women seem to think iyt is. that to me is unhealthy!

NorkilyChallenged · 03/09/2009 12:32

It's one thing to say "I wouldn't be happy with a tummy like that" and quite another to say "she is fat and any doctor would be unhappy with that as it's unhealthy" (paraphrasing as too lazy busy to go back and check exact wording).

I don't agree with swearing directly at people. I did make a sarky remark but then, if you are going to say clearly inflammatory things, then you probably aren't going to object to a bit of a sarky response?

noddyholder · 03/09/2009 12:33

Some ops give you that.I have had a lot of stomach surgery and had thsat before ds came along

Tortington · 03/09/2009 12:37

i want to have my flap removed and tits lifted - but i need to spend my money on other things.

i don't believe the trainer and skirts thing noddy i'm afraid, you are always the embodiment of beautiful whenever i see you.

Lizzylou · 03/09/2009 12:39

Have you seen Kimberley from Girlsaloud's photos for NewLook? She looks amazing. She doesn't have a wobbly tum (from what I can see!) but she is very much a pear shape and probably the largest out of Girlsaloud (not difficult, thats for sure).

Here

noddyholder · 03/09/2009 12:39

Oh that is kind custy but I do!.It is my homage to lily allen when she becomes an oap! I would love to get rid of that flap of skin too but always have other things to spend on.

Mamazon · 03/09/2009 12:41

why are we trying to find some valid reason for her to have a lesds than perfectly tonned stomach?

This has really wound me up actually. there's one thing saying we need to fight obesity in children but how can we teach what healthy looks like when so many grown intelligent women seem to be getting it so painfully wrong.

and for those that have said they'd be unhappy to look like that.....you are proof of all im saying. future generations will become even more neurotic about their weight because of things like this.

Mamazon · 03/09/2009 12:44

I've met Kimberly Walsh (and the rest of GA) and they are all miniscule.
i think i could fit my hand around their waist i really do.

none are more than a size 8 at most.
and they are all utterly utterly gorgeous and very lovely withit

cheesesarnie · 03/09/2009 12:50

that's the thing-imo.big,small,average(what ever that is) shouldn't matter.the model is beautiful.

Lizzylou · 03/09/2009 12:53

Really Mamazon?
Kimberley always looks like she would be a size 12 compared to the others (on TV only, never seen her in rl).

I really would love to look like that in that lace dress, her figure is amazing, she is very beautiful.

HerBeatitude · 03/09/2009 12:56

That's because the others are all size 0!

Mamazon · 03/09/2009 12:57

wouldn't we all! she has a fantastic figure, but yes she is teeny tiny.

they all are so in comparison to Cheryl (size 4) i guess she would look bigger

HerBeatitude · 03/09/2009 12:57

Size 4 didn't even exist 20 years ago.
