I think it is a rather nice send off,
Fitting.
Nice to hear others sing his songs

the burden is beyond a reasonable doubt, tdiddy. when you're king of your own land you can change things to the more rigorous 1000%, 'kay?

and i've explained the defence strategy at least five times on here... that's how he got off. because he had a freakin' amazing defence team who played the jury like a lute.

Dittany, I've agreed with points Lulumama has raised and I've disagreed with others. If you litter your arguments with flimsy evidence taken from dubious sources such as The Smoking Gun, what do you expect me to do? Agree with you just to even it out?

Got to collect my kids now. I've leave you all to it then.

Oh and I'm sorry, I didn't realise you had me sat on the jury. I didn't realise that I had to sift through your evidence and come up with a verdict. Because if I don't, of course, I'm 'allowing' abuse to go on.

I hate this guy but right now I reserve the right to use him!

that smoking gun report actually only lists that porn of women was found. if you read it carefully it says

" The affidavit sworn in support of the Neverland raid lists items that investigators were looking for", not that the things they were looking for were found.

A "book containing pictures of children on beach," means nothing. I have books with pictures of children on the beach, doesn't make me guilty of Paedophilia.

Also note: "On the inventory, Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department officials reported seizing "The Chop Suey Club" a book described as containing "photos of nude young boys." While it may sound to the uninitiated like some Asian rough trade volume, the book is actually by famed fashion photographer Bruce Weber"

and

"The book "Poo-Chi," detectives wrote, contained "photographs of female groin area." Officers, they only look like the female groin area! The volume is the, um, inventive work of Mayumi Lake, who photographs underarms and knees to create the illusion that you are looking at a woman's nether region. Some photo titles: "Wetting Porn," "Puffy Pink Porn," and "Cheerleader Porn."

so Basically Art Work.

Is this really Evidence?

TDiddy · 09/07/2009 15:03

I didn't see anyone say that OJ is innocent. The only link is that they are both black stars???

The police cocked up the OJ evidence. OJ lost in civil court (on the balance of probability). Are you saying that the police cocked up MJ evidence?

Aitcho- give us an idea of how certain you are about your theory? 100pc?

beanieb · 09/07/2009 15:04

Rhubarb or someone else, can you post another link to the articles mentioned?

that is if you want me to read them...

AitchTwoOh · 09/07/2009 15:05

rhubarb. of course we don't KNOW. how could we possibly KNOW? i don't KNOW that you've got any legal training, i don't KNOW that you're not some horny-handed trucker with a MJ fixation. we're just discussing the matter.

the burden is 'beyond reasonable doubt'. and i personally feel that maureen orth's carefully written and researched articles provide plenty of unchallenged evidence to overwhelm the burden. once you've read them, if you don't, then it might be interesting to have a discussion about it. but at the moment all you're trying to do is squelch everything that's remotely anti-MJ, which doesn't sound impartial at all.

(and please see my pp on impartiality btw. Maureen Orth doesn't have to be impartial. i'd find it hard to be impartial if i'd had fathers crying down the phone to me about the guilt they were suffering for having let MJ sleep with their kids. she has to be fair and truthful).

read the articles.

TDiddy · 09/07/2009 15:07

Dittany- are you more certain about this one than you were that Obama is corrupt? People through stuff around without even considering the impact on others. Like I read some vile unfounded stuff about the McCanns on MN.

TDiddy · 09/07/2009 15:08

through throw stuff

You provided just a list of things found there but nothing to back up that there was any child porn found.

AitchTwoOh · 09/07/2009 15:11

for those of you maintaining bonkersly that he's only done this to two boys and that no-one else testified. this is orht's description of part of the trial.

"Jason Francia, the handsome son of a former personal maid at Neverland, was the only young man to come forward and tell the jury that Michael Jackson had molested him, beginning when he was seven. After five years of therapy, the devout evangelical Christian said, he now works as a mentor to troubled young people and as a salesman of auto parts. He was 17, he said, when he learned that his mother, Blanca Francia, had agreed to a $2.4 million settlement with Jackson over three allegations of fondling him, and he had found out only two days prior to taking the stand that she had sold her story to tabloid TV for $20,000.

Francia testified that twice at Jackson's "hideout" apartment in Los Angeles the pop star had engaged him in tickling games during which he would move his hands over the boy's genitalia on the outside of his shorts. "Pretty much at every tickle thing there was money," he said, adding that both times Jackson gave him a hundred-dollar bill. As he described a third time, at Neverland when he was about 10 and Jackson's hands were inside his pants, his eyes welled up with tears, and he had to stop. When detectives questioned him in 1993, during the investigation into the Chandler case, he was 13 and at first denied that anything untoward had happened to him. A short time later, however, he disclosed details to the police.

During a break the judge took for a conference at the bench in the middle of Francia's testimony, I was alarmed by the indifference of the jurors. The young man sitting in the witness-box before them had just gone through one of the most humiliating ordeals of his life, but they did not exhibit the slightest sign of empathy. They ignored him as they laughed and talked together. I suddenly wondered if we have not all watched so much Dr. Phil and Oprah that we can no longer distinguish between real pain and entertainment."

beanieb · 09/07/2009 15:11

also on that smoking gun thing there's a link to an article saying vaseline was found. Shock horror.

dittany - I did read the source; the witness statement. But obviously that only gives one side. A witness statement alone is not sufficient evidence for me.

fgs, beanieb. even rhubarb acknowledges that there was 'erotic material'.

young boy, older guy, they've both publicly declared they love each other, their fingerprints are on the mag in question, there's wine in soda cans... yeah yeah nothing's going on. i'd definitely be happy with that if it was my kid. no problem. what is wrong with you people?
