Here's one prediction www.predict09.eu/default/en-us/state_analyses.aspx#united

Cheeringly, it reckons that the BNP won't win a seat. Here's hoping.

Good night Eighties...

It was akin to a banana republic!

Yeah.

policywonk · 08/06/2009 01:33

Yeah, Lewes is a lot like a banana republic (Lewes being seat of E Sussex county gov, fact fans)

policywonk · 08/06/2009 01:35

Right, if NW doesn't declare by 2am I'll have to flake...

OP posts:

Right, cheese sandwich then bed.

come on NW

SomeGuy · 08/06/2009 01:38

Apparently BNP may have beaten UKIP by 2000 votes for last North West seat.

In the end it could come down to the ballot papers which were folded to hide UKIP and quite possibly send their voters to the BNP/other parties.

Oops.

kate1956 · 08/06/2009 01:40

sky news is saying that BNP has won - can life get more depressing?

policywonk · 08/06/2009 01:41

Any indication when the result might come in, SG?

Maybe we could all get behind UKIP's calls for a re-run

OP posts:
policywonk · 08/06/2009 01:45

kate, hang on to the fact that overall, the BNP have not increased the absolute numbers of votes polled - they've just increased their share of the vote due to TWATS WHO DIDN'T BOTHER TO VOTE

OP posts:
SomeGuy · 08/06/2009 01:50

It's ex-Labour voters who are to blame. They should have voted for another major party.

kate1956 · 08/06/2009 01:50

yeah i know it's just depressing that the fact they've got elected will legitimise them for many people and we can look forward to their nazi scum crap appearing on the media even more - can you tell I'm peeved! wish they would officially declare NW so i could go to bed but glad at least there's others up too!

SomeGuy · 08/06/2009 01:52

It's basically 98% that BNP have won in North West.

SomeGuy · 08/06/2009 01:54

West Midlands now:

1 Tory
2 UKIP
3 Labour
4 Tory
5 Lib Dem

SomeGuy · 08/06/2009 02:04

mazzystartled · 08/06/2009 02:05

its absolutely tragic

i feel sick

SomeGuy · 08/06/2009 02:05

UKIP 9th by only 2,448 votes.

it was the dodgy ballot papers wot dun it.

Green 10th by about 5000 votes.

kate1956 · 08/06/2009 02:06

sick here too

policywonk · 08/06/2009 02:06

Well there we go. Shit.

OP posts:
SomeGuy · 08/06/2009 02:08

BBC people don't understand PR. 2,448 votes more for UKIP, not 1,200......

policywonk · 08/06/2009 02:09

I think you are possibly the only person in this country who does understand this particular system, SG
