Burlesque - same as stripping, or an art form?

Sorry if I'm a bit late with this one, but a quick MN search didn't suggest it's already been covered. Just seen this article saying that Camden Council have decided that burlesque is on a par with lapdancing etc. I would disagree, but I'd be interested in the response of others.

But men dressing up is sexy - we just don't tend to want them to do it in a less is more kind of way iyswim.

Put my DH in full pirate costume complete with eyeliner, and he has to beat me off with a stick, the same with a suit. Many women are like that with firemen/soldiers etc. DH is very very shy and insular so he doesn't actually enjoy doing it - men with a different personality do.
