having just given birth to baby petal

congrats to them all, and hurrah for Jools for standing outside showing the world that after youve had your baby you still look exactly the same as you did at 9 months pregnant good on her for showing off the post-baby belly instead of covering it up in the manner of 'look how thin I am having giving birth x hours ago'

OP posts:

I remember DH asking me why I was packing maternity jeans to wear home from hospital

"Um, maybe there's something I should explain..."

NiceShoes · 04/04/2009 14:12

i really dont like jools, she is so moaney and drippy

MuffinBaker · 04/04/2009 14:20

I clearly don't know Jools but I think she is lovely.

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 04/04/2009 17:24

When I had my first baby, in the next bed was a girl of 16. Her stomach was washboard about 10 hours after the birth when I was wheelled in. Feeling every minute of my 32 yrs. Which sounds incredibly young to me NOW

Poppity · 04/04/2009 17:33

Ahhhhh! I want another one. Aren't the older two cute?

bronze · 04/04/2009 17:39

I had to comment. There were two men with but she still looks pregnant comments who I felt liek slapping.

Ledodgy · 04/04/2009 17:40

God I wish I had that figure now nevermind a day after having a baby!

Ledodgy · 04/04/2009 17:42

Apart from the belly I mean have just seen the bottom pic.

BeehiveBaby · 04/04/2009 17:45

Just how organised do you have to be to dress differently aged kids identically? ALways wondered this....

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 04/04/2009 18:01

lovely pictures....gorgeous Baby and Jools looks fabulous considering how recent she gave birth and am glad that those pics are in the papers, but also hope, that she isn't going to freak out...
Poppy and Daisy are stunning little girls, too...bless....

Simplysally · 04/04/2009 18:43

I like the coats but the shoes aren't right somehow. It's a bit of a 70s thing though to dress siblings alike.

StealthPolarBear · 04/04/2009 18:51

I was well prepared by MN and packed maternity trousers for after the birth, knowing that I would still have a bump. However I packed the ones I wore at 6/7ish months, that were too small by the end. I thought losing almost 8lb of baby not to mention the sac and placenta would het me back into them but apparently not - ended up leaving the button undone Won't be making that mistake this time.
Lovely pictures, and as others have said I'm glad she's showing the reality of having just given birth, while still looking great!

SobranieCocktail · 04/04/2009 18:55

Yay! for Jools showing her post-partum tum. Wish I'd seen a few more of them before giving birth myself . I was quite alarmed at the size of my ever-so-slightly deflated bump.

Her thighs are enviable.

BedofRosesItAintII · 04/04/2009 20:03

Made me feel broody...

notnowbernard · 04/04/2009 20:08

She looks great, glowing

The thing I wondered though was this: 8hrs post-birth I felt as if I was haemorraging (obv I wasn't, but DEFINITELY needed 3 pads at once for the first 24hrs)

WHERE had she stuffed hers?!

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 04/04/2009 20:48

good point not now....those pads are massive....and I always felt very self conscience about them showing, etc....so...hmm...

slackrunner · 04/04/2009 20:58

That's what I thought notnowbernard. The thought of going in front of the paps with 3 industrial sized pads wedged down by trousers .

They look very normal don't they - apart from the slightly odd identical "Sunday" outfits of the older girls. Still I guess they might have chosen them themselves (my dd has odd taste if not guided). I prefer a slightly more chaotic/individual look myself.

fruitbeard · 05/04/2009 10:51

Just showed the pictures to DD (she's obsessed with babies atm) and told her the baby's name.

Her immediate response "Mummy, that's a terrible name for a baby!"

Sorrento · 05/04/2009 11:45

I think if I knew my girls were going to be photographed by the national press I'd be aiming for Sunday outfits rather than the normal juice stained sainsburys look we usually o for.

Simplysally · 05/04/2009 12:17

I bet Jools had the outfits for the older girls ready before she went in. She knows that the paps will be out.

lunamoon2 · 05/04/2009 13:00

Just posted over on the names board.

Agree, so nice to see her looking natural and still with a tummy.
Much better to see than all those other celebrity mums who look about the size of a 10 year old child 5 minutes after giving birth.

Gunnerbean · 05/04/2009 14:13

Surely this item would be more appropriately placed on the "Sleb Twaddle" board.

Hulababy · 05/04/2009 16:46

They are a lovely looking family. Beautiful girls.
