having just given birth to baby petal

congrats to them all, and hurrah for Jools for standing outside showing the world that after youve had your baby you still look exactly the same as you did at 9 months pregnant good on her for showing off the post-baby belly instead of covering it up in the manner of 'look how thin I am having giving birth x hours ago'

I agree- and I went all soppy/broody at shot of jamie kissing the little new born..

LIZS · 04/04/2009 12:59

I thought that too.

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 04/04/2009 12:59

Yes, good photo. Well done to her for 'being seen' and showing the World the reality of having your third baby!

(still bet she'll look like a model again in 6 wks though!!!)

littleducks · 04/04/2009 13:00

Link?

clam · 04/04/2009 13:25

As long as she doesn't take one look at that photo, freak and get straight down the gym!

twinsetandpearls · 04/04/2009 13:27

What I found odd was that when I read about this in the mail ( someone linked to it last night) they were praising her for getting back into her pre pregnancy jean within 6 hours. I though it was going to be another ridiculous article but infact she did look normal in the picture,

cyteen · 04/04/2009 13:29

I was just impressed she could stand up that soon after giving birth. I was far too knackered!

georgimama · 04/04/2009 13:30

The Daily Mail said "skinny jeans". They seem to have overlooked the fact that you can buy maternity skinny jeans and that is what she was wearing, she must have been with that tum.

Agree, it is entirely normal and natural for a woman to still look pregnant one day after the baby is born. Was a shock to me!

twinsetandpearls · 04/04/2009 13:30

Me too cyteen, I certainly would not have posed for a photoshoot although have only given birth once maybe it gets easier.

Simplysally · 04/04/2009 13:31

I have a belly similar to that that now and I gave birth nearly 9 years ago . I enjoy eating and drinking too much and I loathe the gym.

twinsetandpearls · 04/04/2009 13:32

Yes that is what I thought georgimama, it did say back in her skinny jeans though which seemed to imply her pre pregnancy ones and how fabulous that would be. But maybe I was in hairy feminist overdrive, the mail does get my back up without even trying.

nickschick · 04/04/2009 13:33

link pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

belgo · 04/04/2009 13:34

here

georgimama · 04/04/2009 13:34

No, not just you, I thought they were implying she was back in pre-pregnancy jeans, and that was clearly ludicrous. Anyone with eyes could see that would be impossible.

twinsetandpearls · 04/04/2009 13:35

marc Lemar from middlesex has clearly never given birth

twinsetandpearls · 04/04/2009 13:36

Georgimama you are clearly a hairy tree hugging feminist like me I will have you voting at least lib dem by tea time.

georgimama · 04/04/2009 13:36

Never. Not lib dem round here - our lib dem MP is too ghastly. I'd rather vote Labour, just to personally irritate him.

cornsilk · 04/04/2009 13:38

She looks fab.

emmabemmasmom · 04/04/2009 13:38

oh cross post! Sorry!

georgimama · 04/04/2009 13:38

Michelle from Dublin's got a lot to say on the subject too. I'm sure Jools Oliver is devastated that Michelle doesn't like the girls' coats.

twinsetandpearls · 04/04/2009 13:38

You see georgi you are considering it now, us lefties have ways of making you vote

ronshar · 04/04/2009 13:57

Wow a real post birth tummy in the newspapers. I wish I had seen someone like that when I had my first DD 9 years ago. It would have saved me looking lika a right ejit when I asked the midwfe why my tummy was still massive three days later

After number three last year I am beginning to wonder when my tummy will be flat again. O rif it will ever be flat again

Well done to Jools and what a beautiful baby girl.
