Jeez - bloody hell!!!!

I've had to stop it before watchin the whole thing. The poor poor children.

I'm crying my eyes out too now.

That poor boy, hiding beind his mum

themoon66 · 11/03/2009 13:19

Because she had tea with a male person

bamboobutton · 11/03/2009 13:19

that video is why we were so worried when SIL was seeing a man from the UAE. she refused to beleive this kind of stuff happened.

i feel sick watching that vid.

bamboobutton · 11/03/2009 13:20

believe even.

mamadiva · 11/03/2009 13:21

The tears were streaming here too, what kind of a 'law' would allow this to happen?

I don't know I feel most sorry for the mum or the kids they were all so distraught whilst the bastard father just walked around calmly pulling them off her

There was an earlier article saying she is not coping in prison and she has stopped eating etc, I hope she can pull together and get those boys back he certainly does not deserve them IMHO

Didn't watch the video - the very thought of this happening makes me feel sick.

mamadiva · 11/03/2009 13:23

It's a shame that we do have to worry about who's marrying who but sadly nowadays this seems to be quite a common thing with marriages from different countries.

Is there nothing that can be done by the British government?

newcareer4me · 11/03/2009 13:24

I cant finish watching that. How can he do that to his children.

I don't care if she had an affair with every Tom, Dick and Harry in Dubai, her children do not deserve that!!!

wannaBe · 11/03/2009 13:24

I hate to say this but this is all too common when women marry people from other countries, especially countries where women essentially have no rights.

Not sure what it is our government can do though? Even if they can get her out of jail our government can't be expected to intervene in a custody battle in another country.

themoon66 · 11/03/2009 13:26

How can a loving father still insist on taking those children, when he can see how distressed they are? How? Why would any parent do that to their children? I have no understanding of this. The fact he is doing it must mean he cannot love them surely?

mamadiva · 11/03/2009 13:26

Thing is though she gave himm custody in the hope that he would drop his lies and let her see the kids but he used it to his advantage

I hate to have to agree with you wannaBe but I would be very wary if I had a daughter and she had children with someone from a country that have these type of laws. I hate saying that because it is racist and I am not a racist but I have heard of too many heartbreaking stories like these.

Portofino · 11/03/2009 13:33

I don't think it is racist to be wary of marrying someone and/or more importantly living in a country where you are not equally protected in the eyes of the law.

wannaBe · 11/03/2009 13:38

I watched a series of programmes about this once. It was about women whose husbands had abducted their children and taken them back to their own countries, Turkey, Iran, Jordan etc, and once the children were there there was very little the mothers could do to get them back. In the case in turkey the courts did award her custody, but by the time it happened and she went to collect them he and his family had turned them against her so much that they refused to go with her and she ended up having to leave them behind and resigning herself to never seeing them again.

There was also a woman on this programme who runs an organization who will go and snatch back children from countries where the mothers have no rights. Obviously it's not legal, but once the children are back in the UK it's much easier for the mother to retain custody and take out restraining orders etc against the father, especially as the children have generally been removed illegally in the first place.

ThePellyandMe · 11/03/2009 13:47

Bloody hell, that was awful

That really upset me, those poor children. Really heartbreaking stuff.

And so wrong

MarmadukeScarlet · 11/03/2009 13:50

When that little boy was pleading with the father .

I cannot imagine the trauma that they are going through. Poor woman and DC.

Is the thing nightmares are made of.

Could only watch a few seconds of it. You can only imagine her pain as a mother.

Marthasmama · 11/03/2009 13:59

Horrible to watch. Poor woman and poor children. Being torn from their mother will scar them for the rest of their lives. So so sad.

The OP asked what could be done.

There is a website about it, with an appeal to raise funds for a decent lawyer.
