This was just on CH4 news I couldn't find ay other threads so thought I'd start this one.

BBC website

3 deaths have been confirmed 2 children and one adult. The creche was from babies to 4YO.

What kind of monster could do this? I'm sure we will find out more over the next few days but it mustv'e been so scary for those poor children and the workers as well as any familillies involved.

My heart and thoughts are with them ...

Horific, those poor children and families.

Oh my God, this is horrific

Apparently he's a local man, 20 years old, wasn't under the influence of alcohol or drugs, hadn't escaped from a mental hospital (or had any history of mental illness), had no previous criminal record and had no connection to the nursery, the staff or any of the parents or children.

OMG how awful.
How did they let him in if his face was painted like the Joker?

belgo · 24/01/2009 16:12

Crushwitheyeliner - they probably didn't let him in. He may have just walked in. Creches in Belgium do not have the same sort of security as creches in England. I know a few creches where you can just walk straight in from the street into the children's area with no one checking you. Up until now the belgian mentality is not to worry about things that so rarely happen.

I suspect that will change now.

CrushWithEyeliner · 24/01/2009 19:37

No way - really?
Makes things even more awful

I felt physically sick reading about this.

Words fail me really.

I was always concerned about security at DD's nursery, ans always worry about someone like this getting into the school - the sad fact is that these days your children probably are never really safe. Unless you're there to look out for them and even then, that's pushing it...

My thoughts go to the poor parents and families - I can't imagine their pain.
