This was just on CH4 news I couldn't find ay other threads so thought I'd start this one.

BBC website

3 deaths have been confirmed 2 children and one adult. The creche was from babies to 4YO.

What kind of monster could do this? I'm sure we will find out more over the next few days but it mustv'e been so scary for those poor children and the workers as well as any familillies involved.

My heart and thoughts are with them ...

it is nightmarish.

AmIOdetteOrOdileOrABagpipe · 23/01/2009 13:30

Ruby - i thought of Dunblane too. It really is too sad for words.....

Almeida · 23/01/2009 14:11

Really awful - thoughts with the parents & children also the nursery workers and their families.

belgo · 23/01/2009 14:14

Another child has died. Three children dead and one adult.

Almeida · 23/01/2009 14:18

So terrible - these poor children.

AmIOdetteOrOdileOrABagpipe · 23/01/2009 15:12

When I hear of things like this, a large part of me hopes the victims were known to the murderer - you know as in a jilted husband or something like that. It would at least go some way to explaining the madness......
Does that make me sound really horrid?

worley · 23/01/2009 15:22

i dont think anything can explain the madness of some people.
our nursery is swipe card access only, but still wouldnt stop nuttes i dont think..

I have just read this story on the BBC. Am in tears. So terrible .

PlainOldPeachy · 23/01/2009 16:19

Poor. poor famillies, and my other thoughts are much like Nimchimskys

God bless, little ones.

mynewnickname · 23/01/2009 17:02

. How could anyone do this?

Watoose · 23/01/2009 17:05

How come they are not letting the parents go and comfort their children at the hospital? Surely the little ones need to see their parents quickly to avoid any more trauma??

I might be misunderstanding, can anyone explain?

CrushWithEyeliner · 23/01/2009 17:08

Good God. What a horrific story. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all affected.

What kind of Monster...?

Watoose · 23/01/2009 17:11

It says in the Telegraph that he was an inmate of a nearby mental institution, but I don't know how accurate that is.

Maria2007 · 23/01/2009 18:01

Awful awful, it's making me cry... Obviously he's a very ill / crazy man. How can someone, however ill, do this to babies is beyond me. My heart goes out to the parents & the children (and the creche workers).

AmIOdetteOrOdileOrABagpipe · 23/01/2009 18:30

Apparently he went straight to the baby room....
Am in tears clinging my baby to my chest.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 23/01/2009 18:32

Some things are just too shocking to comprehend. CAn't imagine being asked to identify the children like that - the worst imaginable situation. lIke Dunblane, going to collect your child without knowing if they will there or not

How awful

Makes you just want to hold your children even closer doesn't it?

My deepest thoughts are with those poor, poor families.

I picked up DS from nursery and just felt so happy to see him.

It really does remind me of Dunblane, we lived nearby and I was in primary 4 at the time all the parents queued up waiting for their child to be passed safely into their arms, my mum hugged me so tight I almost bloody suffocated now I know why

Feel so sad thinking about theose famillies who have lost a child and mother/daughter/sister/auntie in that brave, brave worker

Am filling up again here but what an awful thing it just makes no sense someone being so cruelly taken away from them.

How can anyone stab sleeping babies, what a horrid thing. Must have been torture for the poor parents rushing there to see if their baby was safe or not.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 23/01/2009 20:54

this was on my yahoo homepage on the headlines, I read it and am so gutted. How awful, my heart goes out to the families of those who have lost children as well as the other parents who must have been in agnoy not knowing if their child was injured or worse.

So, so sad

scorpio1 · 23/01/2009 20:58

oh my goodness. Those poor children.

Portofino · 23/01/2009 21:05

It is truly awful! There wasn't much on the Belgian news website. Well enough detail - 4 dead and 11 seriously injured I think. I didn't hear til after i'd collected dd from school. It made my blood run cold. Apparently the guy had painted his face black and white and then run amok with a knife! They have arrested him.

Bearing in mind that a Belgium nursery would only have kids younger than 3, these are very little children we are talking about!

The poor, poor parents!
