Pan pretty much says it.

Why would anyone want their daughters to have such to do with those?

ScottishMummy · 11/01/2009 01:06

quelle surprise!harry is simply carrying on the family tradition of racism as did granny, granddad etc

Remotew · 11/01/2009 01:07

Well we all know that they were the better tirants in history. Saying that if my DD brought Prince Harry home I woudn't be dissapointed.

expatinscotland · 11/01/2009 01:14

'Saying that if my DD brought Prince Harry home I woudn't be dissapointed.'

I would be seething, utterly beside myself that I'd raised any daughter of mine to be such a fool of a girl.

But he'd never know it.

Only if he disavowed any of that Prince rubbish and went by Mr. Hanover would I be appeased.

A man can't help whom he's born to, that's for sure. But he can help what he does about it.

But worse than he, for again a man can't help whom he's born to, would be my fool of a daughter.

That would be the point of utter disappointment for me. I'd feel I failed in some way.

ScottishMummy · 11/01/2009 01:16

better tyrants?what a league of despots.oi c'mom you saxe coburgs.oh i love dem royals not

expatinscotland · 11/01/2009 01:18

'lord' this and 'duke' that and nonsuch.
L-O-S-E-R.

any girl of mine brings such home and he starts that up he can soon go the way he came and worse.

her mamma is a republican, a second-generation taken as a child to the graves of Revolutionary soldiers who lost their lives to get rid of such foolery.

Remotew · 11/01/2009 01:24

Worse for you scottish lot but I'm English so not so bad.

expatinscotland · 11/01/2009 01:27

I'm no Scot myself.

But my children are and worse than that half-American.

Titles, my ass!

Give that up or don't darken my door, however humble it is. Cut us, we all bleed red.

Pan · 11/01/2009 01:29

I would like to believe that my dd would have the good taste and breeding to consider any nasty little oik anywhere near her.....but hey.

expatinscotland · 11/01/2009 01:35

He's probably hung like a horse.

That's even worse where some women are concerned.

They are willing to fool themselves out for such men.

I would know.

expatinscotland · 11/01/2009 01:39

But I'm here to slap sense into such a girl.

I can sort of see such foolishness as would fall prey to these sorts of men in DD1, especially as she is as comely as she is dozy, and that sounds mean but it is truth and there is no help for it.

That is why I will fight to keep her here, to bring her up here, where hopefully some Highland sense can be knocked into her, though she is thrawn as any cuddy, as she grows.

chipmonkey · 11/01/2009 02:29

Expat!

WinkyWinkola · 11/01/2009 04:12

Another pillock like that Tory Boy cretin who dressed up at MM.

foxytocin · 11/01/2009 05:03

dysfunctional like the rest of us them.

2sugarsandapuppy · 11/01/2009 07:09

I wonder why the media haven't bullied tracked down his colleague and asked his opinion.

HelenBurns · 11/01/2009 07:22

He's just a thick kid isn't he.

I agree with Saltire it's just army language, but that doesn't mean it's how he should be talking publicly.

He has a duty to lead and show an example. I can imagine William also uses silly jokes and stuff in private but he's got the sense to keep it private and when he's in the public eye he talks very responsibly.

That's the only real difference, I think Harry's just being an obnoxious young bloke, there are a lot of them around. He didn't ask to be famous either.

bloss an elected head of state is surely due some respect? and as for trappings of monarchy, i have yet to see george bush in a whacking great hat made out of diamonds and crushed raspberry velvet at any occasion where americans were expected to take the hat seriously.

foxytocin · 11/01/2009 08:36

aww but the trappings come in the form of thing like Air Force 1 doesn't it rather than a glittery crown.

The American Press show far more reverence for their President that the British do their PM.

foxytocin · 11/01/2009 08:38

you could just see how the Bushes were trying to be hereditary though. GB Sr. Then GB Jr. whose presidency was basically stolen. They were eyeing up the Gov of Florida to be a future pres too, no doubt. Wait. that chapter will be written. Just a hitch in the plans with the debacle that was GB Jr.

SaltireOShanter · 11/01/2009 08:47

2sugars - the media haven't tracked him down because
A) it was him who gave the tape to teh media
OR
B) it wouldn't be good for their story if he said "oh yes the whole battalion calls me it, I chose the nickname myself"
