I agree that no one can have it all but we are all prepared to sacrifice different things to keep thse that are our priorities.

Tidying the cupboards would not be a reason to give up work in my world. Being constantly unhappy would be though.

When you are stressed and overtired little things can push you over the edge. I doubt very much though that she gave up her job over her cupboards!

I agree with Dumbledore'sgirl.

The thread title and many of the posts just seem to me to be plain jealousy.

ahfeckit · 03/01/2009 20:42

oh jealousy, oh jealousy! lol. yep there's plenty of that on MN . it's sad that no mother is allowed these days to just say 'grrr this is so bloody stressful!!). why shouldn't fiona express her anxiety over trying to handle it all. I know i do sometimes, i get so stressed out every little while or so, and then just get on with things as normal. we have all done it, let's face it.

I don't like GMTV and don't particularly like Fiona Philips but once I read an interview with her and she admitted she was 'just lucky and that anyone could do her job, it isn't rocket science,' which I thought was quite honest of her.

Also I think her father had early onset Alzheimer's and possibly her mother too, so part of the leaving GMTV is in case she gets it too, and wants to spend time with her family.

Don't know why I am sticking up for her really, as find her intensely irritating and talentless, but there you go

She still has it an awful lot easier than some mums imo.

I knew a girl in the hospital where i worked who did night duty then looked after her 2 dc during the day and only got a quick 1.5/2 hr nap when they slept.

Her mum was housebound and her dad had dementia and she helped look after them, did their shopping etc.

She was stretched soooo fucking thin,i don't honestly know how she did it She also had no money to speak of.

Fiona Phillips has loads of money to ensure her dad is well taken care of,her dc will have some kinda anny or whatever and she does not have to worry about paying the bills.

I am not saying she has the best life but it's a helluva lot better than my workmate anyway!!!

You will always find someone who has it harder than you.

When In find things hard I often say to myself six years ago you were living in a hostel not knowing where you would end up so how dare I moan that things are hard if a bill goes unpaid or my work becomes too much.

But we all have to deal with what life hands us at that moment and we all have the right to find it hard.

As women we should be supporting each other, whatever the bank balance we all face at heart similar issues.

When i heard Moany Fiona complaining about her gas bill it used to make me laugh it really did. If it was a legitimate moan then fine but FFS the gas bill???

Not spending enough time with her DH/DC and not liking it i can understand but all the rest of the shite....
