MN and Moldie spat apparently merits billing between Gazan civilians being killed by the hundred by Israeli missiles, and world hunger

Another disproportionate response?

I said it earlier and I will say it again

Its really sad that given all the serious issues and problems that get discussed all over mn that its this that makes front page news

There are sooo many issues discussed on here that a lotof people dont realise go on in this world until it happens to them or someone they love.

Why not pick up one of those threads and run story/feature

NotBigJustBolshy · 28/12/2008 22:07

Agree, frasersmummy. Also, given that this site was started by journalists and is run by journalists, it is a constant source of surprise to me that the users do not realise that anything posted on this site can be harvested for use in articles. No one is really anonymous on the internet and people here should be more careful what they post.

ScottishMummy · 28/12/2008 22:11

journos seek gossipy stories not heartfelt genuine support.but anything posted on MN is accessible and reproducible

thumbElf · 28/12/2008 22:13

not embarrassed personally nor for MN, but those 2 journos should go back to playgroup college and learn how to a) read, b) copy and paste and c) write properly.

There is a reasonable chance this thread will get deleted, btw.

SparklyBaubleFeast · 28/12/2008 22:16

why can't someone do a link

JoolsToo · 28/12/2008 22:18

I'm not embarrassed, I didn't hurl accusations left and right, I didn't use foul language, I didn't get personal I didn't make things up as I went along.

Can't speak for the ones who did tho'

SBF just google, independent on sunday & mumsnet, third article in I think. I don't want battered with the banstick

NorktasticNinja · 28/12/2008 22:23

'tis absolutely ridiculous.

Independent
Mail on Sunday
New Zealand Herald

NotBigJustBolshy · 28/12/2008 22:24

Any mention of MN in a newspaper counts as publicity for MN. No such thing as bad publicity...

Aitch · 28/12/2008 22:26

agree with wrapstar, it's an 'and finally...', that's all.

and yes, i am embarrassed. i hope it helps give everyone a sharp sense of perspctive.

so a bunch of women on a big forum started using a wee forum. yes, there are some big question marks over the vetoing etc but in essence if you're saying it's not interesting in a newspaper then HOW is it interesting here?

it's not. and it's a bit tragic imo, that it's gone on so long. the Indy is laughing at us all...

theinsider · 28/12/2008 22:27

I'm not very embarrassed. I posted on those threads (under my christmas name) with reason, clarity and was generally oil on very troubled waters.

I've never been so closely connected with the frontpage of a national before and tbh find it quite fun. A pretty bad article, poor journalism, can't see what anyone outside MN would make of it, a one-day-wonder but overall quite fun.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/12/2008 22:28

Agree aitch.

theinsider · 28/12/2008 22:29

erm, it's intersting here because we have chosen to be part of the community it has affected.

It's not interesting to the other approx 60 million people in the UK (let alone the rst of the world) because they have not chosen to be part of this community.

Aitch · 28/12/2008 22:30

no, insider, it was interesting for a day. it's not now. it's cringeworthy in the extreme.

MrsMerryHenry · 28/12/2008 22:31

I've penned an email to the Indie's news editor saying they look like a bunch of wazzocks for writing about this 'story'.

theinsider · 28/12/2008 22:31

Sure, your view.

Everybody has their own

Aitch · 28/12/2008 22:32

i'll tell you what a lot of people have. Axes To Grind.

SparklyBaubleFeast · 28/12/2008 22:38

couldnt be bovered at the time, yawn, glad to have the IOS pov for a change... rather like a precis of the whole matter.

MrsMerryHenry · 28/12/2008 22:38

Lockets - I agree! Still think the Indie look like pillocks, though!

Aitch · 28/12/2008 22:38

i believe that's the message they're trying to get across, lockets.

thanks, insider, she's doing okay. okaaay.
