MN and Moldie spat apparently merits billing between Gazan civilians being killed by the hundred by Israeli missiles, and world hunger

Another disproportionate response?

I thought Moldies must be something from Dr Who that I didn't know about because I don't watch it. So, until today, the MN spat went totally over my head.

thanks mrsMH - wasn't 100% sure!
just goes to show though that you really MUSTN'T believe what is written in papers - I read something in early November in the Express that almonds were the latest fad food to help fight against cholesterol, heart disease and cancer.
I went looking for scientific back up for this "factoid" and discovered that it was a mish-mash of lies and half-truths - there was a nice piece about it here on nhs.uk News page.

In the end, does anyone really expect the majority of journalists (not saying all) to be completely factual? Isn't that like expecting all politicians to be fine, honest upstanding members of the community?

theinsider · 29/12/2008 22:54

Thumbwitch I think not necessarily "expect" the above, just "hope" so.

Similar to "hoping" doctors and nurses would be aware of their facts, ethical and trying to do that which was best. Why should you "expect" it, but you wouldn't half hope for that kind of professionalism.

thumbwitch · 29/12/2008 23:01

I expect you're right, theinsider.
Although in general I would expect doctors to have some clue as to what they are doing.

I still can never get the Spitting Image puppets of journos as pigs and wolverines out of my mind...
