Sophable, I have spun that theory about it all being a publicity set-up earlier in the thread but it doesn't change anything whether it is true or not. Unless the BBC controllers were in on it (?), the broadcast should still have been stopped due to its offensive nature.

Well Sachs has didn't ring the police and knew who was leaving the call, knew they were presenters, realises they way overstepped the mark, accepts that, doesn't want to call the police and as far as I can see is happy just to leave the whole mess alone. It was a pre recorded show, RB adn JR didn't say these things live on radio. Of course it doesn't make it better they never should have called AS in the first place, it was a terrible thing to do and I can't believe thet thought it was a good idea, but if this hadn't have been aired an apology could have been made by the bbc, JR adn RB to AS in private.
