Fraid so pooka. Whoever came up with that has clearly never spent quality time in Sidcup High St.
But I do love the fantastic open spaces across outer SE London (was also brought up here like you)

MerryMarigold · 02/05/2008 21:38

HURRAH for City and the East. (Not really a surprise, but I'm still glad I live here and can look people in the eye as I walk down the street)

Why don't you all come and live in deep-blue Surrey with me. I voted Labour last night while on some mad nostalgia trip. My ballot paper probably finished off at least two of the elderly, blazered tellers.

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:38

London results

foxinsocks · 02/05/2008 21:38

so Ken wins 1 tpref

NE, City and East, Brent and Harrow

Boris 1st pref in

bexley and Bromley
havering and redbridge

MerryMarigold · 02/05/2008 21:39

though that's a lot of George Galloway and BNP votes on closer inspection

policywonk · 02/05/2008 21:39

Can I ask a shamefully basic question: is the mayoral vote going by constituency, or just plain old London-wide, vote-by-vote?

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:40

Perhaps Boris will bring back Middlesex?

pooka · 02/05/2008 21:40

Nope. Clean and green. Sounds a bit like betty ford's clean and serene.

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:40

We had to vote for the Mayor on one ballot paper and on another for the Assembly Members.

nkf · 02/05/2008 21:40

What is the appeal to anyone of George Galloway? Can someone explain? I know I live a rarefied life but in what world does a person think that man is suitable to be in power?

EffiePerine · 02/05/2008 21:41

I see North East a Labour hold. Sigh. And I was votes for the only candidate who lost votes on last time (this is about par for the course). She did have mad hair

EffiePerine · 02/05/2008 21:41

was votes? voted

nkf · 02/05/2008 21:41

Boris will probably bring back Ruritania.

EffiePerine · 02/05/2008 21:42

nkf: the Galloway Love Bus passed our office the other day - glaring music, chap with megaphone - thunderstorm started and we were going misty eyed with the thought of a well-timed bolt of lightning

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:42
Grin
DefinitelyNotMARINAWheeler · 02/05/2008 21:42

no policy, we voted for the Mayor direct, plus also named London Assembly representative for our patch (am still reeling at news that the National Front came fourth in B & B ), plus generic party vote for the PR element of the London Assembly

foxinsocks · 02/05/2008 21:42

it's vote by vote but they are reporting the results by constituency I think

they had the total votes up (boris was ahead) but they took them off pretty quickly

one of the Ken problems is that the Tory strongholds normally have a greater turnout than the labour ones

bluewolf · 02/05/2008 21:42

Love the sarcky 'Bromley clean and green' -Does anyone know the catchphrase/motto for lambeth where I currently reside. Maybe Boris will rewrite them all in his lovely latin once he is settled in the throne

staranise · 02/05/2008 21:43

But if BJ has 1st pref in 8 constituencies and KL has six, and there's still a fifth of the vote to come in, doens't taht mean it's still pretty close?

clutches at straws in lieu of being able to have a large G&T

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:43

Lambeth - Cor, what a shit hole?

Or Brent - Guns and Posers?

DefinitelyNotMARINAWheeler · 02/05/2008 21:44

I'd hazard a guess that if he does rewrite your motto it may translate loosely as "Into the dust, proletarian rabble"

foxinsocks · 02/05/2008 21:45

at the moment, Boris has 45%, ken has 41%

pooka · 02/05/2008 21:46

Oh my god! The NF got more than 5% of votes in B&B. That is APPALLING.

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:46

Where are the Mayoral results coming from?
