As I said earlier, if people can vote for Boris, they can vote for Cameron. That's what is truly depressing about this.

policywonk · 02/05/2008 21:05

Ah, Marcus would've cheered me up a tad, but DP is watching South Park.

Are election nights on MN always this much fun? I'm having quite a nice time, despite the whirling pit of despair opening up beneath me.

mrsruffallo · 02/05/2008 21:05

I can't believe anyone actually voted for that buffoon

nkf · 02/05/2008 21:06

What were they thinking of? I suppose they hate Ken and the congestion charge and the Labour govenment.

talilac · 02/05/2008 21:06

ditto Policy..

mourningpaper · 02/05/2008 21:06

Yes we must meet here in November

talilac · 02/05/2008 21:07

Oh its all the Ken sleaze I think thats put people off - plus the Evening Standard ran a really good campaign for Boris.

policywonk · 02/05/2008 21:08

Perhaps BJ will instantly become enmeshed in a notorious scandal involving money, elephant guns, farm animals and half the Shadow Cabinet

Heathcliffscathy · 02/05/2008 21:08

spit

staranise · 02/05/2008 21:08

Agree, it's a 1992 rerun, except worse because Brown and KL have thrown it away

Heathcliffscathy · 02/05/2008 21:08

at evening standard obv

mrsruffallo · 02/05/2008 21:08

I can understand people being sick of Ken but how could we possibly have BJ representing London on the international stage. It's all rather

mourningpaper · 02/05/2008 21:08

the Evening Standard is the tool of the devil

Brian Blessed v. funny

Heathcliffscathy · 02/05/2008 21:09

mrsruffallo · 02/05/2008 21:09

ES-That bloody tory rag

policywonk · 02/05/2008 21:09
Heathcliffscathy · 02/05/2008 21:10

i wouldn't mind if it was just tory, but it is pile of auld pants too

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:10

Riz Lateef (BBC London journo) described the ES's campaign as "pro-Boris" earlier on. Am seriously thinking of complaining to the BBC. Talk about misrepresentation.

Heathcliffscathy · 02/05/2008 21:10
Grin
mrsruffallo · 02/05/2008 21:10

They have already printed BORIS IS MAYOR front page for tomorrow.
Is there a tiny chance they could be wrong?

policywonk · 02/05/2008 21:10

Apparently the ES is about to go under. So that's something to look forward to.

nkf · 02/05/2008 21:10

The Evening Standard is pitiful. It's just a joke of a newspaper. And when you think what a London paper could be. And all we get is that dreary stuff.

Does anyone remember the London Daily News?

Heathcliffscathy · 02/05/2008 21:11

wouldn't that be wonderful mrs r

staranise · 02/05/2008 21:11

according to the guardian yesterday, editor of the ES made Cameron pick BJ for mayoral candidate because she's bestie mates with him (and Andrew Gillighan - sp?)

beansprout · 02/05/2008 21:11

Really? ES is going to fold?! There is a god!!!
