Oh no, that's so sad. Poor Humph. Saw him twice, once at a recording of ISIHAC (hysterical) and playing jazz. He was fantastic.

EachPeachPearMum · 25/04/2008 23:24

He will be greatly missed, especially in this household.

KashaSarrasin · 25/04/2008 23:24

RIP Humph

I had the honour of meeting him once, long long ago, when he stayed in the hotel I was working at.

hobnob · 25/04/2008 23:25

Lovely, lovely, Humph. The best.

WanderingTrolley · 25/04/2008 23:27

Top quote from Humph on his website

Donk · 25/04/2008 23:28

A toast to Humph - who has given me more Radio pleasure than should be legal!

WendyWeber · 25/04/2008 23:36

Thanks for the website link, WT - have just spent ages there and found this interview from the Indie last year

"a soft drink is a small scotch, not a large one"

Bendi · 25/04/2008 23:41

The filthest man on radio - NNGB. Years of pleasure and dirty chuckles. x

ladywombling · 25/04/2008 23:42

He was divine, how awful. I was hopig that he would make it. Genius timing, and a forever youthful soul.

MrsJohnCusack · 25/04/2008 23:45

I am so sad about this, such a fab man. AND he died on my birthday

Bendi · 26/04/2008 00:10

Happy Birthday anyway.

choosyfloosy · 26/04/2008 00:14

Great memories, many many laughs right til the end - any of us would be lucky to say the same. hope he didn't suffer too much

UnderRated · 26/04/2008 02:23

He was wonderful. And will always make me smile.

TheRedWorm · 26/04/2008 05:33

I liked the quote, WT. 'An iron grip on the capacity for silliness'. That could really be the motto of half of Mumsnet.
