my dd was bruised to buggery with forceps aswell, but it was a failed attempt - had loads in the room too

expatinscotland · 23/04/2008 13:48

I was in theatre, too. As she, the consultant, warned me that she'd need to do a CS if the forceps didn't work first go.

Like you, I had a back to back baby with her hand up by her head. After 24 hours, I, too, was utterly shattered.

This is really tragic but it's not the norm. It's in the news because it is so rare.

WaynettaSlob · 23/04/2008 13:50

sounds similar to me Expat - midwife told me that they were allowing me two more pushes and if it didn't come out then is was a CS (had been without sleep for 48 hours at this point, and in labour for about 26, same a s you)
Hey ho - and we both have the joys to look forward to again!!!

I am cring about this.

I know the family, went to school with them and had children at the same hospital and at the same time in the same ward 23 ears ago.

The poor sod just doiesn't deserve this.

I don't want to upset anyone,so please DON'T click the link if you don't want to read about crushing a baby's skull as a means of late abortion. I thought it was relevant to mention that - whilst this case is tragic and sickening, it's something that is - or at least was until recently - performed as a surgical procedure, which personally I found shocking.

It's only a report - there are no photos

By the way - I'm not saying that I'm anti abortion. I could never have had one myself and I believe the current 24 week limit should be lowered, but I'd be the last person to condemn anyone else for making their own mind up on the issue. Women had to fight for years to have this control over their own bodies.

i couldnt read article but very sad.and very sad the lots of people may now be scared off of forceps.i ended up having 3 csections but before 1st they tried helping dd out with forceps and vontous.2nd baby although planned csection needed forceps and he had little bruises that looked like sideburns.

this thread is really upsetting me. i can't even read the article.

cutekids · 24/04/2008 13:29

wonder why this headline's just come to light? by what i'm reading, i take it this happened in 2002? (not that that makes it any less horrific.)

fortyplus · 24/04/2008 16:18

Maybe the case has only recently come to court?

CrushWithEyeliner · 24/04/2008 17:30
