They have arrested her on perverting the course of justice - which i think means lying to the police under oath doesnt it?

Is it at all possible that they knew where she was all the time?

Perhaps cahnnel 4 should now re-show the documentary on shannons family and see how it is received knowing what we know.

Well presumably the other children will go into care as the mother and step father are on remand. I don't know who else lived there.

Divastrop · 09/04/2008 16:26

'one the whole, the very fact that you use mumsnet means that you are totally out of the socio/demographic sphere of women like KM."

really?oh i am pleased.so being an MNer makes me middle class by association, desite my 5 children by 3 different men, being on beefits and living in HA accomodation?

saying that,dh does keep calling me snobby...

LessThanImpressed · 09/04/2008 16:27

What a total mess this is, all those poor kids now in care. Hopefully it will improve their lives in some ways I suppose

Peapodlovescuddles · 09/04/2008 16:29

hmm, people are calling KM working class, now I don't know if she does/has ever worked but I assume she doesn't as we have heard nothing about her job, she has a 2 year old, so nnot in school but I think she is actually a member of the underclass, I'm led to believe that:
Underclass = questionable morals, lazy, benefits are classed as a lifestyle choice, criminal activites indulged in and asbos are seen as a badge of honour. Stereotyped as being inbred due to relatively small 'stomping ground'

Working class = people who actually work but in jobs that don't pay brilliantly and maybe don't require a particularly high level of education.

Middle class = often university educated, doctors, dentists, lawyers, accountants, teachers etc you get the idea. we are 'nice' people.

upper class/aristocracy = own half of hampshire and grandfather is Lord something. stereotyped as being inbred due to relatively few fellow aristcrats suitable for breeding.

(disclaimer - this is partially tongue in cheek )

I do keep thinking about Shannon's siblings - they've had a really odd month to say the least - sister vanished, everyone upset, police all over the place and media types right, left and centre - and now - both their resident caregivers have been taken away and they are 'in care'. I don't suppose they're altogether either

misdee · 09/04/2008 16:33

i keep thinking of shannons siblings and her as well, they must be so confused over all of this. poor kids

CrushWithEyeliner · 09/04/2008 16:42

i wonder who she might be....

NorthernLurker · 09/04/2008 16:42

Fio - even the bathroom??

jesuswhatnext · 09/04/2008 16:43

i'm truly not being a cow, just look at the top of this page though, do you honestly think that women in KM socio/economic range can really afford the white company, boden, luxury family hotels, etc?.

no, they go to primark, read 'take a break' and holiday at butlins/all inclusive benidorm.

you are being naive to think otherwise, trillions of £pounds are spent getting 'placements' right. it is bloody useless to advertise to people who cannot afford your product.

i KNOW that you cannot always generalise, what i do hate is inverted snobbery. being poor does not make you mad, bad and dangerous to know.

even if this family had a great deal of money

i buy boden when its the sale only. i have been to the ickworth but that was a gift from mumsnet and luxuryfamilyhotels, there is no way we can afford to go there again, even though it was very very nice.

i shop at primark, i read take a break, and i holiday at butlins/havens most years.

figroll · 09/04/2008 16:49

Can anyone afford the White Company and Boden?
