The news about that poor woman who they said got her boot stuck in the cattle grid at a level crossing is getting really murky. Her boyfriend has been charged with manslaughter - and police no longer believe she got stuck, apparently.

Horrible.

Me too, Heated.

LaComtesse · 05/04/2008 22:21

I assumed that the chicken comment was aimed at namechanged, not the poor girl killed. In the context of the thread .

I'm sure it will all come out or not at some point.

WendyWeber · 05/04/2008 22:23

Yes, of course it was, LaC - I was being v v dim

lucyellensmum · 05/04/2008 22:23

havenamechanged, you have to work with people like this?? And then you go onto a public forum and make those sort of comments - you are in the wrong job. The dead cannot defend themselves - bad taste in the extreme.

SlartyBartFast · 05/04/2008 22:24

lol
initially i thought she meant they were playing chicken on the railway line...
then the penny dropped

southeastastra · 05/04/2008 22:27

maybe she just wants to talk about it, seems natural to namechange to me.

Heated · 05/04/2008 22:32

Well, we are all emoting over ppl we don't know, we only imagine, and someone who does know them has a very different vp. Is their vp, although uncomfortable, not valid?

soapbox · 05/04/2008 22:34

I think you are giving the name changer a very hard time. I don't think there is anything objectionable in what she said!

I find it funny on MN that the pitchforks can come out quite happily one moment when criminal activity is mentioned - yet as soon as someone is dead, everyone comes over all solicitous!

FWIW namechanger - I think it is very interesting that there are other angles to this story! I also think that posting anonymously on a site like this is a good way to talk about things that you wouldn;t normally be able to say in RL.

DrNortherner · 05/04/2008 22:35

If someone was scum when alive then you can still call them scum when dead imo.

Not saying this is the case btw - know nothing about this case. Just annoys me when MN gets all sanctmonious.

Hulababy · 05/04/2008 22:41

Just wanted to clarify - I work in a prison; name change isn't me.

havenamechangedforthis · 05/04/2008 22:42

lucyellensmum - if you look on any police forum you'll see far worse that anything I've said.

I namechanged as I don't want to identify myself, people know me from here in rl and I use mn a lot and given all the hoohaa recently about people being identified from their posts I thought it would be sensible to change my name.

It is different when you work with criminals all day long and see the effects that their actions have on victims. I'm hardly going to elaborate on info that won't be in the public domain til after a court case on a forum am I?

I will ask MMHQ to delete my posts though as like many people have said the woman was someone's daughter and someones mother.

jofeb04 · 05/04/2008 22:51

Hulababy, what do you do in the prison. I'm hoping to working within the prison once my degree is finished, but not too sure in what area iykwim.

WendyWeber · 05/04/2008 22:53

It was Colchester, Hula - you'd have to do some serious commuting for that!

havenamechangedfor this - I suggest that you keep your posts to your 'police forum' .

Police officers have their thoughts about the people that they deal with but not on a parenting forum .

I do hope your messages are deleted .

havenamechangedforthis · 05/04/2008 23:01

Have asked MNHQ to delete my posts so they should be gone shortly.
Off to bed as who knows what awaits me tomorrow morning in the cells

Why can't the police call people scumbags?! I reckon they are more than entitled to.

southeastastra · 05/04/2008 23:08

why are you all questioning her posts? weird policing going on here

CaptainUnderpants · 05/04/2008 23:09

I dont like it - you're right and I have the right to say that dont I ?

My thoughts about her comments or aren't we allowed to do that any more ?

Heated · 05/04/2008 23:10

Actually CU, IHNCFT just brings home to me how glad I am that I am not in the police force and how grateful I am that there are ppl who are. I would not want to deal with the victims, bystanders, relatives in this awful case

She has already asked for her comments to be deleted, so why heap more coals?
