hi twig, i'm semi-inclined to agree with you tbh but i know from personal experience that what happens is that you go to your ed and say 'we should do a piece about mn' and they go 'yes, and we can do a sidebar with mini-interviews with some of the posters and then if we need to cut the copy cos an ad comes in we can just bring them down to profiles' and you say 'oh no, not really, it's not like that, that would be a bit naff, can't i just do a normal piece about how they've got these books coming out' and then they editor says 'fine, that's great then, i'll expect you to file 1500 words on weds with a sidebar of 500, THANKYOU!'

and then the door closes and you're on the other side of it with a deadline.

so, it's just one of them ones, really. i think it's a really positive piece of publicity tbh, and puts GF's gas in a peep.

It really is a lovely, lovely article about mn. Very funny and revealing and caught just the right flavour of mn at its best.
