Mumsnet in the Times

Here's a nice article about Mumsnet - make way for the newbies.

And blimey don't Justine and Carrie have a lot of children?

Oh my synopsis would be: tries to post something clever and profound when drunk and is largely, and wisely, ignored

boudoiricca · 15/03/2008 10:20

No - and I'm sure she'll claim it wasn't her intention, but these things are open to interpretation, and that's how it comes across...

Boco · 15/03/2008 10:20

Is Cod a hardcore feminist?

I don't know, the thing that has actually kept me interested in mn are the fiercely clever and hilarious and biting posters - it just gives a bit of a flavour of the types of personalities, I think that's quite a nice thing. Of course there are dozens more.

Teuch I like "binge-poster" I most definitely am too!

I'm kinda with Twig too though I don't think it is the fault of the posters in question.

morningpaper · 15/03/2008 10:23

I'm sure Cod is too groomed to be a hardcore feminist

you mustn't forget that CM is very fond of MN so was probably trying to give a glimpes of how she perceives the boards

we all see them very differently don't we?

BumperliciousIsStillNotDressed · 15/03/2008 10:29

Didn't she just research the article by coming on here and telling us she was writing an article what interesting things could she put in it?

I think I'm in the wrong job, I want to get paid for surfing mnet!

dragonbutter · 15/03/2008 10:30

I agree with Twiglett. It was a good article but the discussing of any posters was unnecessary. I'd be a bit fucked off it they said,
Dragonbutter, she's bored and skint and has bad skin and a big pram.

Lovely article about mn, though I always feel like hunting informers down and beating them about the head with a soggy sausage roll to the chant of "you don't talk about mumsnet. YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT MUMSNET!"

S1ur · 15/03/2008 10:35

Oh and pmsl at synopsis of 'regs'

dear oh dear.

morningpaper · 15/03/2008 10:36

It's cooking sherry, MP, for cooking! I'm cooking!

morningpaper · 15/03/2008 10:36

a mumsnet code of omerta

OP posts:
Freckle · 15/03/2008 10:37

Well, I think the flavour of the board is more succinctly described by the juxtaposition yesterday of David Cameron talking to us right next to a thread entitled Steak and BJ Night .

morningpaper · 15/03/2008 10:37

Freckle that's true

slayerette · 15/03/2008 10:37

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 15/03/2008 10:38

S1ur · 15/03/2008 10:39

I've just seen you are responsible for setting the tone around here

I may have to follow you around quoting that at you mwahhahahah

kiskideesameanoldmother · 15/03/2008 10:40

i never tell anyone I MN. let them find it themselves. well except for one mate who has been my mate for 25 yrs.

morningpaper · 15/03/2008 10:41

setting the tone yes what a responsibility

so hard to get the balance right between the leader of the opposition and vigorous bum sex

OP posts:
Boco · 15/03/2008 10:41

Maybe MP will quote you Slur, quoting CM that MP sets the tone around here, she'll quote it in the roundup in order to set the tone, and we can do that postmodern imploding thing again.
