Meghan keeps getting awards, while Kate doesn’t

Meghan just got yet another award, without much evidence how she does support and empower women and girls (I’m not saying she doesn’t , just she gets more publicity out of getting her awards than the actual work).
At the same time Kate evidently does a lot of support for a variety of charities, but no news of her collecting any awards for it.
Any thoughts?

What would Kate get an award for? Showing young women and girls you don't need to do fuck all with your life and bother about a career if you marry well? Slimmer of the year? How to grit your teeth and smile convincingly?

Or waiting around for years doing nothing much until William finally decide to marry her

I think all the money and castles is her award. Also why do you care

This thread is hilarious. Royal Family members do not need awards, except all the medals they are given by other family members.
Remind me what heroic acts or even active service Edward has seen to deserve his medals?

They are Jubilee and Coronation medals, worn with pride by many.

You'll see, if you look at medal racks, that they are worn on the outside (reflecting their status).

My only gripe with these medals is that they weren't awarded to Chelsea Pensioners (as they are veterans still in a form of uniform). I don't begrudge them to any of their civilian recipients

Where is Kate these days? Even the DM is asking (finally)!

Half term is over, so probably back at Adelaide Cottage.

It's still 4 weeks until Easter, so I think it'll be some time before the next update (they said only when there was something substantive to say). I think it'll come when they want to start making arrangements for future engagements. That might come a bit before Easter, but I expect the first we'll see of her will be going to church on Easter Sunday

@mpsw
Edward has the title of Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, the Royal Colonel of 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, the title of Honorary Air Commodore of Royal Air Force Waddington and is a Royal Honorary Colonel of the London Regiment.
Edward has the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee medal, Golden Jubilee medal, Diamond Jubilee medal, Platinum Jubilee medal, the Canadian Forces Decoration, and New Zealand Commemorative medals.

This is hilarious when Edward has never even served for one day. He dropped out of training. So the idea the Royals do not need awards is hilarious. They constantly award each other medals and awards.

MM is a self publicist and attention seeking actress. Her income depends on being always in the public eye.

The Princess of Wales is the future queen of England. Why would she need awards?

There's no comparison.

Pretty sure she will be Queen of more countries than England.

Haven't read the full thread, and I'm sure someone else has pointed this out, but a lot of awards are simply PR exercises.

I worked in marketing /PR and spent a lot of time entering people/ companies for awards to generate news/ press releases.
As they say, you gotta be in to win! It's a numbers game - enter 20 and you might get 5. Enter 5 and you might get 1. Meghan's PR team will have an award-entering strategy, I'm sure.

Hello I worked with the royals in a former role. They get approached to accept awards all the time and simply do not accept. Accepting an award might be perceived as endorsing an organisation or as a political statement.

SurelySmartie · 23/03/2024 12:17

A lot of these ‘awards’ that she has got are the sorts of things you apply for yourself or your organisation (which they have set up) does, or your circle of friends nominates you.
